    Appearance: Nereida is very tan, and stands fairly tall. She wears what one could call a toga with a sea-green sash around her waist. She wears leather sandals. Her Hair is worn long. Her mask takes the shape of a seashell the side of her temple, and her hollow hole is obscured by her clothing. She is always seen carrying around a broom as well.

    Personality: Nereida is a very calm and cheerful arrancar. Since her master's privaron status, she hasn't had to do much besides clean. She spends her time walking around, humming a tune while she cleans up Las Noches. She visits her old master often, but usually works around the alojamientos.

    Sonido: Nereida is a poor Sonido user, and is out of practice.
    Cero: Nereida's usual attack strategy is to use cero. She is quite skilled in it.
    Bala: Nereida rarely uses bala, as her shell allows her to have time to charge ceros.
    Pesquisa: Nereida has a fairly good pesquisa, but doesn't have much use for it.
    Hierro: She has an almost non-existant hierro, but this usually doesn't matter, as her shell has an extremely strong defense.
    Garganta: She uses this to get around, mainly just to go from each section of alojamientos to another, and to her old master's tower.

    Zanpaktou: Empatar

    Empatar takes the form of her broom... Sort of. Her broom is actually a trident which Nereida has attached several bristles to at the end.

    Ressurreccion: Cerra, Empatar! A massive clam shall forms around Nereida, shielding her from harm. In addition, the bristles fall off of Empatar. Her strategy in this form is to only open the shell to release a cero, and then quickly go back into hiding.

    She herself gets several seashell-shaped pieces of armour all over her body. Her Trident can also shoot three of its prongs at a time, which regenerate within a minute.

    In addition, This form lets Nereida Generate waves outside of the shell, to allow some movement.

    Reiatsu: Always present, but far-spread and subtle. Feels downright alien, and not in the way the Fae do – it is still recognisably reiatsu, but feels very wrong. Visually, usually invisible, but when concentrated is black.

    Background: The British wing of the Franklin & Edwards Analytical Research Corporation had always been the red-haired stepchild of the multinational megacorp. Never in its history had it made a ground-breaking discovery, either in the scientific front the company presented to the world or the occult-focused Shadow Projects.

    When a sensor array the British wing had been working to improve was able to sense the multitude of Hollows, along with the odd Fae and Vizard, the division executives were naturally delighted. After conducting numerous “interviews” with captured specimens and discovering the soul-based nature of the entities they now found themselves interacting with, the British executives set up a new Shadow Project.

    Project Einherjar was to investigate the possibility of using souls and other afterlife phenomena in battlefield and civilian capacities. Not two years ago, the Project had recently acquired an Adjuchas demonstrating shadow manipulation powers and were at a loss at how to proceed with it. When Project lead Isaac Blake suggested that they attempt to channel the Hollow’s spiritual energy into a human host, he was rewarded by being universally voted as the test subject.

    The transfer process was a success, though the trauma of the process burnt out Isaac’s memories. The spiritual energy readouts from Isaac were different from the ones from the Adjuchas, but the research team declared the test a success. Isaac was redubbed Project Blacklight, and underwent extensive testing.

    The testing showed Blacklight possesses a variety of useful and dangerous spiritual powers, but as time passed and the powers developed, his body came to require a reishi cocktail that the team named Nytox. Initially, Nytox withdrawal only suppressed Blacklight’s powers, but eventually it became as necessary as oxygen for him. The research team then built the Blacklight Suit to provide Blacklight with a constant source of breathable Nytox, as well as including various enhancements that refined his powers.

    For Blacklight, this period was torturous, as he underwent test after test to see the limits of his capabilities, kept restrained by a shocking collar that fired off any time he went beyond the test’s parameters. When he became inured to the pain the collar caused, he lost no time in taking the initiative.

    He killed the entirety of the research team and plundered their databases for information. Whilst his memories had been erased, Isaac’s natural academic talent remained, and he was able to assimilate the information at a healthy rate. After reviewing the Shadow Project’s files on the afterlife, he decided to leave Britain and pursue research elsewhere – the better to avoid the native psychopomps, and the easier to research in peace. Japan seemed good. Japan was a civilised country, and technologically advanced, too. The travel guides on J City made it out to be a rather quiet place, but nonetheless he could make out signs of spiritual interference. Perfect.

    Personality: Isaac Blake’s personality was wiped clean, and the tests that Blacklight underwent have left the new Blake emotionally cold and somewhat vindictive, though his sense of sympathy is far greater than the old Blake’s. However, his natural scientific curiosity remains, and Blake is eager to learn and experiment.

    Physical Description: Underneath the Blacklight suit, Isaac has become pale-skinned and wide-eyed. Major blood vessels show up easily across his body, and have turned black. His eyes and hair are an extremely dark brown. His build is relatively average, displaying no hint of his powers.

    The Blacklight Suit itself consists of a helmet with a built-in Nytox respirator, body-wide padding, torso armour and claws constructed of a spiritually resonant alloy, which are in turn attached to a replacement nervous system constructed of the same alloy. The torso armour is constructed of what appears to be little more than polished black plastic, and consists of multiple segments that follow the structure of the ribs.

    Powers
    The Blacklight
    The Blacklight powers consist of the following:

    Blacklight Will: Isaac possesses telekinesis able to exert a significant amount of strength. Cars are as easy to move as doors, and Isaac can move much larger objects with focus. This power can also be used to create a blast of shadowy energy equivalent in strength to a chanted Hado 33.

    Shadow Blink: This short-range teleportation leaves a trail of shadows behind it, and is equivalent to shunpo.

    Blacklight Presence: Isaac’s reiatsu is thinly spread over a 50ft radius. He is able to pinpoint any outside source of reiatsu within this area, but can only sense reiatsu beyond that distance with intense concentration. Isaac’s alien reiatsu has traces of spiritually aware human and hollow to it, but overall feels utterly alien and unnerving.

    Echo: Isaac can form a sword out of reiryoku to use when he has to. The hilt becomes solid, but the blade, which is straight except for a curve at the tip, is formed out of black energy. Functionally equivalent to a Seele Schneider without the vibrations or reishi stealing.

    Strength, Speed and Toughness: Isaac’s physical capabilities have been enhanced beyond human limits, and are roughly between a third seat’s and a Vice Captain’s in potency. His agility and reflexes are beyond the level of his other abilities, at roughly Vice-Captain level, due to the nature of his enhanced nervous system.

    The Blacklight Suit
    In addition to providing protection, the Blacklight Suit has the following features:

    Focus Claws: These enhance Isaac’s telekinesis so that it possesses pin-point accuracy, giving it manual dexterity slightly above that of human hands. They can also be used as weapons as a last resort.

    Nytox Respirator: The suit’s helmet periodically provides the Nytox Isaac requires to live.

    Weaknesses

    Nytox Dependency: Isaac requires regular inhalations of Nytox, a distilled combination of reiatsu from both himself and Menos-level Hollows.

    Alloy Nervous System: Isaac’s enhanced nervous system is constructed of metal, and thus conducts electricity readily.

    Anselm Brandt

    Attendant to Toho

    Personality: Anselm can be considered complicated when it comes to his personality, he isn't violent or arrogant, yet his fighting style causes serious damage to whatever it hits. He was created to be able to both cause damage over a large area yet to fight just as well in single combat. He prefers the latter as would be expected with his non violent attitude.

    Abilities:

    Sonido Practioner He is skilled in the use of the Sonido.

    Bala Expert His best skill is the Bala, able to fire more than one bala at a time through the use of both his hands.

    Cero Practioner His skill is just as good as any of the other Fraccion though he rarely uses it.He can preform a cero reversal which is similar to a doble though less powerful, he puts his hand on the sphere of cero energy as it is charging and uses his own cero to control the energy and force it to fire on it's owner.


    Hand to Hand Combat Practicioner He rarely uses this skill though he has rudimentary skills.

    Zanpaktou: Isogu, Shashu. White armored plates cover his body while his zanpaktou transforms into a bow, with which he can fire four bala at a time.

    Nameless dresses in flowing, non-reflective black robes that conceal any useful knowledge about his body from an observer. His hands are articulate and healthy, and his feet are covered by thin black shoes. A thin gold cord loops his waist, and two swords hang from it, both on the left side. One is a japanese katana. It has a black hilt with very thin veins of gold running through it, and a black sheath. The other is a western broadsword. The hilt is made of a dark metal, and wrapped with black leather. The scabbard is also black. Nameless' head, however, is the strangest part of his body. His face is covered at all times by a featureless black mask, which hangs off the front of his head with no visible means of support, like a Vizard mask. The back of his head and neck shows short black hair and pale skin.

    Affiliation: Samsara, Mortal monitor, keeps a track of all mortal world relations, and sets up things for them.

    Power Level: 3rd seat normally, second augment conditional release... Vice Captain level.

    Weight: 210 Lbs. A tall, and well muscled man, and by well muscled I mean BUILT.

    Eyes: A cool amber color, with flecks of silver thrown in there liberally.

    Zanpaktou: Inu Senka

    First Augment (constant): Inu Senka is a constant augment zanpaktou, it's main power being the Mystic eyes that make Midkan stand out so brashly in a crowd, and allow him to be seen by mortals, and act functionally as both a human, and a spirit. It also functions as a single barrel combat shotgun that can blow away low level hollows at close range.

    Mystic Eyes Charm: His eyes, while naturally cute in their own right, grant him the ability to make someone trust him completely just by looking into their eyes for 10 seconds. This can be broken by sufficent will power, or if it would make them do something they normally would not have done.

    Mystic Eyes, Paralyze: This being the most oft used of his abilities. This allows him to slowly paralyze someone with his continued glare, this takes time, and varies from person to person based on spiritual/will power, and it's starting effects start as a unwillingness of your fingers, or most outward extremities to move, the more will power, or spiritual power you have though, the longer this takes to take hold.

    This is also REALLY handy for stopping kidnappers from shooting a hostage.

    Second Augment (Conditional): Cry, Inu Senka: The true form of his zanpaktou's release, and arguably himself. Can only be shown, and weather he likes it or not, on the day of the Full Moon. In this augment, his body writhes, and warps, turning him into the iconic creature of legend. The Werewolf. Giving him Super Human (Even by Shinigami standards.) strength, and speed... But also giving him all the weaknesses a were wolf has, silver pierces his skin as if it were tissue paper, and stops any natural healing for long periods of time. As well as him being unable to attack actual wolves, this includes the resident Wolf people like Nukari, and Catrin.

    Name: Shin Ookawa

    Affiliation: Shinigami, 2nd Division

    Rank: 5th Seat

    Appearance: Of average height (about 5'10") and slender build, with close-cropped black hair and sharp, hawkish features. Wears a plain Shinigami uniform, without any unnecessary bells or whistles, which is always neatly folded and fitted with precision.

