"Yeah sure. The drones can do their work fine. Your internal organs must be the same. Since the basic composition of your blood hasn't changed one bit." The drones start working on Khiansa.

The drones should find that Khiansa's internal organs are... exactly the same as they were. Except magical. And healing quicker than puny human organs. And resistant to pain killers. So maybe they aren't the same. But they're similar enough!

[Reinholdt]

Irene reads off the drone's results to Khiansa. As the drones say it. In front of him.

This is much like repeating what the computer says out loud on some space ship I suppose.

"So care to fill me in a little bit more on this enemy of yours and what exactly you did when you fought him?"

[Ashen Lilies]

"He had this Lyre."
He holds up the Lyre. Yes, it is so important that it must have a capital letter.
"It warps reality when played. I thought I'd avoided all of the effects, but it seems I haven't. It might have turned me into an outsider."
When he says 'outsider' the drones confirm his blood and organs match with readings to two other known outsiders and former members.

[Reinholdt]

"Well that'd explain it I guess..."

"An instrument that warps reality?"

Khiansa probably sees Irene contemplating.

"The Lyre is not to be used."

[Reinholdt]

"Of course. I wouldn't dream of it."

Khiansa eyes her suspiciously.
"LYRE!"

Khiansa just nods. Suspiciously.

She gets a drone to tranq Khiansa and steals the instrument while he's sleeping.

"Well take care of yourself better next time." She heads off to deadtime.

[The Bushranger]

I'm horrible... She buries her face in Dani's shoulder, still clinging her tightly.

No, you're not. You're wonderful and I love you no matter what, Dani reassures/promises as she keeps gently rubbing Sam's back and holding her tight.

Sure. Take me to Neirian.

Quinn raises an eyebrow. Who's Neirian?

I love you too Dani... She gives a long, drawn-out sigh.

Dani hugs Sam as tightly as she dares, seeming as if she never, ever wants to let go.
It's OK, Sammie. she whispers, trying to sound reassuring and comforting. No matter what happened, it's OK. I'm with you and I'll never, ever leave you.

Nothing happened, love... Her voice is soft and weak, but she seems to have regained control over her emotions. I just feel so bad...

Flames descend in the Rose Garden, black and orange, thick, smoke brimming off them, clearing to show Vorka. Or what's left of him, clutching his book, and unnatural lightning.

He walks into the base.

Dani hesitates, just for an instant, but then decides that pressing the issue that something had to have happened to make Sam cry like that wouldn't be of the good at the moment.
Well, I don't want you to feel bad, love. she whispers, gently brushing her hand through Sam's hair. Do you need to rest? Or is there anything I can get you?

I don't know... Why don't we get something to eat? Sam pulls away and smiles at Dani, upset no more.

Irene yawns and wakes from her nap on the couch. So much to do lately... redemption classes, Lex, Lyre, Crimson. Sheesh.

She looks over at Vorka. ".... Vorka? Is that you?" Did her gaze have some sort of long term secondary effects she didn't know about?

[The Bushranger]

Dani smiles back at Sam, happy to see her happy. That sounds like a good idea to me! She gives her fiance another squeeze before hopping up and offering her her hand to stand. I'll cook!

Sam takes the hand and stands up, starting to grin, even. All right!

[Kaelaroth]

Vorka pauses, not answering Irene, for a moment, preferring to quickly glance down at his tome, where words jump at the ready, only too happy to help. When he looks back up, after a quick handwave, and mutter, there is a shadowy sheen in front of his eyes. 'tis I. And your gaze is no longer an issue. There shall be no more ugliness, dear Irene, or stunning, or blinding, from you to me, thank you. One might notice that voice change too! Eee! He seems to walking towards the armoury? Or the detention wing?!

[Reinholdt]

Irene looks confused, but keeps the mirrored glasses on anyways. She hops up to follow Vorka. "Hey. Wait a second. What happened to you? Are you alright?"

[Kaelaroth]

Never better. Vorka says, striding up to the armoury. Is there anything in here?

[The Bushranger]

Dani grins back and happily goes to lead Sam to the kitchen, where she points at a stool. Sit, she says in a mock-commanding tone before giggling and going to fix Cuban sandwiches.

[Reinholdt]

"You... look different. You SOUND different."

She glances at the armory door. "Umm... I think the drones filled it with some basic stuff, but most of it was destroyed in the explosion."

[FireFox]

Sam giggles as well and sits down.

[Kaelaroth]

Hm. Pity. Downstairs it is, then. Vorka says, heading for the stairs, momentarily noting his reflection. Effeminate, admittedly, but better than what you gave me.

[Reinholdt]

Irene follows. "Sorry. And yeah, obviously. But what happened? You... you didn't use the book did you?"

[Kaelaroth]

Of course I used it. Vorka says, striding downstairs, towards...
... the detention blocks. Yeah.

[The Bushranger]

Dani fixes the sandwiches up in a hurry, then heads over to take a seat on the chair right next to Sam's, wrapping her arm around her partner's waist and giving her a squeeze and a kiss on the cheek as she sets a plate with two jumbo-size sandwiches in front of them.
Love you, Sammie. Let's eat!
And she'll go to dig in, as her player has to run.

"But... that thing's cursed! I mean... it can't be handled properly. Don't you remember what happened earlier? Shouldn't we have destroyed it by now?" Destroying it sounds like a good idea.
