Re: Searching for Shinies I
25 bends iron bars. The party is able to gain access to the chest, which includes a large supply of gold (in pure gold coins studded with a small diamond and worth 10 pp each); a potion bag lined with seven different potions, a scroll case with 8 scrolls, and an ivory token in the shape of a shark. This is all underwater, and I need to know who is the one underwater with the loot.

Re: Searching for Shinies I
Do any in the party have the swim skill? I guess I should have checked that. In any case, I can just change how the encounter starts. As the party breaks down the iron bars, a huge sound reverberates along the dungeon. Alerting denizens of an aquatic nature...
Roll for initiative.

Re: Searching for Shinies I
Everyone except 4is11 goes before the.. enemy (a set of Locathah). The enemies are still underwater before their turn begins, and for their turn are going to jump out of the water and land right next to a party member (2 enemies per PC). I'll have a map up ASAP.

Re: Searching for Shinies I
Spoiler
Sorry the map took so long. I will not be able to update it for the next week or so, but I can still post updates via my iphone. I also apologize for not explaining everything, but the important thing is that you guys are surrounded and the blue stuff is water.
Basically, everyone except Jack is ready and got a full round to act before the Locathahs jumped out of the water and surrounded the party (everyone not flatfooted gets an attack of opportunity). Then Jack goes and that completes round one.
When it is their turn again in round two, the Locathahs will attack whomever is closest to them, giving priority to those they can easily flank. In order to simplify drawing the battle and flanking rules, they are all equiped with spears rather than longspears (I'm not really in the mood to deal with reach and flanking for 10 opponents.)

As the scaly horrers begin to emerge, Deven panics. He falls back into the corner, and greases the floor between him and the water. Any monsters who want to approach will have to make a dc: 15 ref save to avoid falling.

Re: Searching for Shinies I
SpoilerSorry. Very hard to post combat with an Iphone. And this bloody trip is lasting longer than I anticipated.
Combat starts with 10 locathahs, L1 through L10. They are ordered from Top Left to Bottom right. Two Locathahs are attacking each player. Struck Locathahs (L4 and L8) are dead before the enemies get their first round to attack.
Row 2
L1-Godrick
L2- Deven
L3- Deven
L4- Edgard
Row 3
L5- Godrick
L6- Edgard
Row 4
L7- Ector
L8- Jack
Row 5
L9- Jack
Row 6
L10- Ector
There are two Locathahs that try to approach Deven:
Reflex Saves
L2- (1d20+1)[18]
L3- (1d20+1)[9]
If they make their saves, they will move towards and attack Deven:
SpoilerL2- Attack: (1d20+2)[16]
L3- Attack: (1d20+2)[8]
If they fail their saves, they are prone and flop back into the water.
Two Locathahs are flanking Godrick, and they are going to attack:
L1- Attack: (1d20+4)[6]
L5- Attack: (1d20+4)[23]
Two Locathahs are flanking Ector, and they are going to attack:
L7- Attack: (1d20+4)[21]
L10- Attack: (1d20+4)[22]
One Locathah is attacking Edgard, and one is attacking Jack. Their attacks, respectively:
L6- Attack: (1d20+2)[4]
L9- Attack: (1d20+2)[13]
Since everyone basically delayed to right after the Locathahs, everyone gets to go now for the second round.
Trodon (Ector) has yet to post his actions for the first round (unless I'm mistaken), so he still has a chance to deal damage before the enemy's turn.

Re: Searching for Shinies I
Godrick fights on diligently despite the pain caused from a landed blow.
SpoilerIf they're flanking me, I assume D2 moved to B1. I get an AoO as it leaves C1 or C2 depending on it's path.
AoO: Sting of the Bee
Attack - (1d20+7)[16]
Damage - (1d6+2)[3]
ConfirmCrit - (1d20+7)[13]
AddlDamage - (1d6+2)[4]
I take a hit for 5 damage from one of the two attacks, the other doesn't connect.
On my turn, Godrick takes another 5' step to A3 and attacks B3 again.
Sting of the Wasp
Attack - (1d20+3)[16]
Damage - (1d6+2)[3] piercing
ConfirmCrit - (1d20+3)[11]
AddlDamage - (1d6+2)[4] piercing
Attack - (1d20+3)[23] ((critical))
Damage - (1d6+2)[4] piercing
ConfirmCrit - (1d20+3)[11]
AddlDamage - (1d6+2)[3] piercing
Attack - (1d20+2)[13] offhand
Damage - (1d6+1)[5] piercing
ConfirmCrit - (1d20+2)[13]
AddlDamage - (1d6+1)[4] piercing

Re: Searching for Shinies I
SpoilerYou do get an AOO (had to check the flanking rules), however it is at +3, not +7 since you Flurried last turn. (your first AOO beesting was kosher, since it was the first attack of the round. This new bee sting comes after a wasp set, and thus is at the wasp base attack). As such, the attack misses.
Crit confirm fails (AC 14 btw guys. Since I tend to forget to state whether or not a hit was good, now you guys will know on your own). And the bloody thing is still standing.
