Whoops, didn't see this. I think Sigmund is too busy... vomiting... and being generally depressed and out of his mind (with good reason) to worry about Shirubaru's antics.

Maybe some other Captain can come break us up? I'm not sure why a fight needs to be avoided so much, but I won't argue, I'll just appeal for someone to come separate us before things get nasty.

Let's see... Takashi got sent back to soul society bearing a Captain's robe given to him by Toho

Augustus attack the Living World with a SuperGillian after closing off the Gates our of soul society so 3 captains (including your own) were trapped in the Living World. The super gillian did not die, but was instead ran away after a strange transformation.

Meanwhile, the shinigami in soul society noticed the group of arrancar that had shut down the gates and defeated them. They detonated the device that was shutting down the gates in the medical district and caused heavy damage. But that also meant the gate was open. Yen and Akako rushed into the Living World to save the shinigami that were left behind.

However, just before they entered the gate, hundreds of hollows swarmed the pieces of the supergillian that had gotten knocked off during the fight and began to devour them. So they fought off the hollows (fairly quickly) and got all the wounded back to Soul Society.

That's all the major stuff, but little things are going on everywhere...
