GLoG XXV (that's 25!): Mapped out an' everythin'!

Crimson hugs him back.
"I-it's worse t-than that."

Oh hey. Watch out for that zombie that sneak shuffled its way behind Correntin and is now lunging towards him to take a big Ol' bite.

[Neon Knight]

Unaware of what was behind him, Corentin focused on Crimson. "You can tell me, Madam. It's alright."

[AmberVael]

Crimson notices Irene, and her eyes widen.
"Watch out!"

[Reinholdt]

It may very well be too late. Up to Corentin whether zombie noming succeeds.

Fortunately, Corentin has had experience with people attempting to kill him from behind. Comes with being a scoundrel. Crimson's warning was just in the nick of time.

Unfortunately, the only way Corentin could properly dodge in this situation was to basically throw himself out of the way, probably smashing into some furniture and ending up on the floor with some bad bruises.

Zombie turns and decides to resume its unrelenting assault by lunging at Corentin again, grasping at him and noming any piece of him she can get a hold of.

Now on the floor, Corentin was unable to get away from the zombie on his own. Unless Crimson intervenes, he'll probably be bitten.

Crimson backs off, her eyes filled with uncertainty as she struggles with a number of things- like the fact that this is (was) Irene, her father's whispers in her ear, and her own lack of magic.

Well, Corentin's arm gets nomed as he tries to push the zombie off him.

[Reinholdt]

Oh. In that case zombie gets a nice juicy chunk before getting pushed off. And most likely spreads the zombie disease. The zombie is relentless though and comes back for seconds.

It may finally sink in to Crimson's mind though that this is not Irene, but actually another female.

If she has time to study features and all, she may recognize the female NPC Crimson and Corentin rescued yesterday.

Corentin, wishing to avoid becoming an undead abomination's dinner, drew a flintlock and fired at the zombie.

Oh, great.

Crimson whimpers and backs up against the wall.

[Reinholdt]

Blarghity. Dead zombie. Poor NPCs. No one cares about them or their families.

This may rattle Crimson even more considering how she thought it was Irene for a second.

Corentin stood, shaking as smoke trailed from the barrel of his pistol. "Scarlet, what is going on here?"

[AmberVael]

"Z-zombies..."
Her eyes fixate on the dead woman.

[Neon Knight]

That word had little meaning for Corentin. "Scarlet, I need you to calm down." He took a step towards her. "I don't know what that is."

Corentin's arm hurt terribly. His wound also felt kinda funny...

Its at this convenient time Nikolai enters the kitchen to throw away the broken teacup, but, once again, stops to take in the scene.
"Oh damn..." She sighed.

[AmberVael]

"T-they're undead c-creatures... eat the living. P-pass on their condition... by b-biting."
She looks up at Corentin.

[Neon Knight]

Oh. Oh my. Corentin's eyes wander to his wound. Then...

He looked back at the zombie, then at Scarlet. "So, I'm..."

((Is the zombie decayed or not, by the way?))

Zombie is not decayed at this point in time, nope.

"I can help?" Nikolai raised a hand slowly, offering herself meekly, due to the previous interaction with Crimson.

[AmberVael]

Crimson's eyes flick to Nikolai fearfully and uncertainly.
"Y-you can?"
She's certainly not the horribly mad girl Nikolai saw yesterday.

((A pity. If it was, Corentin would make the mental association with gangrene.))

Corentin turned to Nikolai. "Then I implore you aid, madam!"

In the pool area:

Butler is scrubbing the place down, a little upset he fell behind schedule and didn't get this done while no one was likely to use it. Various Caution: Slippery yellow signs are up.

Butler looks up as the man he helped into GLoG enters. "Hello sir. Feeling better today sir?" The NPC shuffles closer. Butler notices some blood and nasty looking bite wounds. "Sir, are you alright? Do you need medical attention sir?"

A small moan. "I'm sorry sir. You're going to have to speak up sir." Another moan. Butler shakes his head. "I'm sorry sir. I just don't understand sir. Uhhh... sir. You might not want to walk there sir." The man does not listen, instead slipping on the wet floor and falling down with a thud. "Sir!" Butler starts gingerly making his way to the man, his steps much more sure.

"We're going to have to work fast, actually. I'm going to have to touch you in ways that might not be comfortable." The warning was all she gave, not even time to comprehend, and she pulled Corentin close, if allowed, pressing her lips to his.

Again, if allowed, he might feel something that could really only be described as a tug on his soul, an itching in his skin, his veins squirming like worms beneath his flesh.

Corentin went with it, although his brow was sweating and his eyes were wide. He had no idea what he was dealing with and in desperation he just went with the flow. That's how he got along when things got confusing.

[Fredthefighter]

Vicki is wandering about the pool area when she sees Butler talking to the moaning dude.
Butler stay away from him!
She pulls out her holy symbol (Vicki is a cleric of Ehlonna, it is mentioned in her profile) and points it towards the zombie.
BEGONE!
The symbol radiates positive energy directed straight at the shuffly-moany-wounded-guy.

In the pool area:

"Just wait there sir. I'll help you up in a second sir." Butler finally reaches the man who now seems to be crawling towards him. He steps around behind and to the side of the man, just barely missing his foot getting gnawed on and starts to lift him from behind, unawares that the zombie is maneuvering to chew on the hand wrapped around under his arm.

Of course, then Butler has to go and faux pas, slipping himself and sending both him and the zombie into the pool with a loud Sploosh!

Oh noes! My humor scene is being attacked by a cleric! Well... they just tumbled into the pool, barely missing the positive energy shot, Butler having started helping him up when Vicki entered.

Indeed, Vicki's shouts is why he slipped.

His injury would become slowly more painful, until it was nearly unbearable.
And, then, when he might think he's on the edge of death, Nikolai would pull away, panting.
The disease should be either gone or delayed by quite a bit, the wound healed as well.