    Personality: Highly intelligent, Shin is a man who thinks much and speaks little. He has little use for ornamentation, and that is an attitude that extends to his speech, appearance, beliefs, and style of battle. Whether he is giving an order, offering an opinion, or attacking a foe, his delivery will always be flat, brief, and with no flowery words or pulled punches.

    As a soldier, the young shinigami is highly dedicated and disciplined. He is fiercely loyal to his comrades, and not one to question orders from his superiors. A believer in order and the rule of law, Shin is not a man to bend or break rules under all but the most strenuous circumstances.

    This does not mean, however, that there is nothing going on under the surface. Shin has a number of hobbies which run contrary to the image some of his comrades in the 2nd have of him. He has a small vegetable garden which he tends to dedicatedly, and a penchant for jazz music, which he picked up on his first assignment to the real world some 80 years ago. He has a saxophone in his room, which he has attempted for 60 years to teach himself to play with a complete lack of success.

    Zanpakuto: Gindaka

    Spirit Description: Gindaka is a large silver hawk, with a wingspan of approximately 5 feet and the same piercing blue eyes as its master (Though Gindaka would *never* refer to Shin as such).

    Like Shin, Gindaka is terse and to the point, and conversations between the two, on the rare occasion that they occur, do not last long.

    Proud and disdainful, Gindaka believes wholeheartedly in his superiority over other Zanpakuto, and any failure in battle is most assuredly, in his eyes, a result of either weakness or incompetence on the part of his wielder. Should any Zanpakuto defeat him in battle, Gindaka will carry a grudge against it, and work *very* hard to push Shin into combat with its wielder again.

    Shin has not yet obtained bankai, and, as such, has not completely mastered Gindaka. As such, disagreements between the two often arise, and Gindaka can, if he wishes, deny Shin use of his power. This is rare, however, as Gindaka remains aware that should Shin die, so too will he. However, Gindaka may vanish suddenly during a training session or sparring match if he is offended.

    Gindaka's inner world, where Shin can contact him through meditation, is a great open field, with tall, gray-grassed plains rolling out endlessly in all directions. The sky is densely clouded, and the air is tinged with the crisp cool of autumn. In the center, a leafless tree stands, where Gindaka perches as he speaks with Shin.


    Sealed:
    Gindaka, when sealed, takes on the form of a simple katana. The blade is a dark steely gray, and the handle is simple and unadorned, wrapped with black and gray fabric. The only ornamentation is a simple engraving on the blade, just above the crossguard, of a hawk in flight.

    Gindaka's scabbard is similarly straightforward, an unadorned wooden affair painted black and varnished to a glossy sheen.

    Shikai

    Activation Phrase: Waro, Gindaka (Divide, Gindaka.)

    Appearance: Gindaka shortens slightly and loses its curved katana blade, now taking the form of a straight-edged ninja-to approximately 2 and a half feet in length. The engraving of the hawk, now more intricate, remains on the blade, which now has a silver sheen that almost glows.

    Abilities:

    By placing a hand on Gindaka's blade and forcing some of his reiatsu into the sword, Shin can break the blade at any point he wishes. When this happens, there is a burst of white/silver light, and a Jinmosha ("Clone") appears, with both it and its creator possessing their own full length Gindaka.

    Shin has trained himself up to the point that he can create up to five Jinmosha at any time. Jinmosha are not clones in the traditional sense of the word. The are not seperate beings with consciousnesses and wills of their own, but rather an extension of Shin himself, externalized into a new body. What any one of them sees, Shin sees. What any one of them does, Shin does. Shin has attempted to explain the sensation of being in multiple places and bodies at once to other Shinigami, but the experience always loses something in the description. Learning to fight in multiple bodies has been an arduous task, and it has taken Shin years to reach this point.

    The total reiatsu of Shin, plus any number of Jinmosha is always equal to the reiatsu of Shin himself. By breaking off various portions of his blade, Shin can put as much or as little of his reiatsu into each (ie breaking the sword in the middle to put half of his power into a strong Jinmosha to help him attack an opponent from two angles, or breaking off only the tip to put 5% into the creation of a weak Jinmosha to function as a scout or messenger).

    If a Jinmosha should be killed, it will vanish in a bright flash of white light, taking the form of a silvery-white spirit hawk which will attempt to fly to Shin and merge with him. Until the hawk rejoins him, he will be unable to access the reiatsu he used to create the clone that spawned it. The hawks are ethereal, and cannot be cut or destroyed by physical force, but it might be possible to destroy them with some kind of reiatsu destroying weapon, or restrain them with spirit binding spells.

    If Shin himself should die, all of the Jinmosha will die as well.

    Appearance

    Standing at 6'3, and 142 pounds, Arthur has the kind physique most people attach to a scarecrow, rather then a human being. His Blonde hair is usually a mess, sticking out at strange angles. His eyes are a calm green, and usually sit above a vaguely distracted face. Atop his nose sits a pair of glasses, round, giving him an Owlish appearance. He's a textbook scholar.

    His normally dress is an innumerable number of tweed suits he owns, all of them an off color of brown. They can be told apart only by the Elbow patches they bear, running from green, to red, hitting black, white, and blue along the way. If he owns a Quincy Uniform, he's never been seen in it.

    Personality

    A kindly man, if a little bit foolish. He's easily distracted, always looking at things from different angles, to see if he can discover some secret hidden within them. However, he will generally help with anything he can find. Asking him a question will get either a prompt answer, or a discontented mumbling, as he scurries off to go find the answer. He is a Scholar and a teacher before anything else.

    Of course, that's only outside of his duties as a Quincy. His demeanor changes, the years he has spent training taking over as he loses the distracted air. He is a ruthless combatant, looking to destroy his enemy utterly. He doesn't play games, or brag, or anything like that. He's got no concept of honor, or unfairness. If you are a threat to Mortals, he'll use whatever means he believes is needed to annihilate you. He protects those he believes he can.

    Quincy Abilities

    Arthur is Quincy, and a skilled one at that. His Cross is a weighty thing, forged of Pure Iron, hand forged. The Bow that extends from it lacks the Ephemeral quality of some Quincy’s Bows. Instead, it is pure Iron, like the Cross it takes shape from. In Melee, Arthur can slam the bow into his foe. While it isn't his most effective attack, it does usually hurt. He can only fire one arrow at a time from it, but he can draw and release so swiftly that his hands blur. The Arrows themselves have the look and feel of Cold Iron. Though not as effective against Fae as an actual Pure Iron would be, it has some of their quality. It can pierce Fae Armor, and harm the creatures.

    His Arrows have another quality, far more concerning to the average being. He is capable of changing their shape in flight, turning them into slender needles that pierce defenses, or into weighty rams that smash into them. He also has one final trick. He can detonate the Arrows, forcing a spike of Reiryoku into them that causes them to detonate. This trick costs him though, and will quickly exhaust the Scholar if he isn't careful.

    He never learned to use the Purifying Arrows. The British Quincys never changed over. Their involvement with the Shinigami Wars was minor at best. The Fae care very little if the Humans use Soul Destroying Arrows or not. They like to watch them dance.

    Skills

    Arthur is a scholar, and extremely knowledgeable. He has a working knowledge of 4 different languages besides English (German, Greek, Japanese, and Chinese), and can translate others, given enough time. He knows quite a bit about the history of various places and times, both human and mystic. Also, he knows about Philosophy. A lot. And given the chance, he will tell you about it. He'd much rather do that then fight.

    Also, he plays the Violin and the Fiddle rather well.

    Name: Furiwake Yori (振分 頼; First name meaning 'Trust')

    Reatsu/Speech Color: Hot Orange

    Appearance: Yori looks like nothing special as far as Shinigami go; from his plain black Shihakshou to the standard-looking Zanpaktou carried plainly at his hip, there is nothing substantial to distinguish himself from other Soul Reapers of his Division, or even of other Divisions altogether. Yori does not stand out from the crowd of Unseated around him much at all. ...At first glance.

    Yori's hair is naturally Platinum blonde, so close to white that it almost looks Bleached*. Appropriately to the color, his hair is thin and feathery, so light that the softest breeze will cause it to sway, and the tiniest static charge stands it on end. His eyes are a fierce shade of blue, though they are often clouded and distracted-feeling... when he's not in combat, at least. Yori wears a simple, unornamented black choker around his neck; beyond his ordinary Shihakshou and perfectly normal-looking Zanpaktou, this completes his uncomplicated ensemble. One other thing of note, Yori likes holding his eyes closed when he is not doing anything or when waiting on someone, and even when he is active his Left eye remains closed often as not out of habit. Yori has displayed a certain level of Light Sensitivity, particularly on his Left side, that is not much explained, or even noticed by very many people. The behaviour of his left eye, particularly when opening suddenly, can denote surprise, a new seriousness and determination toward his current goal, or a variety of other emotions to people who know to look for it. This subtlety is lost on most people.

    Though Yori's outward appearance does not seem at all unusual, some intangible sense about the ordinary-seeming reaper sets him apart from others seemingly like him after only a little while of knowing him. Yori's Reatsu is fiery and hard to tame, and yet has a distinct tremor throughout it, an uneasy blend of emotion that paints his aura and makes him seem conflicted and unfocused. The reatsu itself is quite unique and easy to pick out even in a crowd or from a great distance away, due to its volatile nature.

    Personality: Yori's outward personality is a perfect fit for, and is well described by, the impression left by his Reatsu. Yori can be described as having a Fiery disposition, though this shows itself in a variety of ways. Yori doesn't smile much, but he is mostly pleasant and respectful (enough) to his superiors, and only slightly sarcastic and teasing of his equals. Once combat breaks out, his smoldering personality burns forth with extra brightness; this can be seen as an undesirable to some, but Yori's squad in the 13th sees his tendencies toward aggression and sometimes even Anger to be a Strength rather than a weakness.

    Part of Yori's frustration stems from his own strength, or rather, his own weakness. Though he is in possession of what is potentially a quite powerful Fire type Zanpaktou, and has even learned its name unlike most Unseated Shinigami, he has been completely unable to control it enough to achieve Shikai, and is therefore left wielding his Sealed Zanpaktou alone... exactly the same as any other Unseated Shinigami without a Shikai at all. Though he still appreciates the work he together with his squad can do at his current level... He is convinced that he was meant to do bigger things.

    Yori can often seem distant or divided in attention-- in fact, one could say that he is plagued by indecision, all too often caught between two options and troubled with trying to figure out which is the right one. This is partly because of his somewhat less than supportive relationship with his Zanpaktou, which can keep him from focusing on a topic, but only in part. However, despite all of his shortcomings and flaws, Yori is a struggling and at times flickering light for Good in the world. His flaws, even being as they are, have not succeeded yet at holding him back from fighting in the defense of innocence. His indecision, though chronic, is fueled by an almost overwhelming desire to make the Right choice. And his dissatisfaction with his Zanpaktou and desire for more power, though self-conflicting, is rooted in his desire to fight back the darkness with all the strength he can muster... Or more.

