"This is Regiji- he brought me back after, um, the incident earlier."
Crimson says, gesturing the scout and smiling up at Irene.
"And this is Irene! She brought me here and has been helping me since I arrived."
She hugs Irene as she introduces her.

Then we'll get it unbound! Dani steps back another step. I'm not letting you have her! Any of her!

[Ashen Lilies]

Khiansa fetches the Brightheart after several minutes of stuff (providing Reinholdt isn't there), then goes to the Rose Garden and attempts to teleport himself and Chelonie to the Hospital.

Irene smiles and hugs Crimson back. She looks at Regiji. "In that case you have my thanks." She doesn't want to elaborate knowing it's a sore topic for Crimson.

Dani is gritting her teeth.
Her expression is, overall, rather...
...well, cute. What else could it be?

Give me one good reason why I should believe that. Just one!

Since the Probe is organic rather than mechanical it doesn't have a proper off-switch. Much to the chagrin of... most everyone.

Except Destro.

He likes it for some reason.

"I'll bet I could find some milk! Or some more BEE rocks for you! That's a funny name, huh? Bee! Like a little bug that makes honey! I can't eat honey 'cuz I don't have a mouth. Regiji says that it's really sticky and sweet. But I don't know what sweet is either!" it does a little loop-dee-loop simply because it can.

And doings loops makes it feel extra jovial.

"Can you taste sweet stuff? I heard that cats can't taste sweet stuff. Are you a cat or a person? Or a cat person? Have you ever been able to get a boomerang to come back to you? I'll bet I could if I had arms!"

Meanwhile...

Regiji, for the time being, waves cheerfully.

Well, there's a gaiatar of him in Rebo's spoiler. But he looks like a pretty mundane human.

"May the Shepherds watch over you in your wanderings," Regiji finally comments after the introduction is over. Even bows slightly. "But who needs formalities, right? I'm going to guess by your attire that the dress code here is pretty lax. If it even exists at all. And thanks for taking care of Scarlet. Sounds like things have been a bit rough for her of late."

Dani, I've missed you. Alexis runs towards Dani and tries to hug her..

Crimson seems a little reluctant to pull out of the hug, but does so after a moment more. Silly pheromones.
"Oh, um, we were at the hot tub earlier..."
She explains to Regiji, glancing up at Irene.
"She doesn't dress like that all the time."

Dani, taken by surprise by this, is hugged, and hugs back instinctually - before going to pull herself away. N-no, no no no no it's not really you...don't lie to me like that!

And Jazirian wails a silent lament.

Khiansa murderficates all the basement cats, and sets up a deathtrap for Reinholdt! Involving an illusion and a Sphere of Annihilation.

Khiansa is stuck in Chelonie's deadtime.

What do you mean? I'm Alexis. She looks confused.

[Reinholdt]

"Ummm... I'm a catboy sir. It's like a cat and a person sir. If that helps sir. But I'm not a boomerang sir. I don't think I've seen anyone who is sir."

Irene looks down. "Oh. Sorry about that." She doesn't seem overly sorry. Mostly because she's perfectly fine with showing off. She thinks she's pretty and everyone else needs to admit it already.

Despite how stupidly unnecessary that is.

"And yes, things have been a little rough, but it's going to get better." She gives Crimson a reassuring smile.

[Rebonack]

"Hot tub?" Regiji wrinkles his brow slightly at the word. Apparently isn't one he's familiar with.

It's a hot bath that uses jets of water to massage the body, the voice in his head clarifies.

"Ah. Thanks Sal. Well, I guess that makes a bit more sense then, doesn't it?" the Scout concludes. He also seems pretty much immune to the pheromones. Maybe he's just mentally resilient. Or maybe he just has really odd anatomy despite his appearance.

Maybe he's secretly a robot!

Nah, that would be silly.

"So, Irene, right? I don't suppose you could give me directions to the nearest large city? See, I think I got turned around a bit while I was traveling here. Missed my destination by a long shot."

Meanwhile...

"Oh! Like an animal person! Animal people are funny! Regiji said he met some of those before and they were really creepy! And some of them were contagious!" the Probe begins rolling around on the floor right about now. "Isn't that great? People can catch fuzzies!"

