Rick opted to say nothing. He didn't think his type rubbed very well with the tough anyway.

"If there's any animals, they would help in keeping the fire hot. Also, it's meat for a change." He curses silently in frustration when he knicks himself on the knife for the third time.

*shrugging*

I couldn't tell you what was in it. I can tell you I spent the next few days treating soldiers for the Trots.

As for meat...there are fish in the ocean. We can always go catch them.

Kayode peered into the crater hoping to catch a sign of either of the two missing castaways.

Do you think they may have fallen in?

He continues to survey the surrounding area, looking for any evidence of the captain or the lady.

[Morpheus]

To go fishing, wouldnt we need a spear, or fishing rod of somesort. I have never managed in my life to see someone grab a fish with their bare hands....*mutters in arabic about it would need to be a big fish, and that everyone is crazy or something of the unintelligable sort* Ali thens goes back to thinking about stuff. Like how to catch a fish. Or how to get off this island.

At the crater

"Careful, mate. You don't want to fall in that hole."

Will and Kayode move carefully closer to the crater and the heat becomes more intense and the fumes become more sulphuric the closer you go.

"If they fell in, there's nothing we can do about it, eh? Let's go."

You continue northwest until the fog is less dense and you can see better.

To your right, you can see a bay. A narrow stretch of beach overlooks the bay. You also notice a 10 ft. tall and nearly as wide stone arch at the edge of the cliff about a hundred yards to the north.

In the cave

Freddy adds some ingredients to the soup. The taste and smell of the soup improves considerably.

Much better. Now....shall we check the back of the cave while we can?

That seems out of place.

Kayode says as he raises his hand to point at the arch in the distance.

If the captain and the lady indeed went this way, they may have thought it odd as well.

He begins to walk toward the stone arch as he continues.

If we find no evidence that either have been there, we will turn back and tell the others the news of the bay. It will most likely be the best place to attempt to leave.

We need animals that have blubber, since that can help to fuel our fire.

Alright, Rick sighs, Let's go investigate that cave.

He makes sure his flintlock is loaded and clean and then says, Alright, I'm ready.

[Morpheus]

Unsheathing his sword and swinging it around him, Ali is ready to go. I am ready to go as well.

[Croverus]

Freddy

"I'm gonan stay here. We've got this semi-camp set up, someone should stay behind, rigt? I've got my dagger incase the smell of the soup attracts anything. Hell, I'm hoping it does."

[Kensen]

Michael, Ali and Rick

Weapons drawn, the three men start walking down the dark tunnel. Michael is carrying a torch, but since you have no pitch or other suitable material to use, the torch is likely to go out quickly.

After 50 yards, the tunnel turns sharply to the left. The men continue down the tunnel for another 30 yards. Then the tunnel opens into a vast chamber, but because your source of illumination is rather poor, you can only see the first 10 feet of it.

Suddenly, you can hear a menacing screech coming from the chamber. Then another. And another. And another. Michael recognizes the screeches - more bird-things. They scream in unison, their voices full of murderous intent.

Kayode, Will and Robert

The stone arch is even and polished, and it bears many strange runes and inscriptions. Kayode, Will and Robert try to read it or find any familiar looking patterns, but most of them are totally incomprehensible. At the apex of the arch, however, there is a large symbol that looks vaguely familiar. A simple fish symbol.

The arch is at the edge of the cliff. In the cliff face below the arch, crude stairs have been carved. The stairs are narrow, slippery looking, and unlike the arch, very uneven. They seem to descend hundreds of feet down, to the beach lining the bay.

Oh lord.

Oh lord oh lord oh lord!

Rick bolts for it, trying to find his way back to the cave's entrance and warn Freddy. He waves his musket to and fro, ready to shoot anything that leaps in front of him... or that he happens to touch.

Well, this isn't good.

At that, Michael turns and runs.

Oh hello there! Rick shouted to Michael, noticing he'd chosen to run along with him, Mind using that torch of yours to guide us back to whence we came?

[Morpheus]

PRAISE ALLAH!!!! Ali shouts running from whence he came.

Rick pauses momentarily to comment to Ali, You really are the religious sort, aren't you? Before continuing to run.

[Morpheus]

I like to think of myself as quite religious, yes. Allah promised me my virgins if I follow his command. It is all in all quite a good deal. Ali says pausing a moment from running. Remembering the topic at hand he sheathes his sword and continues running.

Rick pauses curiously, deferring to change the subject, as, in accordance to his family name, he had to maintain a stance of theist neutrality, So what were you doing aboard the ship before this all happened - I mean, what are your er, hobbies, Ali? Catches his breath, and then continues to run... again.

He is desperate to make sure no one outpaces him for once.

[Morpheus]

Ali says to him My hobbies consist of being on a ship, swordfighting and drinking. What are yours?

Reading mostly. Most recently I finished The Pleasures of the Imagination, but eh, what was your duty on the ship? You had assignments... ?

No matter what Ali says, Rick divulges in a description of his own work, I myself was the crew chemist. My duties included ensuring that explosives were kept in safe repair. I don't know how much use that could be now...

[Morpheus]

I was mainly the helmsman. I did do some other work too, like ropeing, sailing, and basic deck work. Do you think we will get off this island? I hope so for I still have much in my life I need to accomplish. *mutters in Arabic- Like get off this island so I can report back to the ship I was on....and get married. hopefully.*

[Kensen]

You run, run and run until you're back at the entrance to the cave. You notice that Will, Robert and Kayode have returned.

"Hey, why are you running?" Will asks Michael, Ali and Rick. "We could not find the Cap or the lady, but we did find a stone arch and stairs..."

Everyone hears more screeches coming from the tunnel.

"Oh crap, this isn't good!" Will says and c*cks his pistol.

[imp_fireball]

We could smoke them out and use them as food... unless of course, they've been chasing after us this entire time! He says through gasps, whilst aiming his flintlock at the dark entrance.

Rick finds it hard to believe he's outrun anything. Though perhaps he is just overwhelmed by the fact that he was running for his life.

They're darn slow... I think.

[Krrth]

*Breathing hard*

Perhaps....we could....lure them over....the cliff?

Freddy

"What in the bloody blazes is going on around here? Seems to me this cave aint the safest place to be. We should try to find another place to take shelter."

He stands up, gripping his knife and looking into the darkness. His foot is close to the pot where the soup is cooking and he's ready to kick the pot and the hot soup into the face of anything that jumps out at them.

Perhaps....we could....lure them over....the cliff?

Good god, brilliant! Maybe we should hide off to the side, or...

Rick is too afraid to suggest how though, and is prepared to hear what else Michael has to say.

Spotting Freddy with wild eyes, No, not the soup! he chokes out.

[Kensen]

Slowly but steadily, the monsters get closer. The wet, slapping sound made by their big feet echoes louder and louder with every second.

There are four of them. One of them has a spearhead embedded in its chest.

[Morpheus]

*Ali prays really fast in Arabic to Allah* RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!! Ali says before running outside and hiding behind a tree near the cave. If they come out of the cave he will climb up it.

[Krrth]

Michael

As soon as Michael saw the creatures he had a moment of doubt. Should he stay and fight, or run. he did what any intelligent man would do under these circumstances. He ran. Pausing only long enough to grab his bag he left the cave. Moving towards the interior of the island, he hoped he would find a tree of something out of their reach.

Um gentlemen, what of the trap? Gentlemen?!?

Rick wildly looks around for something to poke the creatures with at range... a sharp stick or perhaps a burning brand, anything.

Evidently, they are slow and merely need to be lured, but it is unknown how intelligent they are... already evidence proves that they can survive considerable wounds and are probably efficient killers.