    Background: Yori lived for several years in the Rukongai before his talent as a Soul Reaper was discovered and he enrolled in the Shinigami Academy. Though his Reatsu level and unpolished skill level suggested that he would be a strong cantidate, when it came time to take hold of his own Zanpaktou instead of using the practice swords that all academy students use until that point, Yori fell monumentally behind the curve. From that point on, though his apparent potential did not diminish, Yori struggled with training and communing with his Zanpakou spirit. This went largely unexplained by the academy instructors; even though he, by all rights, should have taken posession of Second Release, a form given only to one Shinigami in a hundred, he graduated from the Academy as an Unseated with no shikai (though with decent proficiency in certain types of Kidou, at least).

    For the first 30 or 40 years of his life as a Shinigami Yori was assigned to the 5th Division, but his sometimes angry personality and somewhat abrasive attitude toward his superiors got him in trouble with regular frequency. Several of his classmates who scored lower than even he did on entrance exams were now 8th or 9th seat, while he himself was not Seated at all. This made it difficult for him to render proper respect to the people that he believed were weaker than he, by rights, should have been. 30 years ago Yori was transferred to the Mortal World under the 13th Division. Though the transfer came as a surprise, it was not an entirely unpleasant change, as Yori quickly found that he enjoyed working and fighting with the 13th more than the 5th had ever appealed to him. He has been stationed in and around J-city since, fighting quietly in the background, trying to understand why his Zanpaktou behaves the way it does and hoping that one day his break will come...

    Kidou User: Yori's strongest subject in the Academy, even above Melee combat, which is something that surprised him, was Kidou. Particularly in his affinity for Fire type Kidou, Yori has continued to develop and improve his Kidou since then, likely on the level of a 4th or 5th seat so far as proficiency goes, or even above that when using Fire kidou. This is mostly because he found it easier to practice and improve Kidou, which depended only on himself, than try to train as much with his Zanpaktou, which for some reason does not like cooperating...

    Average Mobility: Yori is generally on the same level or perhaps slightly above most Unseated when it comes to Hohō, or agility arts. He has not yet learned how to Shunpo, but uses Airwalk effortlessly enough.

    Swordsman: Since his Zanpaktou will not give him access to Shikai release, Yori has worked and fought using his sealed sword alone. Despite the sword's attitude toward it, Yori has reached reasonable skill with the use of a sword alone, a skill that translates across to the use of any sword, not just a Zanpaktou.

    Name: Casull

    Sealed Form: Casull's sealed form is quite standard, of nearly exactly identical shape, length, and sharpness as a normal Unseated's Zanpaktou. The hilt does have an unusual design across the Ito of the handle, patterned between red and black almost reminiscent of Flames. This pattern seems to shift very slowly over time.

    Appearance: Anita is somewhat taller than average, and also considerably overweight. Coupled with the fact that she has the appearance of a foreigner, this makes her altogether more conspicuous than she would like to be. Her skin is fair, though not exceedingly pale, and tans easily. Her eyes are a pale, icy blue, and her shoulder-length hair is a strange mixture of blonde and brown, an unpleasant color that could best be described as ditchwater. She keeps it tied back with a kerchief knotted around her head that gives her a rather impoverished appearance. Her face is broad, with plump cheeks and a stubborn set to her jaw, her mouth often set in a mulish line. Her right eyebrow has been pierced with a nondescript silver ring, the only visible sign of her unusual past.

    She generally wears an assortment of ill-fitting clothes that appear to have been intended for someone a great deal thinner. Favouring shirts emblazoned with cartoon characters or obnoxious slogans, as well as sweatpants that are either grey or threadbare or both, her wardrobe is very sparse. Her idea of formal clothing consists of a button-down shirt that looks as though it has seen better days, and a pair of torn jeans. She always wears the same pair of tattered black sneakers, often with the laces untied. Lately, she always seems to have several bandages on her hands and face, most notably a thick white gauze that seems permanently wrapped around her left arm. It conceals a bite wound that she received while caring for one of the many Hollows that seem magnetically attracted to her. Unbeknown to her, however, this wound is not as inconsequential as the others, having begun to fester and rot, the flesh blackening. This blackness is slowly beginning to spread up her arm. Unknown to most is the fact that she wears contact lenses, being quite nearsighted, as is the fact that she has a slightly deformed tattoo of an intricate butterfly design across her upper back. This is something that she herself has all but forgotten. Overall, her appearance is rather unkempt and nondescript, and her clothing often gives the impression that she is younger than she truly is, displaying the immaturity of a woman who does not always act her age.

    Personality:
    Anita is a very lazy individual with no real ambition, and is rarely ever dedicated to any cause or goal. She can be friendly when she decides that it’s worth the effort, but more often than not she is rather mean, often making snide remarks and being generally sarcastic. Mistrusting of overt generosity and never open and honest about her life, she has been jaded by her unfortunate past. She is unhappy with her lifestyle, but has become used to it, resigned to have it be her lot in life. Anita is a feminist with no interest in men whatsoever. Overly sensitive about her weight, she does nothing to rectify the issue, which can be attributed to her laziness. She always seems to be eating something, particularly when she is nervous or upset. Though not a violent person, she will occasionally lash out, either verbally or with some cooking utensil, at someone who irritates her, generally without warning. Some of her erratic behaviour can be attributed to her spiritual awareness, of course, and though she believes herself to be insane, she is careful never to let others notice this. She does not enjoy her current impoverished state, and, as she has very low morals, would do nearly anything if the price is right. Despite wanting to earn and save money, she always seems to end up spending it all on food, as well as trying to get drunk in local bars. She is easily tempted by alcohol, which can be problematic considering that her apartment is located directly above a rather disreputable bar.

    Abilities: Anita is a completely average individual in terms of her speed, agility and endurance, these being exactly what one would expect for a woman of her weight and level of physical fitness, though she is admittedly somewhat stronger than an average mortal woman. She has essentially no combat abilities whatsoever, having never received any training. If forced into a fight situation, she defends herself with a battered kitchen knife stolen from the restaurant where she works. Being spiritually aware, she sees all manner of spiritual beings, and has from a very young age, but the truth of what she is seeing has never been explained to her, so she attributes it to insanity. She is also a fairly talented chef, having worked for many years at ‘The Lucky Cat’, a run-down hovel of a noodle restaurant that owes its survival solely to her cooking. Also, Anita has an almost unnaturally high tolerance for alcohol, rarely getting very drunk, or even hung over, no matter how much she drinks. This can be a source of frustration for her at times, especially after a particularly miserable day.

    Hollows:
    Hollows seem to be attracted to Anita, with there always being at least two in her general vicinity at any one time. Despite this, she has only ever killed one Hollow, through pure luck, and only because it directly threatened her life. She sees them as being somewhat like dogs in terms of their mentality, as she knows no better, and has been fortunate enough never to encounter any stronger than a basic Hollow. All those she encounters seem to be rather small, and with generally animalistic appearances, and are generally extremely weak. Most Hollows are only mildly hostile toward her, and some have even been quite friendly. Though they do attack her on occasion, she sees it as being nothing, and only retaliates very slightly unless her life is in danger. These attacks are usually superficial and very minor, and it seems that those Hollows that have attacked her become far friendlier towards her in the long term than those that have not.

    There are three Hollows that seem to have an exceptionally close bond with Anita, and at least one seems to be with her at all times. She very much appreciates their company, and has gone so far as to care for them, often ‘feeding’ them with the souls of assorted small vermin captured in the restaurant, and they stay with her in her apartment at times. The oldest, and the only one that she has named, is Saki, a Hollow about the size of a housecat, that has she first met the year after she arrived in Japan. It appears rat-like, though it has armoured scales that are a sickly shade of green, as opposed to fur. It also has a prehensile tail and a vaguely simian mask. It is rather mischievous, and acts in an almost affectionate manner toward Anita. A more recent addition is a much larger Hollow that appears as a giant centipede, roughly eighteen feet in length. It is the color of dried blood, and has a particularly grotesque mask, featuring a vast, gaping maw lined with razor-sharp teeth. It is fiercely protective of her, and very loyal. Though not always near her, it is able to move incredibly quickly to her aid, scuttling on twisted, oversized insect legs in rather disconcerting manner. Finally, there is a strange lupine Hollow that has taken to following her around in recent months, and is responsible for the bite on her arm. It is approximately four feet in length, with shaggy black fur, and has a wolf-like mask. It differs from a normal wolf in that it has six legs, however, rather than the usual four, and in that it’s ‘fur’ is a rippling mass of blackness. Though it has spent very little time around her, it is nearly as tame as the others, and often runs circles around her in a decidedly unthreatening manner. It seems playful and almost juvenile.. All three are very important to her, and she cares about them more deeply than she will admit. Other Hollows occasionally spend time around her, but invariably leave after a few days, never lingering long, and are temporary additions to her retinue. It should be noted that the three hollows that form her constant ‘retinue’ are extremely weak, and that their combined riatsu is roughly equivalent to that of one standard-level Hollow.

    Though no-one, least of all Anita herself, understands the manner in which her ability to ‘tame’ hollows functions, it can be explained thusly. Rather than being exuded without direction, the spiritual energy that she possesses as a spiritually aware human is all concentrated within her flesh (also the reason that her spiritual power has not been noticed by any Shinigami). This, coupled with an innate biological quality of her flesh, makes it intoxicating and addictive to Hollows, and presumably to Arrancar as well. Any Hollow that bites her, thus consuming some small amount of her flesh and blood, immediately begins to succumb to its calming and pacifying effect. Anita’s ‘scent’ to the Hollows in her immediate vicinity also has a similar calming effect, though to a lesser degree. This proximity effect is only temporary. This ‘scent’ is also what initially attracts the Hollows to her, as it also possesses some of the addictive properties of her flesh, albeit to a lesser degree (think of it as a much weaker and more limited type of Hollow bait).

    Over a period of time ranging from several minutes to several days depending on the amount of flesh consumed, the Hollow becomes susceptible to the influence of her emotions. Though it can hardly be classified as a form of control, as it is quite rudimentary, it allows the attuned Hollows to sense her emotional state and react accordingly. Though the strength of their responses is directly related to the strength of Anita’s feelings, they are always fundamentally the same. When she is in pain or afraid, all attuned Hollows that are able immediately come to her aid, assisting her in any way that they can. When she feels anger that is directed at a certain individual, the Hollows will attack the individual, not relenting until her anger has dissipated. When she feels depression or sadness, the Hollows attempt to comfort her, and when she is in a good mood, the Hollows are similarly content. This empathetic link slowly drains her spiritual energy over time, and this constant drain, which occurs so long as even a single Hollow is attuned to her, may account for her constant eating as she unconsciously attempts to replenish this energy. The more Hollows are attuned to her at one time, the greater the energy drain becomes, and though the total number that she can control at any one time has not been ascertained, the limit is likely around fifty or sixty individuals, provided that she does not want the effects of the energy drain to become deadly. Though a Hollow can attempt to resist her control, all but the most powerful or strong-willed succumb, and the only way that the control can be broken is if the Hollow dies, or her spiritual energy is completely depleted, in which case the Hollows will almost certainly turn against, kill and devour Anita.