[The Bushranger]

Dani closes her eyes, and shakes her head.
The demon...it took over completely. And it's lying to get me not to do what has to be done...
Of course, it does seem to be working for the moment...
I...oh goddess, Alexis, I...I wish I'd been able to stop this from happening...

[celtois]

Well I guess you won't listen to me. Alexis fires a blast of frost at Dani.

[Reinholdt]

"Contagious sir? I... don't understand sir. What does that mean sir?"

Hmmm... everyone and their grandmothers are immune to the pheromones. Maybe it's just a placebo...
That's ok. No big deal to me.

Irene shakes her head. "I don't believe there are any big cities around here. Not that I'd care for them anyways." Nymphs want nature. But she's only still getting into that. "I suppose I could tell you where the tavern is. People go there a lot." She'll give him directions whether he needs it or not.

[The Bushranger]

Dani dives out of the way, but gets clipped, and yelps as her left arm gets frosted. Brrr!
She rolls to her feet, holding the gun out in her good arm.
Lexie...forgive me...

BLAM!
BLAM!
BLAM!

[celtois]

A wall of frost appears between her and the bullets. It shatters it, some of the other shots go wide though. Two shards of ice implant themself in her arm.

Well, not entirely immune.
Crimson is gently leaning against Irene, smiling up at her as she listens to her.

[Rebonack]

"Like a catchy tune!" the Probe gurgles. It then begins to do a rather stunning rendition of Banana Phone. Hopefully the ear-worm doesn't prove contagious.

Meanwhile...

"Really? Wow... I must have ended up farther off course than I thought. Though I guess a tavern would be as a good a place as any to check in. No doubt there will be other travelers with some idea of where I should be headed," Regiji reasons. "I-"

*blamblamblam*

The Scout straightens up quite suddenly. "Did anyone else just hear gun-shots?"

[The Bushranger]

Dani, meanwhile, has been knocked on her backside from the recoil, yelling in pain as her frozen arm hits the floor, but keeps shooting.


Mind you, her gun is loud.

BLAM!

BLAM!

[Ashen Lilies]

Phoenix, having been playing a tune of ominous foreboding on the piano, stands.
"Yes."

And now Jazirian gets infected with an ear-worm.
Daaaaaammmmnnnnn yyyooooouuuuuuuuu.

Then gunshots. Then more.

[Reinholdt]

Butler turns to Jazirian looking at him desperately for help.

Irene has an arm draped protectively over what she considers to be vulnerable Crimson.

Irene tilts her head. "Ummm... yeah. Happens sometimes around here. They have a training room and people in there use guns all the time. It gets annoying at times." She doesn't think about how she only previously heard shots from the training room because of her cat hearing and now shouldn't be able to.

[celtois]

One hits Alexis arm one her leg the third goes wide.

She falls to the ground. You won't be able to bring her back if you kill me.

[Rebonack]

"I don't think there would be yelling if someone were just training," Regiji points out as he begins moving in the direction of the sound. Yes. Good Perception check. He's a Scout after all. It's his job to notice things.

Wonder what he'll be walking in on.

The Probe, meanwhile, is still signing. It probably won't stop of its own accord.

Dani grits her teeth against the pain in her arm and the pain in her heart.
...lie!

BLAM!

Her aim is simply atrocious as she collapses, unconsious.


Joining Quinn and Susan in that state...


All of whom are free for dragging to the infirmary, as BR has to run.

[celtois]

The blast hits her shoulder sending her reeling. She fell to the ground hardly alive. Her soul is trapped. You won't be able to raise her.I'm telling the truth.

[Reinholdt]

Butler looks back at the Probe. "Uh... sir. Do you think you could go looking and find these now sir?" He points at his star shards.

Alas. Irene looks at her charge Crimson and decides it may be best to stay behind. Unless Crimson heads towards the site of the battle, in which case she follows very closely.

Crimson isn't entirely sure what gunshots are, so she just flinches when she hears them, looking between Irene and Regiji uncertainly.
"What is that sound?"
