[BleachitP] Episode 16: Natsuko and Metta; a date!

On the matter of your powers, I'm not sure how to train you in increasing those. Your energies are the most similar to Shinigami, so you'd probably have to learn from your powers themselves.

[MageSparrowhawk]

"Hmm...good point. I was thinking though...the things I can do are based off of reishi manipulation. Your skills are definitely related...could you give me some pointers? Maybe if I watched you using your abilitiesit might help...? Er...watch with whatever sense you want to call the one that lets me know there's reishi around us..."

Okay.

She starts to gather in reishi.

Metta watches intently for a moment, then realizes that it isn't doing much good. He closes his eyes, and reaches out with that new, inexplicable sense he's gained. "Woah...this is really weird...I can almost feel what you're doing." He opened his eyes. "Oh, that was cool!" He glances over, and notices that at some point during that he had placed his hand on Natsuko's shoulder. He quickly retracts the hand.

Okay, and now I'm going to expel it.

She forms her Quincy bow, and shoots off a few arrows.

Metta watches closely, examining the process with both his eyes and his new senses. "That was...wow. I wonder...." Metta holds up his arm, and attempts to mime the same action. A deep red glow appears in his left hand, shaping into a bow-shape. It lasts for approximately 3 seconds, then fades. "Well that was interesting, if not effective." He smiles, then shrugs.

Motioning to a nearby bench, Metta slows. "Shall we sit?"

Natsuko sits down. Okay.

"Feeling a little passive tonight Nat?" The pair sidt down on the bench. It was late spring, and the sun was starting st set, so it was getting a little bit chillier. "How have you been doing lately? I only see you at school, and not very much at that...well, besides the recent events."

[horngeek]

Dad's death was pretty hard on me. The fact that I know he's gone on...

it still hurts, you know? Waking up and thinking I'm going to see him today, but then remembering that I won't. But then again, I know I will see him again. People who had spiritual powers before their death do tend to keep all their memories.

[MageSparrowhawk]

"I actually didn't know that about memories...interesting little tidbit. Maybe it'll come in useful...eventually..." Metta sighs and glances away for a moment. The words 'Chekov's Gun' might be heard, though it might also be the wind.

He frowns. "I can't really say I can understand what you mean about the pain. I do sympathize though..." He waves his hand, seeming to make the unpleasant thoughts go away. "But you're right. You'll see him again." Metta smiles, taking her hand in his.

"Your hand's cold...are you alright?" He looks down at his jacket. "This is getting a little warm for me...do you want it?"

Okay. It is a little cold.

She takes the jacket and puts it around herself.

How have you been?

Metta smiles, then looks off. "I guess...I'm not really sure how to answer that..." He frowns as his shoulders slump. I mean..to some extent, this thing that has happened to me is amazing. The power to will anything I can imagine into existence?! That's amazing. But...at the same time, I know it's going to cause me pain and unpleasantness of all sorts. For that matter, my life as it has been is basically over." He squints and rubs his forehead. "I just don't know what to think...well, besides that I'm going to have to learn how to use my abilities...if anything, to prevent other hollows from eating me." He shrugs and gives a halfhearted smile to Natsuko.

She grins at him. The best advice I can give you is to take the hits and come out smiling as best as you can.

[MageSparrowhawk]

"But...ap...er...um..." Metta opens and closes his mouth a few more times. He frowns and looks very confused. After a few moments of just staring at Natsuko, he looks down and sighs.

He continues looking down for a bit, then shakes his head slowly. looking back up at Natsuko, he smiles. "Yeah. you're right." He softly squeezes her hand.

She squeezes it back, and is silent.

Metta leans back on the bench and looks up at the sky. It's starting to get truly dark now, and the occasional star pokes out past the city lights. Metta narrows his eyes. Slowly, all the city lights begin to dim, as if they were being obscured. The stars slowly came into view, illuminating the sky, with just a mere sliver of a moon showing. Metta seems to relax, and smiles, looking up.

As Natsuko sits there, she realises. Nearly time for the movie.

Metta jerks out of his revere. The city lights seem to snap back to their original brightness. "Wow, that time already?" He checks his watch, confirming the time. Coincidentally, it's on his right arm. "Huh. So it is." He stands up and holds out his arm for Natsuko. "Shall we then?"

She takes it. Yes, we shall.

Metta smiles, and the pair head off toward the movie theater.

They arrive with a few minutes to spare, and find their seats quickly. "The previews are going to start soon...do you want anything before then? Popcorn? Drinks?

Some popcorn and a Pepsi, please, Metta.

She smiles.

[MageSparrowhawk]

"Indeed." He nods to her, then heads out.

Returning a few minutes later, he has a big bucket of popcorn as well as two drinks. He places the popcorn on Natsuko's lap, and the beverages in the chair cup-holders. He quickly sits, as the screen switches from generic adds and stars showing movie trailers. "Here's hoping the reviews I saw were accurate..."

((I had a thought...how about after the movie, a lower-strength hollow jumps the two of them? Make a good end for the date, eh?))

Natsuko starts sipping on her Pepsi and munching popcorn as the movie starts.

((nod. And I suppose a timeskip would be appropriate...do you know anything about the reference I was making with the movie? It might help if we both gave 'reaction posts' and then moved on. Also...chips? I thought they were eating popcorn...))

Natsuko grins after the movie finishes. That was a pretty good movie!

"I enjoyed it as well...and it actually gave me some ideas...I mean, besides the giant robot..thingies." He grins and then stands up to stretch. The rest of the attendees slowly file out, as Metta watches the credits. "I always like to see how much work went into making a movie like this...I mean- He points up at the screen-look at how many CG workers there are. There's more than there were actors, including all the extras." He shrugs. "It's just impressive to me."

"Shall we return home then?"