    As Anita’s abilities develop, she will become able to directly summon Hollows from the Forest of Menos. This is possible through a concentrated burst of spiritual energy, released through a conscious effort to summon a ‘guardian’ or ‘protector’, and functions in a similar way to Hollow bait, though it only summons a single Hollow. The Hollow arrives through a Garganta, so this ability will not function where there are Garganta blockers. Depending on the amount of spiritual energy released, the strength of the Hollow summoned will vary, ranging from a weak, tiny basic Hollow to a powerful Gillian, with a greater amount of energy summoning a stronger creature. The Hollow summoned is immediately subject to her emotional control, becoming automatically attuned, and will fight for or defend her as is necessary. Summoning a Hollow in this way drains a portion of her spiritual energy equivalent to the strength of the Hollow, in addition to the normal energy drain that is caused by having an attuned Hollow. It is fully possible that she may be able to summon an Adjuchas, but this would result in the complete drain of her spiritual energy, and there would be a fair chance that the creature would turn on her, rather than attacking the intended target. Summoned Hollows cannot be sent back, nor can they leave of their own accord. Once one has fulfilled the task for which it has been summoned, it remains as part of her retinue of Hollows until it is killed.

    Past: Anita is originally from Canada, where she lived a fairly average life in a dysfunctional family until the age of sixteen. After being disowned by her frustrated parents, she took what little savings she hand and moved to Japan, giving no reason other than wanting to be as far away from her horrible family as possible. After a short-lived rebellious phase, she settled down in a small town just north of J-City, living in a shabby apartment above a noisy bar, all that she can afford on her awful salary. She hated it, and still does, but has become more resigned to this as being her future over the past several years. Having lived in Japan for twelve years, she is fluent in both Japanese and English. Everything about her mundane life is boring, shabby, worn-out and frustrating, and even the Hollows do little to distract from this overwhelming sense of mediocrity. Her complaints can be easily summed up as follows; her job pays next-to-nothing despite the long hours that she works; she has very little money, barely enough to live on; the drunks in the bar keep her awake at night because she can hear them through the floor of her room; and everybody always stares at her because she appears foreign, even after having lived around her for the last twelve years. Her life isn’t a happy one, but she can truthfully say that things are better here than they were in Canada.

    Appearance -
    She appears to be a young woman in her early twenties, of average height. Her figure is nothing to speak of, and could be described as pear-shaped, with an unremarkable bust and rather wide hips, and she is rather on the thin side, though not to a greatly so. This is the extent of her normality, however. Her skin is quite literally white, being completely colorless, and it seems to shimmer slightly in the light, though this is actually the gleam of thousands of minute scars that cover nearly every exposed centimeter of her skin. Elegantly layered hair in a pale shade of silvery grey falls past her shoulders, with the layers becoming shorter around her face, framing her features. Her face has a delicate, vulnerable appearance, with high cheekbones and an overly small nose, and her colorless cheeks are almost always tearstained, or glistening with fresh tears. Her eyes are a dark grey, and framed with long, thick lashes of the same color as her hair, and her lips are a pale shade of grey, very well-formed and elegant, often curved into a wistful smile. When she so chooses, she can have a very expressive face, but for the majority of the time, her expressions are nothing to speak of. The scent of lavender hangs in the air around her, tinged with undertones of dried blood and brandy. Though not altogether unpleasant, it can be rather unsettling, and has a rather depressing effect.

    She wears a long white gown of fragile, silken material that trails on the floor as she walks, and is cut to flatter her figure. The neckline is low enough to expose her collarbone but not display any cleavage, and runs between two intricately tied Celtic knots, one on each shoulder, that serve as the straps of the gown. The garment is sleeveless, and exposes the majority of her back, mainly for the sake of convenience in her Resurreccion, as well as being form-fitting around her torso, with the skirt being looser and more free-flowing. Her hollow hole is hidden by her gown, being set low in her back, at the base of her spine. A shawl of the same material is wrapped loosely around her shoulders, and trails to roughly the same length as her gown. She wears nothing on her feet, not that this is evident, as her feet are hidden by the long gown. In her hair, she wears what appears to be a perfect white feather, tucked behind her right ear, but this is in fact her mask fragment, actually being made of very finely shaped bone. Around her neck she wears a single white, unblemished sphere of bone, the size of her thumbnail and highly polished, strung on a fine silver chain. This is the only jewelery that she ever wears, and this unassuming pendant is actually her Zanpakto. She never removes it under any circumstances, and the chain is incredibly difficult to break, especially as it is closely fitted around her neck, being more of a choker than an actual necklace.

    Personality -
    She is always in a state of perpetual depression, so deep that nothing can lift it. Though it varies from day to day, her moods ranging from apathetic to suicidal rage to incoherent, depressed sobbing, she is never anything other than miserable. She is rather reclusive by nature, preferring to be alone rather than in the company of others, hence why she lives in the Tower. She is actually rather shy, though she does not allow this fact to be widely known, and is most comfortable when surrounded by depression and angst, though she never deliberately attempts to make others feel this way. Her very presence, however, acts as a depressant to most sane people. She speaks in a rather unkind and insincere manner, and though she is philosophical and eloquent, talking at great length about subjects that interest her, she does not waste words on pleasantries such as formal titles and politeness. When asked for her opinion always gives a worst-case scenario or is as excessively negative as possible, though this is not actually intentional. Being mildly claustrophobic, she prefers to be outdoors, especially in the vast open space of the desert that is Hueco Mundo. She derives some small measure of enjoyment from music, though it does not make her happy in any sense of the word. She herself is an incredible singer, with a hauntingly beautiful voice, though most of what she sings lacks discernible lyrics, or is extremely sorrowful.

    Some might describe her as being a masochist, thanks to the fact that she is unable to properly feel physical pain or much of anything at all. All the sensations she feels are numbed, to the point that even a severe wound causes her to feel practically nothing at all, and she also cannot feel pleasurable sensations. Essentially, her body is numb. Strangely enough, she longs to feel pain, and thus she checks whenever possible, cutting herself on anything that may have a remotely sharp edge, occasionally even asking other Arrancar to cut her with their swords, hence her scars. Through this she has become an inadvertent masochist. This strange ability also has combat implications, as it means that she is only stopped by fatal wounds, or by being forcibly prevented from moving, possibly by having her both of her legs broken, something which has happened to her in the past.

    Abilities -
    Besides her unique inability to feel pain, she possesses the standard Arrancar abilities. Her cero is pure white, being considerably faster than normal, and of above-average strength, and seems to be fired from the area of her collarbone on which the pearl of her necklace rests, making it seem as though the beam is fired from the pearl itself. She is not capable of using a Gran Ray cero. Her Hierro is far below average, and she suppresses it even further, not wanting any attacks that could somehow cause her to feel pain being blocked by her Hierro. Her Sonido is generally weak, and as she almost never uses it, she is out of practice, not being able to use it more than a few times in succession. Her Pesquia, however, is far more sensitive than normal, to the point where is she must actually focus to tune it out, especially when there is a great deal of strong spiritual pressure around her, actually causing her to develop migraine headaches at inconvenient times. Unskilled at Garganta, she rarely utilizes it as a form of transportation or movement unless absolutely necessary, preferring to use the wings granted to her by her Resurreccion.

    Zanpakto - Mourning Dove

    Mourning Dove takes the unassuming shape of the pearl of polished white bone which she wears on a short silver chain around her neck. As it is in such a non-traditional form, those who have never seen it released are led to believe that she does not possess a Zanpakto at all, as she carries no conventional weapons. This seemingly innocent bead is just that when sealed, possessing no abilities and giving no hints as to what powers she may possess.

    Resurreccion: “Weep, Mourning Dove.”
    When she enters Resurreccion, her Zanpakto glows brightly for a moment, then fades, in a rather anticlimactic manner. As the light fades, a whirlwind builds around her, enclosing her completely during the moments when she transforms. She controls how the whirlwind is dispelled, and can choose not to dispel it at all, but her preference seems to be simply to step from the cocoon of air, letting it dissolve to nothing.

    The most obvious change in her Resurreccion form is a pair of huge avian wings that sprout from her shoulder blades. Having a fourteen-foot wingspan, these wings are very similar to those of a dove, but on a far larger scale, and are not pure white, but rather have a greyish tinge. When closed, they nestle between her shoulder blades, the ends trailing on the floor behind her, and seem unremarkable unless fully open, particularly when she is in flight. Clusters of small, white, downy feathers of bone appear on her shoulders, cheeks and forearms, and completely cover her back, growing more thickly around her wings. In her hair, a band of white bone feathers appears, an extension of her mask fragment, holding back her hair in the manner of a headband, twined through with strands of pearls. Her necklace of pearls becomes far more elaborate, more pearls forming until they form a complete choker around her neck, and two more strands appear, slightly longer and looser than the original, comprised of a greater number of pearls of varying sizes, so that she now wears three necklaces.

    Aside from these obvious changes, her bones become very similar to those of the birds that she resembles, becoming hollow and extremely fragile, to the point that one of her arms could be broken very easily with an unarmed strike. Her fingers and toes change very subtly to become clawed, though these claws are not long enough to inflict severe damage, only to pierce the flesh of her opponent. She rarely uses them in combat at all, however. She can remain in Resurreccion for a very short time, only a few minutes, despite all her training and practice, and she has a tendency to change back unexpectedly, often when she is in flight.

    Air Control -
    Her pearl necklaces grant her an incredibly precise control over air currents. She controls the air through thought alone, not requiring verbal commands or gestures, and her control area is very large, at roughly a cubic mile. She can influence air temperature and wind direction on a vast scale, which is very useful in conjunction with her flight ability, and, with some additional focus, can direct wind gusts of any magnitude at any point within her control area, shaping the currents as she pleases. She can also create focused blasts of air, of any size, with greater cutting power than that of the sharpest sword blade, but they are difficult for her to control with a great deal of precision, though that does not mean that they are not a useful combat tool. Her control over air requires a great deal of energy to utilize, and she often uses refrains from using it even in situations when it could be useful. She is capable of creating a tornado large enough to destroy an entire city with a mere thought, but this takes enough energy to drain her completely, forcing her out of Resurreccion. The greater the amount of air being controlled, the more focus she requires to shape it to her will, but there is little that she cannot do given sufficient time. Her degree of focus seems to increase when she touches the beads of her necklace. All her air manipulations have no visual effects, or any unnecessarily flashy displays, and the air currents remain invisible unless they contract airborne debris that make their movements evident. The air currents never become tangible, remaining insubstantial save for the split second during which her focused cutting blasts contact with their target before dissipating.

