    Default Metamagic Feat: Spell Flexibility

This metamagic feat is for casters that need to select their spells ahead of time, but want a little more sorcerer-like flexibility at the expense of power:

    Spell Flexibility

When preparing spells, pick two spells you can cast of the same level and school. You prepare a spell that can be cast as either of those two spells, allowing you to choose which way to use it when you cast it. The prepared spell takes a spell slot one level higher than the level of the two spells.

Flexible Spells can also be combined with each other, for example you could prepare a level 6 spell that could be cast as four different level 4 spells, or a level 4 spell that can allows you to choose from two level 2 and four level 1 spells, as long as all the spells are of the same school.

I like the general idea, but I don't know if the stacking effect is worthwhile; very rarely is a single 5th level spell slot worth a 3rd level spell, even if you can choose to cast one of 4 prepared spells with that slot. Still, it's a nice option.

Sounds a lot like Mnemonic Enhancer.

That's what I thought of too; I've thought of adding a higher-level version of that to my games before (enhanced mnemonic enhancer?), and that's basically what this does--though it doesn't give you the extra slots option, which is fine by me.

This is a little better. Mnemonic Enhancer would let you prepare three level 1 spells with a 4th level spell slot. With this a 4th level spell slot could give you two level 3 spells. Also there's no spell limit, so you could prepare four level 7 spells with a level 9 slot.
