Nothing else disturbs you the rest of the night, and you rise at daybreak to greet the rosy glow of dawn as the newly risen sun climbs the heavens, painting the sky with pastel colours.
You make a meagre breakfast beneath the cold sky, of dried meat, fruit, and nuts, before packing up your bedrolls and continuing the hunt. Filled with new energy you bound tirelessly through the woodlands, pursuing your prey with single-minded ferocity.
    Everyone make another Constitution check.

OOC: I don't think I am going to use the horse I went through the expense of buying, so mind if I sell it back, along with associated items?

Taki packed up, and began running through his Kata's, clearing his mind for the day ahead. They'd catch the man today, and then they would do some good.

    Then what?

Radel waited impatiently for the others to pack up his tents... The man may well have others working for him, or could even have already found the thing. If not for that thought, he'd be tempted to run on ahead, to save time...

    Constitution check : (d20+7)[20]

This impatience foremost in his mind, as soon as the camp was packed up, Radel set off at a run. He kept the others in sight, naturally, but circumstances forbade him from going easy on them. Time was of the essence...

"Chasa." Turning her attention to Keothi, "If the night surrounds me, I bask in it. If it is the day, I bask in it." Lastly, her attention goes up to Alowne, who seems to have taken to a cat nap... badger nap... whatever.

Chasa takes a few steps forward and nudges the spear in the ranger's direction.

"You're following someone, yes? Northward. Alowne noticed that one set of tracks was older. I can help you. He'll rest there. I'll be back in the morning."

As promised, Chasa returned from the wilderness in the morning. She seemed refreshed. "Are we going, now? I think my badger would be happy to help you on your quest."

Alowne seemed completely at peace with the party. Chasa didn't seem too tied up about it one way or the other, and grabbed her spear from the ground where she'd left it. She secretly hoped nobody would be too tied-up about her wandering around alone in the wilderness without any weapons.

Sure, you can sell back the horse at full price

Swiftly, you hurdle through the forest.
The hours pass; by the time the sun is nearly at the top of the sky Radel is far ahead of the rest of you.
Running, he catches sight of a silhouette ahead, strolling through the trees; approaching, he can make out the shape of the Dark Man!

You don't need a track check, your ranger's already hot on the trail. All you need to do is make con checks to see if you can catch up with him.

Radel slowed suddenly, not wanting to give his position away. There he was...*

He kept up enough of a pace to keep the man in sight, but while trying to slow enough to let the others catch up. With a deft hand gesture, he signalled for Fionn to warn the others.*

They wouldn't understand her directly, of course, but he hoped they'd understand that it was a signal of some sort, and hopefully they could infer the rest.*

He kept a close eye on the man, trying to discern his attitude... He seemed almost casual. Confident, Radel decided, but not yet victorious.*

Catching up to Radel, her breath still relatively calm, Chasa cast Cat's Grace over the Ranger, after a subtle growl from Alowne informed her that their prey was near.

Chasa chose to lay low in the brambles. She didn't know what to expect... no sense in drawing herself out. She was just helping them find this guy... she was hit with a sudden realization that she'd done more than help them find this person.

"Hey..." she whispered. "Are you the good guys, or the not-so-good guys?"

Hrm, tricky one. I'm so far ahead there's no way I'd get reinforcements if I were to attack, so I really would be on my own. And I've just noticed that in my utter system rustiness, I didn't spend a penny on any kind of healing potion. I do have some gold left over... If I can retro-buy them on the grounds that Radel is less of an idiot than me, that would be awesome. If not, I'll keep stalking him, stay hidden, and wait for the others...

I guess if you can make the Spot check to find him there's no reason why not - just bear in mind that given the tension of the moment, his reaction is liable to involve the Quick Draw feat. Also, you may never be forgiven if you blow his cover!

Honestly, I'd think you're more likely to run into the bevy of heavily armoured people running down the road than one man hiding carefully and silently in the undergrowth.

The preceding events almost had Radel anxious about this moment, but then he realised - talk of ancient relics aside, this man was just another common fugitive in his woods. A petty murderer and arsonist. A man who bludgeoned an elderly scholar to death with a candlestick.*

One more name ascribed to the Scream.*

He squeezed the grips of his scimitar, and a thousand pin-prick holes opened along the blades. He felt them vibrate under his hands, and he allowed himself a smile.*

As the man in black walked past oblivious, both blades lashed out from the undergrowth, moving with lethal force.*

to note - he's presumably flat footed, but also in the cloud of feats revolving around two weapon fighting I've completely lost track of my penalties... But you hopefully have a fair idea, since you recommended the feat combination. These rolls are just base attack + strength, + enchantment where applicable. Let me know if I hit, and I'll flavour it up and roll damage!

Wildly, you spring from the shadows upon the stranger, slashing madly with your scimitars. They slice through the dark leather worn by the man, causing him to hiss in pain momentarily before he turns to face you.
"Fool! I thought you were smarter than to ignore my warnings. You have no idea what you're dealing with here, human!"