    Flight -
    Her wings grant her the ability of flight, but it is comparable more so to an eagle or other predatory bird than a dove. The size of her wings limits her agility in flight, though she can control the air currents to allow her to perform seemingly impossible maneuvers in mid-air, and, much of the time, her flight depends on her manipulation of air to a much greater extent than the actual movements of her wings. She is still capable of flight using only her wings, but with a greater degree of clumsiness and far less maneuverability. Without manipulating the air, she can fly for up to an hour without tiring or needing to land, relying solely on the modified muscular structure of her back that allows her to flap her wings and control them in a manner very similar to that of a real bird, not that she is ever in Resurreccion for long enough to have pushed her limits. When not in combat, her flight is relatively slow, consisting more of using her wings to soar on thermal currents than anything, but in combat or dangerous situations, her flight is swift, wings flapping so quickly that she can travel at speeds of nearly 100km/hr. She can take off and land without any need for a ‘runway’, needing only enough room to fully spread her wings, and can do so without manipulating the air, though this does ease the process. It is a highly useful ability, but some may say that she squanders it, generally using it for menial transportation and personal convenience.

    Cry of the Dove -
    When she screams in this form, the sound is strangely musical, and reminiscent of the soft cry of the dove. Each scream causes all who hear it to become miserable and depressed, with all but the most strong-willed individuals reduced to incoherent sobbing. They become vulnerable, allowing her to easily destroy them while they are thus incapacitated. Each successive scream is louder and brings more people under its influence. The sound of the cry can carry for miles, borne by the air she manipulates, and the more people are under its influence, the more powerful it becomes. It serves no other purpose than to spread misery and make opponents vulnerable to her attacks. She can control how far the sound carries. Unfortunately, she herself is not immune to the effects of the cry, and using it greatly impairs her combat ability, as well as her ability to make rational decisions. Its effects can only be avoided by completely muffling one’s hearing, as it is unaffected by loud noise and conditions that would normally render such a sound inaudible.

    The Pearls -
    The pearls on the three strands of her Zanpakto necklace are of varying types, and some, though not all, have particular abilities that she can activate by touching that pearl and focusing for a moment. There are four special types of abilities available to her in this form. She knows instinctively what each pearl does, and can sense where each pearl containing a particular ability is located, as their distribution is random, and varies greatly. She can use the abilities of each pearl once per release, and they are destroyed when their powers have been exhausted. There are a limited number of pearls of each type available to her at one time, but they all regenerate and are replenished the next time she releases, so their abilities are not lost. She can use them in rapid succession, or even use multiple pearls at the same time, and their abilities enhance and coincide with her offensive and defensive strategies. The more powerful the ability of a pearl, the fewer of them are present at any one time, and these numbers do seem to vary slightly depending on her level of fatigue when entering release. The more tired or injured she is, the fewer powerful pearls are available for her to use.

    Shrapnel – There are normally around eight shrapnel pearls among those on her necklace. These are the smallest pearls, and when activated, the pearl shatters into dozens of minute, razor-sharp shards of bone. Very difficult to see, these shards are caught up the air currents that whip around her, and she uses them to lacerate the opponent. They can cut through clothing and flesh, and, being so incredibly minute, are next to impossible to dodge. She will often use several shrapnel pearls at once, for maximum effect, and will surround the opponent in a vortex of air that will shred their flesh. These shards also tend to lodge deep into the skin of the opponent, causing no small amount of discomfort, and can be used as a sort of barrier when she creates a wall of air laced with lacerating particles around her, deterring attacks from those who do not wish to be scratched to death. They are not physically capable of creating a shield or stopping a blow, having little mass, but they can certainly cause an attacker to regret their actions.

    Shield – There are usually at least five shield pearls on her necklace, and are some of the largest pearls. They activate much more rapidly than the other pearls, and, when activated, expand to form a cocoon of semi-opaque white light around her entire body, which lasts for several seconds. This shield can deflect weaker bala and cero, though a portion of the her energy proportionate to the strength of the attack is drained. Each shield can deflect two low-Numeros-level attacks on average, depending on their strength, before shattering into fragments of light that dissolve within seconds. She can activate one fast enough to block a cero of average speed even as it is being fired, and can activate them in succession when necessary. Stronger attacks shatter the cocoon on contact, though it deflects as much of the attack as possible before it is destroyed, meaning that she is only hit with the weaker backlash. These shields have no effect whatsoever on physical attacks, which penetrate it as though it does not exist, but do not destroy the shield or drain its energy. Unfortunately, these shields have a tendency to fail when she is drained of energy or tired, which can be extremely inconvenient and have painful consequences.

    Healing – There are approximately three healing pearls among those on her necklace at any given time. These pearls are of average size, and when activated, the pearl will glow silvery-white for a second and then vanish from her necklace, and the wound/damaged area will glow with an answering light before beginning to heal. Each pearl can heal one moderate wound or a few minor scratches. She can either choose to direct their healing ability to a specific injury, but if she does not, they target the most obvious of her wounds. The healing is painless only because she cannot feel the pain, and is also rather slow, with it taking between two and three minutes for flesh to regenerate and small wounds to seal. This depends on the size of the wound. She can use all of her healing pearls at once to heal a larger or more serious wound, but they are ineffectual on very serious or life-threatening injuries. The healing cannot be prevented or halted once the pearl has been activated, and they can only heal her, their effects being non-transferable. Each cut that is healed seals with a thin, gleaming white scar that does not fade, and is permanently etched into her skin. If necessary, these pearls can also repair internal organs and bones, though she rarely utilises them in this manner.

    Hollow Summoning – There is normally one of these pearls among those on the strands of her necklace, and it is carved with a delicate feather pattern. When activated, the pearl splits in two, each half becoming a feather of bone that drifts to the ground, unable to be deviated from its course. When each feather lands, it vanishes, leaving a small hemisphere of white light that rapidly grows to several feet in diameter, before bursting open to reveal a massive, grotesque, vaguely avian hollow. Though they appear slightly different with each summoning, they are always at least nine feet in height, and are a mix of avian and humanoid features, with white or grey feathers, and always have feathered wings, beaks and talons of some sort. They are Gillian-class hollows, and seem to be more intelligent than average. In actuality, this is because she directly controls the actions of her summoned Hollows, meaning that they fight less effectively when her concentration is broken, and that she cannot use her other abilities with the same degree of focus while controlling them. She is capable of controlling both simultaneously. They are as typical hollows in every other way, and when killed, vanish in a burst of white light. If she does not control them, they attack her current opponent, and will not turn on her. She can also dispel them at will, in which case they vanish immediately in a burst of white light. The hollows summoned retain non-fatal wounds from past battles.

    The rest of the pearls on her necklaces do not have particular or notable abilities, but these pearls, and there are nearly too many of them to count, serve as the focus for her enhanced Bala. Her Bala functions as normal, and she can use them freely, but they are considerably more powerful than average. Each one fires from the pearl that was used as the focus for that particular blast, and that pearl then disintegrates immediately after the Bala has been fired. These require no more energy to use than a regular Bala, and indeed, in the event that all of these pearls have been used, she is still capable of utilizing Bala of regular strength, that fire from her mouth. In regular combat, her enhanced Bala has the advantage over a regular one only in terms of power, charging and firing at the same speed as a regular one. She favors the use of her enhanced version, for the sole reason that it gives her a very slight edge in combat situations.

    History, Limitations and Unusual Provisions

    Before she underwent the process of shinigamification to become an Arrancar, Echo was a hollow that was being used as a test subject by the 12th division, in a time when the experiments were far less ethical. As a hollow, she had been fitted with a device that restrained her spiritual energy, and was subjected to various torturous procedures, until she finally tore off her mask in a desperate effort to be free, becoming a naturally created Arrancar. She managed, somehow, to escape to the deserts of Hueco Mundo, and joined the ranks of the Numeros. She ascended to the rank of Septima Espada at a young age, but was later defeated by Isara Wessmer. She became a Privaron, but was not content to remain in Las Noches having been thus disgraced, fleeing into the desert only months after her defeat, unable to bear the shame of her failure. She has lived in the ruins of an ancient tower ever since, alone and cut off from the world. Having not had contact with other Arrancar for decades, she has spent her time training and lamenting her fate. She wishes to rejoin the Espada, as some small part of her still holds memories from her time as a hollow, and longs to take revenge on the Soul Society, and the 12th division in particular. She is unaware of her inner desires, however, knowing only that there is something that compels her to regain her place among the most powerful forces in Hueco Mundo. There is a reason, however, that she knows this to be an impossible aspiration.

    Though strong, Echo was created from a flawed, damaged hollow, and the spiritual restraints that bound her prevented her transformation into an Arrancar from being completely successful. Her strange, white, colorless flesh, and unique inability to feel pain are as the result of her imperfect transformation, as is the fact that her Zanpakto manifests in such a non-traditional form, rather than as a weapon. Essentially, her mind and spiritual energies were damaged in the process, meaning that she is trapped in her current state, somewhere between hollow and true Arrancar, still having one-eighth of her hollow-self not sealed into her Zanpakto, but rather melded into her humanoid form. As a result, she is unable to increase the strength of her abilities no matter how hard, or for how long, she trains. This also means that she can never achieve the second stage of her Resurreccion, the main reason that she has given up hope of ever rejoining the Espada. Her chosen name, Echo Quinlan, reflects the hopelessness and desperation she feels, meaning literally 'Nothing Woman'.

    Through considerable experimentation on her unique state, Erscheinung Von Geister created an elixir of sorts for her, that allows her to become a complete Arrancar for the limited time period of twenty-four hours. The elixir is a thick black liquid that has the approximate consistency of boiling tar, and gives off a vile odour. The liquid bubbles visibly, and seems to be corrosive to some extent. She can only consume it safely when it is diluted by being mixed with sake. Echo possesses only a very limited quality of this elixir, two small vials, each of which constitutes one dose. Made through an obscure alchemical process, the liquid contains, among other things, Hollow blood, Echo’s own flesh, blood and hair, and a mixture of volatile acids and poisons. When Echo consumes the liquid, the effects take hold gradually over a period of several minutes, a process that causes an intense burning sensation throughout her body, accompanied by much writhing in pain. A massive outpouring of spiritual energy occurs as the process concludes, and Echo experiences changes to her physical appearance, her emotional state and her abilities.

