When Bobbie flips the latch a section of the wall under the writing swings open revealing a dark passageway.

I don't think so. I guess we'll just have to get through as best we can... unless perhaps we can get a torch from one of the walls?
Saying this, Jonathan looks over the walls for any torches/lightgiving objects, and upon finding them, tries to take them from the walls.

Jonathan looks around for a light, but all the light in this place seems to be magical. There is nothing for him to grab. The group will have to go in the dark if they go through the passageway.

Bobbie steps away from the darkness. Who wants to go first? He says, smiling.

Once Blake moves on, Jonathan follows. In the meantime, realizing the others have drawn their weapons, Jonathan checks for his, and realizes all he has is a dagger.
Great. At least the others got something useful.

Brandis's skepticism and stark disbelief begins to crumble as he starts to admit (to himself, at least) that this isn't all some fancy illusion or gimmick. Drawing out a mace from his belt, the solid feel of the weapon convinces him. Holy crap...this is for real! "I'll act as a rear guard. You all go on ahead."

The group goes down the passageway, feeling their way along. The come out in a small, square room with 5 openings behind them, including the one they just came out of. In front of them is a raging fire. Next to the fire is the entrance to another passage. Over the entrance of the passageway is the symbol of a sword carved into the stone. The floor is made of stone in this room, and carved into the floor right in front of the two is the following sentence.

Fire consumes and fate is unknown, but those who go by the way of the sword find it's blade.

As the group spreads out in the room, Brandis reads the inscription to himself, looks around, and confidently walks up to the opening under the image of a sword. Reaching up to his full six feet, he feels around the carving, pulling any switches he finds.

The tunnel dead ends about 500 feet later. There's a table near the end with a ornately decorated sword laying on it.

Replacing the heavy mace on his belt, Brandis approaches the decorative blade and picks it up, testing the heft. Not so different from a machete, though the balance is a bit different.

When Brandis picks the sword up it jumps out of his hand and spins in the air, aiming it's deadly gleaming blade at his neck. He manages to jump out of the way just in time, the blade swiping past his neck so close that he can feel the wind from it.
