Quinn sets to work trying to salvage the brownies.
Too bad a Repair spell wouldn't help...


Dani grins cheerfully at Corentin before turning her attention back to the Zee-bit.
And finally notices that she's being stared back at.
Um, what? Sorry! I just, um, haven't seen anything like you before?

[Morty]

Wenomir is again in the armory, looking through swords and daggers.

[FireFox]

Wenomir may see Sam in the armory, unpacking crates of Prometheus Securities brand weapons and equipment.

[Morty]

Is that the increased security everyone's been talking about? asks Wenomir, waving around an espadon absent-mindedly.

[FireFox]

Increased security...? No, well, maybe. I don't know anything about increased security, but I have... contacts with this defense company, so I try to keep the base supplied with useful things. Sam examines a shotgun taser and shrugs.

[Rebonack]

Repair might work on brownies. Thankfully they aren't 'magical', otherwise the spell would fail for sure.

"That's because I'm kind of out of place here," the critter comments as she begins smoothing out tail-fur with her tongue. Or... technically it isn't fur. It's cilia. "I'm from the Far."

All Far-critters worth their salt have cilia. It's just one of those things.

"I'm Allaso. Aspect of Mutation. And I think we've met you before. Dani, right? Apatite several orders of magnitude larger than you?"

[Morty]

Well, Czernov put something on the bulletin board about new security measuers, and we've needed them for some time. Wenomir does several cuts and swings at the air with the new sword.

[The Bushranger]

Dani giggles and nods. Yeah! It's my metabolism, I have to eat a lot 'cause of my powers! Um, I don't think we're met? I haven't met anybody from the Far! Unless you're one of those shapeshifting critters?

Quinn continues working on earning brownie points.

[FireFox]

Oh yeah? I'll see if I can talk with him; Security stuff is sort of my job. Was my job. Sam nods to him and walks out, deadtiming.

[Morty]

Wenomir continues to try out the new, a bit heavier sword, and decides to keep it.
((How many magic weapons are there in the armory anyway?))

((As many as you say there are. ))

[Reinholdt]

((No clue. Shame Rot didn't just pilfer all but 3 or something so it'd be easy. ))

Reinholdt wanders into the armory. He's here to try out some new weapons on the firing range. Yay for target practice! And there's Wenomir.

"Hello Wenomir."

[Rebonack]

((Rebo suggests that 'enough' is a probably an accurate figure.))

"I'm a fragment of Zee," the chimera explains. "You've met us when we're whole. But don't start thinking that I'm just a piece of her. It doesn't work like that. I'm just as much an individual as you are. My sisters and I just sorta get mashed together when we're Zee."

And lo, the brownies have been cut! Hooray!

Now, who's going to eat them?

Oh! That's kinda weird, but pretty cool too! Um, where are your sisters?

Quinn studies the brownies for a long moment, then goes to sample one. Just a nibble.

[Morty]

Well, let's say it's a bit magical. Not from meteorite steel, though.
Still here, I see. Hello. Wenomir looks at the cat sternly, resting the sword on his shouler. Well, he hasn't done anything yet. Maybe he really is trying to redeem.

[Reinholdt]

"Still here."
Oooh. Shotgun taser. Reinholdt examines it. He could use a decent stun weapon after that incident with the werewolves yesterday.

"So whatcha been up to?"

[Darkcomet]

Did I mention there's a bazooka in the armory? 'cause there is.

Blame DC, he put it there.

[Rebonack]

"Somewhere else. I don't know. We got mulched last night and that caused us to split apart. We'll need to find each other before we can rejoin. Hopefully soon becau-GAH!"

The chimera suddenly grabs her ears with her fore-claws. More than enough to make someone go d'aaawww...

"The quest! I need to get to the tavern and recruit people for the quest! By Deios this couldn't have happened at a more inopportune time."

[Morty]

I fought a monster, lost my sword, and I've heard there are new security measures and I'm going to help. He puts his new sword in a scabbard and swings it over his shoulder.

[Reinholdt]

"New security measures? Like that DNA lock that was added to the armory? Noticed it on the way in."

Reinholdt's eyes go wide. What's that treasure he sees? Could it be... a bazooka?

Who's a good bazooka? You are. Yes you are. Reinholdt goes to caress it almost lovingly.

Wait... wasn't he supposed to go on some quest...?

[The Bushranger]

Quest? What quest?


Dani just gets an 'aww...' expression.

[Rebonack]

"Into the dungeons of doom," Allaso reiterates. "We were going to head over to the tavern and start recruiting people. Enupnion will probably meet up with me there, but knowing Tikto she's off prancing around like a cheery ditz. We don't have time to go hunt her down, which means only one of us will be able to go while the other looks for Tikto."

The chimera looks rather irritated at this point. "I'm the strongest of the three by a pretty decent margin. But even the three of us don't compare to Zee. We're greater than the sum of our parts after all. We'll just have to make it work though."

And with that the chimera hops off the counter.

When she hits the ground she's no longer the size of a large house-cat.

No, she's about as large as a tiger now.

What a tricky mutation on her part.

"I'm going to head to the Taverna now. If anyone feels like laughing in the face of death and getting your paws on some riches in the process then feel free to follow. I'll explain what's going on on the way."

And with that she trots off toward the door.

Only to pause.

"Oh... And the brownies are my treat. Dig in."

[Morty]

Possibly. Hopefully, it'll prevent evildoers from entering our premises freely.

[Lex-Kat]

Lex flutters past the armory in time to here Reinholdt making love to the bazooka. Put that down and get out of there!!

Only trusted members shall be allowed in the armory. She waits for him to leave.

[The Bushranger]

Hey, you are going to try and fix me, right? Quinn says a little perturbedly.


I'd love to but I'm kinda in danger and Sam would be pissed if I left. But thanks for the brownies!

Dani, taking advantage of Quinn's distraction, goes to swipe the whole tray!
And flee back to Sam's room with it.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt looks at Lex and bites his lip.
He sighs. "... Fine. Can I at least take the shotgun taser? There was a werewolf attack yesterday and it would have made it easier to take them down without resorting to lethal force rather than the roundabout way I did it."

[Lex-Kat]

Yes. You may have the shotgun, but no bazooka for you. She then leaves to make sure the Security Measures only allow those of actual good alignment into the secure areas.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt sighs and hangs his head a bit. After a short pause he looks at Wenomir. "Sorry about that." He then grabs the shotgun taser and leaves the armory.

*wonders which members suddenly just got locked out of a 1/3rd of the base*

[Morty]

((I'm not sure about Wenomir's alignment, actually. He started out as Lawful Neutral, but did it shift since then?))
Wenomir leaves after Reinholdt, resuming the partols of the base with his new toy sword.

[Rebonack]

The brownie tray, being an inanimate object, offers no resistance to Dani's filching.

Allaso cranes her neck a bit to peer back at Quinn. "We won't even know if we can help until my sisters and I link back up. And right now making sure the Forces of Naughtyness don't get to the Amulet of Yendor first is more important. I'm sorry, but that's just the truth. Just don't try swallowing anyone whole and I'm sure no one will notice the rest of you."

That isn't terribly comforting. But being comforting is usually more of Enupnion's gig.

"I'm really sorry you got tainted by me again. If you want someone to blame I would suggest the guy who tore me up. But look on the bright side, your personality is intact and people without true sight won't be able to see the difference!"

The chimera smiles rather cheekily. "Though they might notice you suddenly have the metabolism of something the size of a whale. Tag along if you like. Or don't. That's up to you. Ta!"

And then Allaso goes bounding out the door.