    Echo’s colorless flesh becomes a deeply tanned golden-brown, though this is somewhat muted by the fact that all of her scars are thrown into sharp relief, obscuring a fair portion of her skin. Her grey hair becomes a dark chocolate brown, and her eyes a vivid shade of purple. Along with the outward signs of her flawed state, her internal ‘flaw’, her inability to feel pain, also vanishes. She is able to acutely feel every open wound on her body, as well as being able to feel every new wound that she receives. If anything, she feels these injuries as being a dozen times more painful than they truly are, due in large part to the trauma that this sudden sensory awareness causes to her nervous system. The functionality of all of her basic Arrancar abilities remain completely unchanged, and the skill with which she can utilize them does not change either. Echo’s mood becomes noticeably improved when she consumes this elixir, to the point that she could actually be described as almost cheerful, though whether this is simply a change in her mindset brought about by the realization of her full potential or an actual effect of the elixir is unknown. The strength of Echo’s ambient spiritual energy is greatly increased, as the length of time that she can maintain her ressureccion form. It is fully possible that she could achieve Segunda Etapa while in this state, but she has yet to do so. When the elixir wears off, it does so very abruptly, and her appearance and abilities immediately revert to normal. For several days afterwards, however, she suffers from intense migraine headaches, hallucinations and an even more deeply depressed mindset than is normal for her, and it is not safe for her to consume any more of the elixir during this time. If any completed Arrancar were to consume the elixir, they would experience nothing more than intense pain as the acids in the mixture burnt away at the lining of their esophagus, as it is specially formulated for Echo’s unique condition and state of being.

    Appearance: Etsuko is rather petite, with sharp gray eyes and short black hair. She wears black ninja gear with a long black and silver ribbon tied around her forehead that streams down her back. She is light on her feet and able to move with extreme grace and stealth.

    Personality: Etsuko is extremely outgoing. She tends to be friendly and open, and more often than not a bit goofy. She has a thing about her height, or lack thereof, and is prone to explosions of rage if it is brought up in a negative way(think Edward Elric). This easy going attitude is a bit of a compensation for the fact that under most conditions she is hard to notice, not only because of her small stature but because of her grace and tendency to move in silence and leave very little trace of her having been there. During battle, however, this outgoing attitude vanishes and is replaced by one of cold steel and laser like focus on the task of killing her opponent.

    Background: She was raised in the soul society in one of the poorer districts, relying on her own wits to survive and keep out of trouble. She became adept at moving stealthily, stealing what she needed and often leaving no evidence that she was the one responsible. At some point she encountered a shinigami that was passing through her district on an assignment and attempted to pilfer his zanpaktou. Though she succeeded in lifting it from him, he found out before she had a chance to get away and punished her brutally for the theft. At the same time, however, he recognized the skill it required for her to have stolen from him as well as developing shinigami powers in her and brought her into the soul society for further training. Following her training she was assigned to one of the squads.

    Zanpaktou:

    Name: Nightshade

    Sealed Form: In its sealed form, Etsuko's Nightshade appears as a wakizashi, a katana roughly 20 inches long. When unreleased, her fighting style favors swift, unexpected strikes that get in under her opponent's guard, hitting, dealing her damage, then getting out of their reach before they have time to react. Luckily her small size and agility compliment this style quite nicely, as does her uncanny ability to get around unnoticed.

    Shikai: "Walk the shadows, Nightshade!" When released, Nightshade becomes a short dagger with an ornate, double edged blade.

    Skikai abilities:

    "Assassin's Bite" While released, Nightshade continuously produces a poison along its blade, capable of incapacitating weaker opponents over prolonged fights. The poison becomes harmless once her sword's release ends.

    "Perfect stealth"
    The more powerful of her zanpaktou's abilities, Perfect stealth allows Etsuko to vanish entirely from the senses. To be more accurate, this technique allows her to vanish from reality entirely. She slips into a dimension separate from this one. To her, everything becomes bleached and lackluster, the world loosing all color. While in this dimension, she is completely unable to interact with the real world. This means that she produces no sound. Leaves no trace because her feet are unable to move the dirt on the ground. Even if she were to touch somebody, they would not feel it because her fingers would be unable to apply any force to them. The laws of physics in this alternate world don't behave normally. Equal and opposite reaction no longer applies to her. This means that while she is able to see and hear, she cannot attack her foes in this state, as her knife can't affect her target. Conversely, if she were hit in this state, not only would the force of the impact affect her, but 100% of the force would be transferred into her, as the opposite reaction normal found in nature, IE, her pushing back, does not apply. Her inability to interact with the matter of that space encompasses even the act of breathing in the air. As a result, she must hold her breath while using this technique, which severely limits the duration of its use. What it does allow, however, is for her to get very close to her targets before dropping back out to launch her attacks. It also proves useful when she needs to move stealthily.

    He has a gaunt face with smooth features. His hair is short and straight. He has no facial hair. Ken appears to be a young man. He has a slender muscular figure.

    Personality: Ken is a nihilist and believes in determinism. He believes life is meaningless, that there is no such thing as free will, that morality is purely subjective and that there is no perfect higher power worthy of worship. He feels strongly detached from most people. The suffering of others often doesn't bother him at all. He doesn't care at all about Soul Society or the mortal world. He has only become a shinigami to reach his goal of becoming as powerful as he can possibly be. This goal doesn't have a deep purpose. He has simply chosen it in order to keep himself busy so that he doesn't dwell on the meaninglessness of his life and because he wants the strength to do whatever he desires. One area of power he has decided to focus on is his swordsmanship. He wants to become the greatest swordsman in all of Soul Society. Despite Ken's depressing outlook on life he is still able to mostly think and feel positively like anyone else but he can be subject to bouts of feeling extreme emptiness. Ken has two sides to himself when speaking with people. Sometimes he is polite and formal and other times he is sarcastic and playful depending on the situation and who is he talking to. Sometimes he speaks in a joking manner to hide his shyness when he says something that embarrasses him. As an example, he might try to compliment a female or tell her he likes her in a very comical way because although he wishes to be taken seriously he worries about what that may entail such as a straightforward reply of rejection. Ken likes to joke around and has a very dark sense of humor. Nothing is sacred to him but he does acknowledge when it's inappropriate to say certain things. One other goal Ken has is to find one person he feels he can connect with and befriend him/her to lessen his feelings of emptiness. So far he hasn't met anyone that he truly considers a friend. Everyone up to this point has been what he would call an acquaintance or a temporary friend of necessity. One thing Ken dislikes is to stand out from a crowd. He doesn't feel a need to conform with people but he doesn't want to draw attention to himself. He likes the fact he has a uniform so that he doesn't have to think about what he will wear each day. Even if he didn't have one he might just wear plain black clothes all the time which would basically be the same thing. To further clarify Ken's beliefs about free will, he believes love is nothing more than a chemical attraction or the equivalent to a complex mathematical equation. He doesn't really care about the opposite sex but he definitely is straight. Ken has a thing for shy and reserved girls because he finds more outspoken ones intimidating since he has very little experience talking with them in general. He isn't sexist but he likes to emulate certain ideals of manliness such as never crying and never seeking emotional support. He has no qualms with killing people whether they are "innocent" or "guilty." If he makes any friends and they decide to do evil things he'd have no moral problem suddenly following suit since he doesn't believe in good or evil and does what will please himself. He would however first consider the plausibility of succeeding in a life of crime and the dangers of it as well as what he would have to give up for it. Ken considers himself to be an intellectual but wouldn't want to describe himself in such a way because he thinks he would sound pretentious. Ken has a high tolerance for annoyance and is a patient and understanding person. He believes that everything is subjective including subjectivity. When it comes to fighting Ken is fearless and feels no need to show his enemies any mercy unless he has a specific obligation to. Some might expect Ken to be depraved but he isn’t anymore likely to lie, cheat, steal, manipulate or bully than the average person. In fact he is less likely to do these things than most people because he simply likes to treat people the way he wants to be treated. He is humble and isn’t afraid to make fun of himself. He hopes one day to become a captain and a noble and to attain the titles of Kenpachi and Captain-Commander. He doesn't plan on developing any clever schemes to usurp the people above him. He simply plans to carry out his duties and prove himself in combat well enough to earn these ranks and titles like anyone else. Ken aims as high as he can because the more time and effort his goals require to fulfill the less time he is likely to spend thinking about his world views. If Ken ever succeeds in gaining substantial authority he doesn’t plan to abuse it or even use it much at all. He just wants the power to be able to defend himself in case anyone socially tries to attack or order him around.

    Reiatsu: White and highly transparent. It is very inconspicuous. Rather than blazing like fire it generally forms a skin tight outline around his body. Even when released forcefully it just expands outwards and floats.

    Abilities:
    Zanjutsu: Ken is a very skilled swordsman even for his rank.

    Hoho: Ken has developed well above average reflexes, raw speed and shunpo technique. He feels constant practice of this skill is absolutely essential to avoid being outmaneuvered and having his sword skills rendered useless by someone too swift to touch.

    Kido: Ken’s ability to use kido is abysmal. Whatever he learned of it in the academy he has purposely forgotten because he doesn’t like using it when he could be fighting with his sword.

    Hakuda: Ken is of below average strength in this area for a seated shinigami.

    Reiatsu Manipulation: Ken is skilled at resisting the effects of spiritual energy directed at him and using his own to strengthen himself but he cannot attack people with it. His use of spiritual energy is pretty much entirely internal. Fortunately this also makes his presence harder to detect when he chooses to attempt to hide himself and the aim of his attacks harder to predict.

    Strength and Durability: Ken is naturally stronger and more durable than most seated shinigami since his zanpakuto has no protective properties and he must physically engage his opponents to do anything to them.

    Zanpakuto: Ken/Sword (written with the same kanji as the ken in kendo (boy am I clever))
    Sealed: Ken’s zanpakuto is a totally ordinary traditional katana. Its dimensions are of average size and its circular guard lacks any special design. Its hilt wrapping is black and so is the sheath of the sword which is equally nondescript.

    Shikai: “Cut, Ken.”
    The moment when Ken releases his sword it glimmers just a bit but nothing else happens. The released form of Ken’s zanpakuto is identical to its unsealed form. It greatly increases Ken’s speed and strength by allowing him to better control his spiritual energy. His aura doesn't change because the extra reiatsu released from his body and sword is condensed into each. Ken's zanpakuto also becomes much more durable as a result of the compressed energy.

    Mindscape and Spirit:
    When speaking to his zanpakuto Ken sees the same setting his physical body is currently in. His zanpakuto spirit looks exactly like him and it shares his name. It basically has the same personality as its owner. This doesn’t mean the two get along perfectly. Why is his zanpakuto so boring? Probably because as part of Ken it shares his minimalist tastes.

    Simplistic? Certainly. However, the theme you are going for can be a great addition to the game so long as the character's personality and style become his defining traits rather than a 'unique' power.

