Apart from the uniforms and the command structure (look at Wikipedia's common navy ranks), not really. You can do pretty much you want.

In the DnD sanity rules (optional rule) you take Sanity damage whenever something challenges your perceptions of the physical world, wether it be encountering a really strange creature or being the target of a wierd spell.

And MM saying 'do whatever you want' challenges how I see the world.

It's even wierder than Cthulhu Caramelldansen.

It's called Planum Commedia (the Planar Comedy). Yes, I know it translate as Plain Comedy, but the other option sounds really bad.

It's not supposed to be an insult, it's supposed to be a rebuttal to Rand's reasoning. I do not have a negative opinion of yourself, on the contrary. It's just that you already have the skeleton of your plot planned, while I have only the setting. Since Rand thinks I'm a control freak then logically, he must think you are a dictator.
