It is early morning. It had rained yesterday, and the ground is slightly damp, however the weather has seemed to clear up. The entire village is just waking up.

OOC: Everyone starting in the first map, not the reenforcements, have a reason to be near the gate in the morning. Go nuts with the RP until the first map begins.

Lein woke as the sun rose. Looking around the village, she surveys the atmosphere, her eyes piercing through the early morning mist, 'It's to quiet, like the calm before a storm...'

Adal

Youth had it's many benefits and also it's many penalties. One of those benefits rested in Adal's ability to drift into unfathomably deep sleeps. And one of those penalties rested in the ability to be instantly awake. His eyes snapped open as soon as he heard Lein's tent flap rustle as the woman stepped out into the early morning. The boy crawled out of his sleeping bag, and went out to see what was the matter still dressed in his stripped blue pajamas. The boy was only eleven, and yet could start a forest fire with nothing but words and a book. "What time is it, Lein? I think it's too early.."

Looking down at the young boy's ruffled hair, Lein smiles, "The sun is just up, so we have a long summer day ahead of us. Any plans for the morning? I could use some breakfast myself, the bakery over their smells delicious." She glances at the other tents, sigh It's to bad we couldn't get a room at the inn, but with your way of spending money like water, we've been rather short on everything lately.

Adal

A long yawn, stiffled slightly by the boy's right hand, escapes out into the early morning air. "But I really wanted that book.. It was--Awhhh--A good book." The boy stretches a little then turns back toward the other tents. "I hope I can have a hot breakfast this morning. I dread more of Bronz' cooking.."

[Xondoure]

Lein groans, and checks to make sure the others are still sleeping. "Why don't you and I head over to that bakery, and I'll see if I can procure something my way."

[ZeroNumerous]

Adal

The boy mockingly acts shocked at the proposal. "As a man of noble upbringing, I could not steal from those less fortunate than myself! I of course cannot stop you from doing so, but to suggest I would do so is preposterous." The boy ducks back into his tent, takes a minute or so to change, then slips back out. "Why it's absolutely absurd I say. Shall we be off then?"

[Xondoure]

After a few minutes of stealing, Lein and Adal walk around the town munching on piping hot oatcakes. Lein looks out over the now bright morning. "what do you say we wake those two lazy bones, and get moving Zero?"

Prince Kyric has never been the sort to get up at dawn, awakes to find his friend Zero and Lein gone. Kyric wearily begins stretching and warming up with his blade as he does every day. "This trip has been horrible so far...... camping outside, nothing to do, no money......"

[Xondoure]

(I'm going to go with, you met me last month while staying in a nearby village. I agreed to travel with you because I owe Kyric for saving my neck against a group of bandits.)


As the others shake themselves awake, and Zero begins a glorified version of their town exploits, Lein sneaks away from the camp, eager to drop the already tiresome act. She wonders close to the towns gate's gazing northwards, unsure of her next action.

Bronz only grumbled. He joined this group only because he thought that he would see someone worthy to fight. And the pay wasn't shabby either.
"Yes, milord." replied Bronz as he picked up his stuff; just the essentials of rations, spare clothes, and his axe.

Kyric's warm-up was finished before Zero and Lein returned.
After Zero finishes his acccount of the morinings expolits, Kyric turns to Bronz, "Up for a little sparring at the field by the gate, Bronz?"

(I need to be away from the computer for a while now.... if you accept Geno... have your character defeat the inexpereinced Kyric.)

"Sure, I'm a bit bored any hoo, let's do this!" Bronz says as he picks up his axe.

(Heres how I did the duel in my game if you want to go by those rules... Whichever one of you has a higher speed gets the first attack. The other one counterattacks. If either one is fast enough, he attacks again. The slower guy then attacks, then the faster guy counterattacks, and once again, if either is fast enough, he gets his second attack. Rince and repeat)

Adal coughed when the two finished their duel. "Now is neither the time nor place for shenanigans of the lowest of caliber. We must make haste to find my cousin so that I can inform her of my new black sheep status."

The boy instinctively turns and takes one step backwards. Unfortunately, he had forgotten that he had worn his robes into town and slipped backwards square onto his butt. "Wh-what! Who wants to--Oh! It's a lady. I'm dreadfully sorry, but do I know you?" The boy stands, brushes himself off and finally takes a good look at the woman. "You look vaguely familiar."

You don't recognize your own cousin? She smiles, helping the boy up. It's me, your cousin Katherine.

OOC: Event will begin after next dialogue post, don't worry peeps.

The boy remains completely perplexed. "I guess I have been working for far too long. I apologize for not recognizing you, Katherine. I originally came to inform you that I am a free man unbound by the laws of filial obedience. And a.. at least well-known.. magician." His voice lowers to a whisper. "And I was hoping to get some free lodging for a few nights.."

She sighs. Of course, that's what family is for.

You can hear a booted march of footsteps, becoming louder. Outside the gate there is a force of bandits that is much larger than usual, in these parts it is rare to see even a group of three brigands. Their weapons seem to be in better shape than most others.

Destroy the village! Yells a man in the distance. The bandits advance on the town...

Dear god! I must go warn the villagers. Cousin, can you take care of the bandits until I get help? Not waiting for an answer, Katherine runs off into town.

Rushing out to join her comrades, Lein's smile freezes ice cold as she faces the brigands.