    Reiatsu/Cero: White

    Appearance: Eva's mask remnant takes the form of a choker about her neck with two flat spikes running up to her cheeks from the choker. Long black hair is done up in twin short pony tails atop her head, keeping the sable locks out of her intense green eyes. With extremely pale skin, one has to question if Eva has ever goes out in the sunlight under the dome but the porcelain tone suits her features well and gives her an almost dignified air that is at odds with her personality. At a glance, almost no one would guess at her murderous heart or iron-clad determination but underneath the subtly sensual vision that Eva presents is a natural born killer. Her figure could be described as top-heavy by the cruel, but in truth Eva has more of a gentle hourglass shape to her that is partially concealed by her modest uniform...to a point. It is clear that someone tried their hardest to get her to show a little skin.

    A tight fitting zip-up top holds tight to her upper torso, the sleeves having long slits up along the outside edge to expose the pale skin underneath while the zipper for the top seems to be stuck at a point where it shows what Eva considers an indecent amount of cleavage (others would call it modest). The baggy pantaloons that she wears obscures the shape of her hips and legs quite well though once again carefully added slits allow glimpses of her rounded legs. She seems to have almost pointedly coiled up her zanpakuto on the red sash about her waist, as if to remind people that untoward comments might be met by the black whip-tails. Of course, everything aside from the black socks, red sash, and black hems is a snowy white like most every other uniform.

    Personality: Eva doesn't have the personality to match her feminine figure or vibrant name, though if certain hidden clues are to be believed then she hasn't always been like this. However the face she presents to the world now is a driven and serious one that seems to broker no room for personal enjoyment. Aside from that, she has done her best to present a neutral front to avoid offending others even as she picks over every detail within her own head. The only time she seems to drop this facade is when the Primera is mentioned (which brings about a twitch in her eye) or when someone derides a natural arrancar (which has brought about a challenge if Eva is in a bad enough mood).

    Zanpakuto: Radiante Vacío (Radiant Emptiness);a four pronged whip that has a small razor-sharp blade at the tip of each tail.

    When Eva enters her Resurreccion, she glows white for a brief shining moment and when the glow has faded has changed quite remarkably in some ways. For one, her mask fragment shifts up to the top of her head, the two curved protrusions that normally lay on her cheeks sticking straight up in the air like some sort of bizarre horned crown. The jacket top and pantaloons disappear as well to be replaced by a opalescent catsuit that holds to her like a second skin in some places. An elongated tear-drop shape is removed from the back of the outfit while the rest of her remains covered. Her twin pony-tails also combine into one long one that reaches down to her ankles.

    Radiante Vacio itself seems to become attached to her arm, the bladed whip-tails sprouting from the back of her forearm and fully mobile on their own (or rather, by her will) and can extend up to thirty feet away. However the zanpakuto isn't the most dangerous part of Eva's transformations and many would argue it doesn't even deserve mention beside the true source of her power. In battle, Eva can become immune to a specific attack or ability of an opponent, but only so long as the attack or ability is compromised or augmented by it's owner's reiryoku. However, while the psychological effect of having one's attack becoming completely useless can be severe, it's not as debilitating as it first seems.

    Eva's nullification ability is almost ridiculously specific and only lasts while she is in her Resurreccion. Should she leave that state and enter it again, her opponent would find that her former immunities no longer exist. More importantly, it only works against a specific attack by a specific individual. For example, if an arrancar were to use a cero after Eva had readied herself to adapt to the next reiryoku attack to affect her, then Eva would not be affected by that arrancar's cero until she returned to her normal form, but any other arrancar's cero would work perfectly fine against her. Against shinigami it becomes even worse as a specific kido spell can take up one of the uses of this ability and only work against that particular kido spell by that particular shinigami unless she expends another, very limited, use of her nullification to become immune to that spell from someone else. Even against zanpakuto with differing methods of attack or 'techniques' her nullification only works against as many 'techniques' as she is prepared to use nullification on.

    In other words, while this ability can be devastatingly effective in single combat (especially against arrancar who most often have limited methods of attack) at forcing opponents to fight her in her specialty, it often fails in the face of multiple opponents since the number of times she can become immune to an attack per Resurreccion is limited to under half a baker's dozen. ((Yes, I know the specific number but it's meant to be a surprise)) Considering there is a tell-tale, if someone knows what to look for, sign that Eva has readied herself to become immune to a form of attack, it becomes slightly less useful once more. Still, the ability is powerful enough that old friends once called her a 'hollow-killer' before they 'passed on'. It is also because of her nullification abilities that she is unable to fire ceros and her balas lack a significant punch.


    General Abilities: With the unknown, at large, capabilities of Eva's Resurreccion, many people have to judge the arrancar's worth by the other talents she displays. Unfortunately they vary from stupendous to dismal. While her hierro, sonido, and raw strength are all very impressive (in that order), her capabilities with other natural arrancar abilities such as cero and bala are stunted to the point no one has ever seen her actually use a cero, only bala. In other, simpler, terms all of Eva's abilities seemed to be focused on the perfection of the physical rather then the spiritual.

    Intelligence: While it's mostly Eva's own opinion that people have to go off of, she claims that she is very smart in certain aspects and has proven to be a suitably skilled manipulator and deceiver when she has exerted herself towards that goal.

    Appearance and personality: Her appearance is that of a slender, almost emaciatedly so, young woman with arms and legs that are too long, hanging and gangly. Straight black hair obscures her left eye. Her features are drawn and gaunt and locked in a perpetual downcast look of indifference and hopelessness. Her eyes themselves are a pale white with no life to them at all. Her armor is a lackluster gray, not serving to cover her protectively at all.

    Personality-wise she is dour and unenthusiastic about just about everything, though she is inspired to fight because it serves as the sole source of amusement for her otherwise drab lifestyle. She has a tendency to deflate any mood just by being there and her downcast, drolling monotone voice has a habit of getting on people's nerves almost before she starts speaking. It's hard to understand how she came to the appointment of Septima Espada at all.

    Sealed Zanpaktou: Earnshaw. Her sealed Zanpaktou is a uncharacteristically ornate sword, slightly longer than most, but narrower and curved slightly. It also appears to be made of a metal with a slight purple tarnish and has a perpetual polished gleam to it.

    Resurrección: "Ah, What's the Point? Wallow With Me in Despair." When she releases Earnshaw, Isabella herself remains mostly the same, save her armor thickens and thin black tendril sprout in pairs along her spine. Though she has almost no attack abilities in this form, should one of those tendrils come in contact with her foe, they detach and cling to them, swiftly growing to completely engulf them in a dense web. The target, however, is unaware of this, as they enter a trance like state in which their senses are completely taken over by the tendril. In this state, they are put into a hallucinated world in which the most devastating things they fear happen to them, during which time the tendrils begin sucking the life out of them. The more despairing the captured person becomes as a result of this, the strong the tendril's grip becomes and the faster their life is drained. The tendrils themselves can be cut away by somebody else, and if the captured person is able to resist the hallucination and not become lost to despair, the tendrils will eventually wither and die, releasing them.

    Daito is, in one word, casual. His clothing, while not normal issue per se, is still pretty loose and casual. He dislikes standard Shinigami robes, saying they restrict him too much. Instead, he wears fairly loose black pants, a sleeveless shirt with a small turtleneck (most of the shirt is black, but the bit around the neck and the border around the arms are red), and a pair of black tanker boots. His medium brown hair is kept in a long ponytail. He's often found with a confident smile (what some might call a smirk) on his face. (Looks like this guy, but aged about 5 years, and in the outfit described).

    Daito is ultimately a product of the new 11th Division. While he enjoys fighting a lot, he also realizes there is a purpose in that fighting. Namely, to protect those who can't fight, or don't yet have the same level of power that he does. He also realizes some may never have that ability. He doesn't look down on them; many possess skills and talents he never will. Especially in the arts. Instead, they're merely sheep that need a sheepdog. To protect them from the wolves. Getting a good fight out of it is just a healthy bonus.
    Daito does enjoy other things. An evening at a bar, having a good time with friends, is one of his "simple pleasures" in life. The occasional harmless prank or joke at another's expense livens things up, though he's conscious of some people not appreciating such things as much, and leaves them be. Unless they're someone like Dannan, the (former?) 3rd seat of his Division. Then all bets are off.
    Those like Dannan are some of his least favorite people. Prejudiced, cruel, and with no sense of honor; individually, these qualities rouse his ire. Combining them only makes it worse. Thus, the actions of former Vice-Captain Nukari made Daito extraordinarily mad. It was only an honest assessment of his own skills and powers that kept him from charging after the man alongside Shirubaru.
    While he greatly enjoyed working with Captain Shirubaru, Daito's found that the Division does run a bit smoother under Cecilia's guidance. He enjoys working with her, and finds the "subtle" looks she and Shirubaru have given each other sometimes to be hilarious. He's left that subject alone, though. All things in time.


    General Abilities:

    Kido: Non-existant. He's a typical 11th Division member. No talent or desire to pursue it.
    Hakuda: Basic skills. Mostly Academy form, with a smattering of tricks learned over the years. His style does tend heavily towards kicks.
    Hoho: His shunpo is average. While his physical stamina allows him to use a fairly large number of flash steps, each step is on the lower end of average so far as distance and speed. He mostly uses them for quick evasion.
    However, his non-shunpo footwork is excellent. Daito is capable of maintaining his footing on difficult terrain with no real effort exerted. His non-shunpo combat evasion is also excellent. He often uses his surprising flexibility to move out of the way of attacks while staying within his preferred range to the target.
    Zanjutsu: Daito's area to really shine. He displays superb skill with the blade, with his technique overall focusing on medium power but high precision. He's also capable of smoothly transitioning between the styles necessary for his sword's sealed form, and its various forms in shikai. He is ambidextrous overall, but favors using his right hand slightly, by default.


    Zanpakuto: Setsudankou (roughly speaking, it means "Cutting Steel")

    What appears to be the depths of space. However, one can breathe easily there, without feeling particularly cold or hot. Daito always appears somewhere between the orbit of the earth and the moon, though the scale appears...off. As well, he is able to walk around as if there were a solid floor. The stars are very bright in the sky, while the sun is slightly dimmer than real life would dictate.

    Setsudankou appears as a slightly younger version of Daito himself. He is wearing a billowing pure black robe, reminiscent of the classic "Grim Reaper". His eyes are pure black. His voice is not Daito's; the closest description is that it sounds like the ring of steel blades in a fight. His personality generally matches his wielder, and they sometimes trade jokes when Daito wanders into his inner world. The hood on Setsudankou's robe is normally kept down; if he's delivering what he feels to be an important message, he may pull it up, obscuring his whole face.

    Standard size and shape katana. Guard is solid yellow oval. Hilt is white and black; there is a base layer of white, wrapped over almost entirely by black, with only hints of white showing through. The end of the hilt is capped in red. The sheath is primarily black, with a single white line running down the center of either side. The closed end of the sheath is also capped in red.

