Poleaxe?
I don't have all of the books, so I wouldn't know if they did poleaxe already. We have heavy poleaxe but no regular poleaxe. So if they did it, where is it? If not, why not? Halberd could be the poleaxe, but it got spikey thingy on it that make it slashing or piercing :P.
I don't see why can't you just use a regular spear and stick an axehead on it instead of a spearhead.
Spear 2 gp 1d8 x3 20 ft. 6 lb. Piercing
Become
Poleaxe 10 gp 1d10 x3 8 lb. Slashing
Cost and pound reflect an increase in metal used (axehead). ???

Re: Poleaxe?
Pole Axe looks suspiciously like a cheap Dwarven War Axe to me (Remember Dwarven War Axe is a Two Handed Martial Weapon before taking an Exotic Weapon Proficiency), which it is otherwise identical to statistically, I think.
You could pretty much do this with any type, e.g. Mace, Pick, Axe etc... Basically in D&D you have the 'Light' version, the 'Normal' version and the 'Great' version'. In between Normal and Great there is room for 'Bastard' versions. It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Re: Poleaxe?
Have you seen the Dwarven Warpike from Races of Stone ?
Basically a Halberd with reach and increased damage (imho 1d10 is enough), the ultimate swiss-army polearm.
It's exotic. The Countess of Mispelling hath returned !__________________________________________________ _________Behold my magnetoresistance !
