Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
By the way. You might want to replace all of the instances of 'ect' with 'etc' (for 'etcetera'), since 'ect' doesn't actually mean anything at all.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
If I remember correctly, they can be found at the end of the 'Horror Campaign' thread.
I just found the following short tale by SCS about her 'favourite kill'
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=18
@ 13_CBS
I don't know if it fits in, but what about a small "random awesome stuff SCS wrote" section?

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
I already did one (the backstabbing friends one, which was mentioned in her writings about the Horror campaign), so I'll be doing it the way I did it for that story: at the end of posts as a vignette.
Hopefully, I'll have enough space for those + the regular campaign stories.
@ Lycanthro: Huh, I missed that one. Thanks for the catch!

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
You're missing some of the smaller things: Her revenge following the "fire resistance" betrayal, when her character got left behind in the collapsing dimencion of the reduced kobold lich, the war on hell, killing the vampire-dragon big bad halfway through the campaign. Some of those things just aren't likely to fit into the larger stories.
Perhaps the vampire dragon story could go around where they got the zombie dragon in the currently ongoing campaign...Last edited by Hyozo; 2009-07-01 at 09:49 AM.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
Glad to see this got posted...and so well. To tell the truth, I was somewhat avoiding the horror campaign (for 2 reasons: 1, I could not find it, and 2, I really REALLY dislike the horror genre for reasons I'd rather not get into) but having it here...it's not so bad, really (from the horror standpoint) and I really enjoyed reading through it.
Point though, I'd like to see her/her DM's homebrewed stuff that relates to these stories. Sections describing the vestiges, creature entries for the crystal scarabs, the special cool nonstandard items, etc.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
Yeah, that "vignette" should probably appended seperately from the main storylines, not thrown inbetween them.
Also, 13_CBS: you're going to need more reserved posts than that. =p Maybe the first 40 or so, just to be on the safe side (and fill up an entire page).
Were those posted in the Horror thread or do you have a link to where I might find them? The key to wisdom is to have strong opinions, weakly held.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
Good point, though I think it's too late to put them with the Horror Campaign posts. I'll go look some extra stories up.
I threw in the vignette very soon after its mention so that the reference in the Horror Campaign would be fresh in the readers' minds when they read it. I also didn't want to use up one of the reserve posts since I wanted to conserve as much space as possible.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
The war on Hell was mentioned durring the ongoing journal.
Iruka already posted a link to killing the big bad vampire dragon early.
This was her revenge for thr "burn the witch" incident
Here is where the partyleft her behind.
Also, I keep finding mentions of an all bard "lich-bard of the opera" campaign, but none of them actually tell what happened in that one.Avatar by Vulion. Vectored by me.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
This has my approval, which 13_CBS asked for and I granted given that SilverClawShift approved, but it won't be stickied. We're actually trying to reduce the number of stickies overall.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
There was another excerpt from that assault on hell that I found entertaining. It was basically a list of: "He didn't just seriously..."s over and over again. Quite entertaining really.

You know, SCS, you and your gaming group have been somewhat inspirational to me. I must say, having your stuff compiled into a little easy-to-access compendium is pretty awesome.

Thanks for the links Hyozo.
Edit: Ah damn, the revenge story was awesome.
That was the next post by SilverClawShift in that same thread. (It helps if you strike a pose with every capitalised sentence. *flex*)Last edited by Lilienthal; 2009-07-02 at 04:15 AM.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
I couldn't agree more. I happened to come across that looking for the reduced kobold lich story people were mentioning in the horror campaign, and it changed my opinion of the horror campaign from "This is the best campaign ever." to "This is a great campaign by the best group ever."

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
Just out of curiosity, why are you staying an update behind SCS? Oh, and I think that's supposed to be "Draconian Dungeon Masters" in your first post, rather than "Draconic". Well, at least I hope so.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
I wouldn't be too worried with not reserving enough posts at the start. For something as big and awesome as this, it would never be enough.
A better solution would be to add more posts as you need, and at the end of the previous post a jump link to the next post in the story. (That is, at the bottom of the post you put in the URL in hyperlink tags for the exact post number of the continuation.)
No more worries about running out of posts or shifting through the countless pages of praise that is likely to follow.
And this really has inspired me to be drawn into the games again. Lately, I had just been not caring anymore, but reading how cool your DM is and an actual group like that has given me hope and spirit again.

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
An even better solution would be to have two seperate threads, both by SilverClawShift. One with all the story posts but without any other discussion whatsoever, and one with the story posts and the discussion they spark off. But I don't know if the moderators would like that much.
Unless this thread somehow ends up as a meta-game spin-off of SilverClawShift's campaign universe(s) there's not much use for it other than as an archive anyway.
Update: Oh yeah, it didn't occur to me before, but you might want to flesh out your first post some more 13_CBS. It could use a short description of the basic plot or theme of the storylines that are up so far, as well as links to their original threads and to where they start in the archives. Idem for the short stories.Last edited by Lilienthal; 2009-07-06 at 09:15 AM. Reason: Update

Re: The SilverClawShift Campaign Archives
I just read the first campaign, and it blew me away.
I mean, yeah, the plot was fascinating and the writing was top notch, but it also surprised me as how deep the players were getting into it. If my players got that interested in a game, I'd be overjoyed. (Not that they don't enjoy it, but even my best games are interrupted every few minutes by someone telling a joke or changing the subject or something.)
But yeah. This was brilliant, and I'm looking forward to reading the second one in a little bit. For now, I'm off to watch the latest RvB...