    Setsudankou shifts from a katana to a simple jian (This, but with the guard smooth and the hilt smoother, a bit shorter, without the increased thickness at the end, and with a smooth pommel. Coloration scheme matches sealed form), before splitting into two identical swords. His sheath changes shape to hold one of these two swords, keeping the same coloring scheme; however, he does not gain a second sheath.

    Setsudankou is roughly twice as sharp as before, allowing it to more easily cut through an enemies defenses.

    Setsudankou can, at will, join the two swords into a single two-bladed sword, with the pommels disappearing, and the hilt merging into a single handle a couple inches longer than either single hilt.

    Daito has a single "special attack" with his shikai. He begins to twirl Setsudankou in its two-bladed sword form in one hand. After a moment, the spin increases without his hand providing momentum. Instead, he holds his hand out flat, at a right angle to his arm, palm facing the sword, as it increases speed. Soon, the sword resembles a fast-spinning sawblade. Daito can then throw the blade at an enemy. He has no control once it takes flight; he can only give it initial direction. His maximum range with this attack is about 50 feet. Once the sword either reaches that distance, hits a target, or Daito wills it, it disappears and returns to his hand, having stopped spinning.

    Background: Meshugah dates back to the creation of the Earth itself. Somehow, likely related to the twisted nature of Arcadian time, he remains much younger than Old Man Oath.

    Appearance: A stone statue, sculpted into a muscular man with a classically beautiful face. He is sculpted with only a loincloth, and lines indicating the body paint of a Celtic warrior.

    Personality: The personality that Meshugah feigns is one of enduring persistence toward achieving his ends, typically related to acquiring power. However, at certain points, he can be shockingly capricious, showing just how much of a mask his apparent personality is. Humans within his realm are put to work mining it for iron, and transforming it into rust, for he can feel the land, and it pains him. Or, he just finds it entertaining to see them laboring to create something worthless.

    Contracts
    -Supreme Contract of Stone: This contract grants Meshugah unmatchable strength, at the cost of never leaving the ground. He also has the power to manipulate the surface of the Earth as he sees fit. This does not permit him to force any point of the earth five hundred feet beyond its resting point.

    -Adequate Contract of Celerity: Meshugah is able to move fast enough to fight competently against nearly anything.

    -Average Contract of Wood:
    By the connection plants share with the ground, Meshugah can manipulate them as he sees fit, unless one with greater right countermands him.

    -Major Contract of Persistence: As the embodiment of stone, Meshugah can grant anything, from an idea to an object to himself, unnatural resilience. Anything affected by this power will last forever, unless acted upon by a great deal of power. Even then, it maintains obstinate endurance, taking far more force than normal to destroy.

    Appearance: Somewhat tall, Kenta has spiky red hair with a streak ofr yellow in it. His features, though not necessarily chiseled are rather handsome and manly and he has a perpetual scruffy unshaven look. His eyes are a striking green. He wears a vest that is never zipped and no shirt underneath, showing off his well toned but not overly muscular body. On the back of the vest is the kanji for "Bold." His pants are slightly baggy and torn around the ankles.

    Personality: Kenta is incredibly outgoing and somewhat goofy at times. He loves a good fight and it is about the only thing he has been known to take seriously. Not arrogant, but certainly overflowing with self confidence, he has an eternally positive outlook on life, even when the situation looks grim and unsurvivable. The term "indomitable spirit" comes to mind.

    Background: Kenta was raised within the soul society and inducted into the shinigami academy at an early age. His competitive spirit drove him to graduate at a very young age and he joined the 5th squad and rapidly moved up in rank, finally attaining the Vice Captain seat. Since then he has only gotten stronger.

    Zanpaktou:

    Name: Hoakari

    Sealed Form: In its sealed form, his zanpaktou is a pair of knuckles he wears almost all the time.

    Shikai: "Smash through all obstacles in our way, HOAKARI!!!" When released, Hoakari takes on the form of a pair of thick iron gauntlets, with spiked knuckles, that cover almost up to his elbows.

    Skikai abilities:

    "KEEEENTAAAAAA PUUUUUUUUUNCH!!!": Kenta launches himself at his target and throws his entire body into a single punch. Midway through the punch steam begins shooting from within his gauntlet, providing extra power to the blow and helping carry him, sometimes great distances, through the air to meet his target.

    "ROCKEEEEEEEEET FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISTS!!!!" The gauntlets fire from his hands, flying with great speed and force at his target, propelled by massive plooms of fire that trails tails of white smoke. The fists doggedly track their target to deliver devastating punches before returning to Kenta. They can, however, be prevented from returning to him, by, say, grabbing and holding onto them.

    A former Kinsman of the Enclave, Andrzej was promoted in the aftermath of the order's devastation due to expertise in reconnaissance and and his unique fighting style that blends swordplay and glyph usage into a single, fluid combat form. He has begun teaching select members of the Hunters and Kinsmen both of these skills in an effort to create a guerilla force for the Enclave to use if necessary.

    Appearance: Andrzej is almost albino, his skin exceptionally pale and his shoulder-length hair prematurely white. His irises are golden, and his pupils slitted, which most attribute to the experiments of Andrjev's late mentor Vesemir, and a scar runs over his left eye. He is usually unshaven, though rarely with a full-blown beard and almost never wear anything other than his simple cloth and leather armour. Quite notable is that he carries two bastard swords on his back - one steel, and one silver.

    Glyphs: Andrzej carries two swords, as his tutor taught him that not all monsters were not kin to men. His steel sword is designed for combating humans and animals, whilst the silver sword is focused on combating spiritual entities.

    Reconcilio: Andrzej only bears this Glyph on his silver sword.

    Fighting Style Glyphs: Andrjev's fighting 'style' actually consists of three differing techniques, and both his swords carry three Glyphs, one for each style. However, Andrzej can only empower one of these Glyphs at a time, as they require a particular focus and frame of mind to utilise.
    • Temerian Devil Glyph: Designed for dealing with tough, slow opponents, the Temerian Devil style focuses on slow, heavy blows that make frequent use of two-handing to add extra force to the blow. The Glyph for this style enhances the sword's cutting strength, allowing it to bypass armour, shields and the hides of unnatural beasts more easily.
    • Addan Anye, the Fiery Dancer: This style favours speed and agility over strength of blows. The Fiery Dancer affords the opponent no time to strike safely. The philosophy behind the style is that a swordsman should be as a flame - too swift and ephemeral to harm, and wounding every time it is touched. The Addan Anye Glyph enhances Andrzej's speed whilst empowered.
    • Naev'de Feaine Glaeddyv, the Nine Sun Swords: Designed for dealing with multiple opponents at once, the Nine Sun Swords consists of wide, circular motions that force opponents to keep back or take the blow. The Naev'de Feaine Glaeddyv Glyph lengthens the blade of the sword when empowered, increasing both its reach and its weight, and thus its momentum.

    Due to the reduced durability of his silver sword, Andrzej has adapted these styles for its use. When using the silver sword, no parries or ripostes are utilised, replaced by an increased emphasis on steps, pirouettes and evasion.

    Aard: Inscribed on the palm of the gauntlet of his off-hand, the Aard Glyph allows Andrzej to deliver a quick telekinetic shove. Used quickly, its strength is rather minor, but by spending time and focusing energy into the Glyph, the shove can be made more significant, capable of knocking opponents off their feet.

    Vice captain of the 8th division

    Personality: He is a gentle soul compared to anyone else in the soul society.He also has a soft spot for anything that he considers to be cute. Though he does like the ladies quite a bit. His gentle ideals are mirrored in his zanpaktou, who's powers are nonlethal until Bankai is released. His favorite food is fried chicken and he doesn't like sushi. He plays a lot of games that involve reading, he sometimes on his breaks, goes to the mortal world to play video games.

    Skills: He is quite good with Bakudo spells, able to use spells from the lower quarter, (Meaning if they divided the spells into 4 groups, he could use the weakest quarter)

    Quirks: He is rather infamous for being bribed with cute animals if the matter isn't important, sort of like a kid with candy. He also manages to forget exactly how he is related to the first captain, causing him to look unintelligent. Though the captain seems to know.

    Appearance: He's quite good looking, he would need to be to fit into his role as "Ladies' Man of The Soul Reapers".


    Reitsu: White


    Zanpaktou: Banshee Queen

    The zanpaktou is a wakizashi when unreleased. The hand guard is a circle with a spider web relief carved into it. The wrapping is a dark green, and the blade has one stripe of black on the dull side.

    Shikai: Shout in their ears


    His zanpaktou retains it's shape and then extremely powerful sound waves begin to fly into the opponet's ears where they then violently shake the chemicals in the opponent's head, making it difficult to stand, let alone move. However, a strong opponent
    can counter most of the technique by releasing enough reishi. However a weak enough opponent will be left throwing up on the ground, kind of like if you go on the biggest roller coaster ever.

    Bankai: Merciless Banshee Queen

    Now Katsu's sword becomes a pair of black gloves, that can stop sword strikes and when he points at his enemy a transparent gray wave of energy, screaming as it flies along, will cause damage if they are touched. The Shikai effect takes place and becomes stronger as the
    gray energy get's closer but only when Katsu releases the energy.

    Acaxochitl is rather short and rather thin. Her hair is purple matching the pair of boots she has on (don't ask where she got them.) For her uniform she has customized it with a some what of a short skirt, and a personal poach (for storing medical aids such as stitches and a few needles of Novocain plus a surgical knife and more.)

    Bala Acaxochitl spews these from her mouth at a high rate of fire (much weaker then an average bala.)
    Sonído The one Arrancar ability Acaxochitl has mastered as she move swiftly into one direction not having to stop until she needs to change directions or stop.

    Acaxochitl is surprising quite quiet and self reserve and a bit skittish however, she will go out of her way at great speed if Arrancar is damaged so she may mend who ever requires it. How ever she is not without faults she tends to be naive and ignorant of allot of things but this mostly due to the fact she became an Arrancar rather recent.

    Acaxochitl was never close combat orientated even as a hollow. As a hollow her primary method of defense was fleeing and attracting male hollows to her location with a strange sticky liquid she could spew up. As an Arrancar her abilities were much more suited at defending and support one being an ability to heal others. In life as a human she was a nurse during the American Vietnam war where she met quite an unfortunate death.

    Mending: Acaxochitl spews out a stingy ooze which allows cells to regenerate at an accelerated rate to heal scars and open wounds also acting as a glue for attaching limbs back together (allowing nerves to reconnect and such.

    "Smells like honey": Acaxochitl spews out a liquid that attracts hollows (To Arrancar it smells like honey.)

    Burrow: Acaxochitl quickly makes a large hole in the ground with her bare hands. (This is a comic relief thing and really isn't supposed to be taken seriously)
