Alexis waves happily to Butler. She raises an eyebrow to The King, curious of his reaction to her.

[Reinholdt]

Butler goes to help the man out. "Goodbye sir. Have a good day sir."

Then he goes back. He notices the paper and goes to pick up the paper and examine it to see if the man just forgot it or forgot to throw it away.

The paper cutout looks like Alexis.
It is very badly torn and crumbled.

[SeptAngel]

What did he drop, Butler? Alexis asks sweetly.

[Reinholdt]

Butler looks at it. Then Alexis. Then it. Then Alexis. Then offers it to her.

"He dropped you ma'am."

[SeptAngel]

She looks at it as her hand starts to shake a little. W-What did I do?

[Reinholdt]

Butler shakes his head. "I don't know ma'am. I didn't think you did anything ma'am." Now might have been a good time for Butler to have actually checked those alignment scanners for once. Oh well.

[SeptAngel]

I think he's evil, Butler. She says, looking scared.

Well, he only walked out the door about five seconds ago, the alignment scanners should still be showing his alignment.

It is CE.

P.S. The scanners flash the alignment on the top of the door frame. It should be easy to check.

[Reinholdt]

True. It'd be kinda silly to have scanners that only keep it up for a whole 2 seconds.

Not that Butler is checking. Alexis can.

"Evil ma'am?"
"But... but... he didn't try to eat anyone ma'am."

"What if he wanted to eat Comet ma'am?!"

Alexis doesn't know how to check them or she might. I don't think it's eating he wants to do. I think it's killing. He wants me to be like that paper... She tries to explain.

[Reinholdt]

"He wants to turn you into paper ma'am?"

He wants to rip me apart. She tries to explain.

Butler starts shuddering. "What should I do ma'am?"

[SeptAngel]

She goes up and puts a hand on his shoulder. Just make sure you let me know if he comes in again. Okay? She tries to give a reassuring.

[Reinholdt]

Butler nods. "Right away ma'am. Should I still let him in ma'am? He'll probably come back tomorrow or something ma'am."

[SeptAngel]

Check his alignment first. If he's evil like I think he is, then he probably shouldn't be let in. She suggest.

Alex now walks over to Alexis, looking concerned. What happened? Who wants to do what?

From the second she got there, Misaki has been next to her, most of the time with silent tears gliding down her cheeks. Currently, the little girl is slumped asleep in a chair next to Quinn. Occasionally, the fitfully dreaming girl sends flashes of emotions to Quinn across their mental link. Concern, anxiety, fear...

~Wake up, Quinn. Please. I love you. Please wake up.~

From Quinn, there's a feeling of...well, not much. But if Misaki pays enough attention, she might get a sensation of a deep sense of failure and grief from her unconsious friend. It seems she's retreated deep into her mind, only a consious effort will reach her...

Check his alignment first. If he's evil like I think he is, then he probably shouldn't be let in. She suggest.

"Check his what now ma'am?"

Butler bows to Alex. "The man who was just here wants to turn Alexis into paper and rip her apart sir."

From Quinn, there's a feeling of...well, not much. But if Misaki pays enough attention, she might get a sensation of a deep sense of failure and grief from her unconsious friend. It seems she's retreated deep into her mind, only a consious effort will reach her...

Misaki wakes up. For a few seconds she sits, curled up in the chair. She's feeling the exchange from the mental link. Then she collects her consciousness into a little ball of will and tries to go deep into Quinn's mind, consciously searching for her caretaker.

She shows Alex the crumpled paper of her. I have a feeling someone wants to kill me. Who was he anyway? She asks Butler.

[Reinholdt]

Butler shakes his head. "No idea ma'am. He just came in asking to see pictures of members ma'am. I told him we didn't have any so he described Comet ma'am. I went to go get him, but he was ill, so I returned and told him ma'am. That's all I know ma'am."

[SeptAngel]

Thank you, Butler. You've been helpful. She smiles to him.

Alex clenches his fists instinctually.

Misaki will find entering Quinn's mind through their link will be surprisingly easy. Seems her shields are down...

There's a sensation that Quinn has buried herself deep in her mind, shutting herself off from everything.

Well, Misaki tries to find whatever is Quinn deep in her mind and starts pulling on it like she would her sleeve, trying to tug her out. ~Come on, Quinn, wake up! Please!~

Vidalia goes in search of Butler.

She describes what the King looked like to Alex. Seeing his fists clenched, she gently tries to take his hand in hers. Do you know him at all?

[Reinholdt]

Vidalia doesn't have to search long. He goes looking for her as soon as he's done. Which was now.

"Hi Vidalia ma'am."

[The Bushranger]

Yeah, I do. He's called the White King and he tried to kill you when you were evil.
She's able to take his hand, and he seems to relax a bit.
I...
Suddenly Alex goes to pull Alexis into a tight hug.



Quinn finally stirs mentally in response to Misaki's urgent call, a wave of sorrow coming out. ~Misaki?~

She hugs him back just as tightly, putting her face into his neck. Maybe he'll change his mind when he sees I'm no longer evil. Sounds more like she's wishing than anything.
