"I was scared of her when I first met her, but I think she's nice too," Sunny says. "My name is Sunny, and this is IZK-alpha."

Misaki looked at Sunny quizzically. "Why were you scared of her?"

"I thought she was going to hurt me," Sunny says, crinkling her face in confusion. "I don't know why I thought that."

[Neon Knight]

Miskai just looks more confused. "Charity wouldn't hurt anyone. You were just being silly."

"I know but..." Her voice drops. "There are scary people out there who would hurt me."

[Neon Knight]

Misaki goes over to Sunny and tries to take her hand in both hers. "Y-yeah, that's true. But nice people like Quinn and Daisuke and Charity watch out for us and keep us safe. So you don't have to worry. Okay?" Misaki smiled brightly up at Sunny.

"From what I've been told, she was hit with some kind of effect that erased her mind. There was an antidote, but she turned out to have an allergy to one of the ingredients. Magtok made a synthetic version of it to see if that will bypass her allergies, but I'm still worried about anaphylactic shock." Charity says. She takes the synthetic Cypress of Kashmar and shows it to Quinn.

Quinn looks at it in curiosity. I don't think I've seen anything like this before. I'll take a look at it...

And one presumes she did.

She now goes looking for Charity and/or Misaki. Or both!


Brendan is in the kitchen, cooking burning toast again.

Charity stayed deadtimed with Quinn, obviously. Just ignore the clone who is deadtimed with Ash.

"The other thing... I don't want to get my sister's hopes up if it's not likely to work. But I don't really want to give her something that might be dangerous without her consent either..." Charity shakes her head.

And in order to get everything that needs to be done, done, in the time BR has...there are two Quinns!

Quinn in the earlier continuity nods to Charity. I can totally understand that. Er...did any of the meddrones get a sample of her blood or tissue before? She steps over to check.

Brendan butters his burnt toast.

Misaki hears the thump of the fainting Quinn and turns. "Oh, no!" Misaki dashes over to Quinn. "Quinn!"

[FireFox]

The fox immediately dashes across the room and tries to wake the paladin up.

"I don't know," Charity says. But Quinn will find all of Sunny's records in the computer. She was examined the day after the Apoca-Con, discovered to have been raped by more than one assailant, administered emergency contraception on Corentin's authority, and released. A few days later, was given the antidote to the anti-sapience potion, but went into anaphylactic shock. Testing identified the allergen as Cypress of Kashmar.

Samples of the potion, and the recipe for making more if needed, are also in the system.

[Greatroom]

When Quinn falls, Sunny and IZK-alpha do the panicky weapons showing thing before lowering them.

Quinn frowns mightly at the computer record for Sunny. Oh my...Charity, is this something to fix her mind, or her memories? If it works the latter way you don't want to give it to her, she says firmly.

Now-Quinn starts to come around groggily at the attention of Misaki and Tobias the fox. Wha...what happened, Misaki? she whispers.

"I, um... I went with Butler to his home. A-and I met Adam, and he made me a catgirl." Misaki looked at Quinn, unsure of herself. "I t-thought it was neat..."

[Reinholdt]

Butler is around! In the... umm... pool area I guess. Cleaning.
But he's there should Quinn need to talk to him or something.

Quinn looks torn between voicing her own opinions on the matter and not wanting to hurt Misaki...
Finally she speaks softly as she sits up.
Sweetie...what's wrong with how you were?

And yes, Butler B. Butler will be getting an earful at some point.

"Both, I think," Charity says. "I mean, she doesn't appear to have suffered any loss of intellectual capability, but she doesn't have the experience to relate to the world in any meaningful way. The type of amnesia you see in movies, the person is an adult with a blank slate for a mind, but Sunny was reduced a lot farther. She still has the mind of a child, even though she's learning a lot faster than a child would."

"I, um.. well, nothing, I just thought this would be cool..."

Earlier:

Well... Quinn pauses, considering. Do you...know what happened to her? That caused her...ah...condition?
She orders one of the medical drones over to Charity to give her a printout of the truth!

Maybe so, but...do you know if you can be changed back? If might be cool for awhile, but do you want to be stuck like that forever? Quinn asks softly, about to comment about does she know what might happen with Misaki's...ability......then narrows her eyes as something else registers. And take that collar off.
That wasn't said softly at all.

"B-but Butler gave me this as a gift..." Misaki pouts looking at Quinn with big eyes. "A-and I like this!"

The fox tries to send a telepathic message to Quinn. With gene splicing like that, it would be almost impossible to reverse it. I could try, but I can almost guarantee that I wouldn't be able to take those genes out...

"I heard there was some kind of terrorist attack by a cat." Charity reads the printout. "What?! She was assaulted? And no one knows who did it?!"

(Earlier)

Reinholdt. Quinn fairly hisses the name. And how would they - the people who did it were under the same effect and didn't even know their own names...

She sighs, running a hand through her hair. If she's learning fast the way things are now, I get the feeling giving her this, even if she wasn't allergic to the synthetic variation, would probably cause more problems than it solved.


(Now)

Quinn shakes her head. A collar is a symbol of subservience and ownership - I know Butler wouldn't mean it that way, but other people will see that and think you're a slave - or worse - and that you're required to obey them, no matter what they might ask you to do. Quinn's voice softens at the big eyes, but her position on the matter does not. I'm sorry, sweetie, but that's not something a girl wears - especially not one as wonderful as you are.

She glances in the fox's direction. ~That's what I was afraid of. I need to have words with this "Adam" person...~




In the kitchen, Brendan gives up on toast and fixes a bowl of cereal. He can't burn that.

Misaki backs away a bit from Quinn. "I don't want to!"

Charity's shoulders slump. No, of course it wasn't the fault of the men who had found themselves turned into animals. Her fists remain clenched at her side. "Why do you think it would cause more problems?" she finally asks.

[The Bushranger]

(Earlier)

Well... Quinn takes a deep breath. I'm presuming she doesn't remember any of that. What do you think would happen if - all of a sudden - she did?


(Now)

Quinn sighs, but her voice remains firm. It's Momma Quinn!
Misaki, your wearing that collar is wrong. More than that, it's evil. Do you want to be evil?

[Reinholdt]

Evil? o.O

What convenient timing. Butler walks in. Not that he's heard the conversation yet. "Hi ma'ams. Hi sir. How are you today ma'ams, sir?"

Butler's smile falters slightly when he sees faces and realizes something is going on. All the same, he bows to Tobias, Quinn, and Misaki. Wearing his own collar as always. It jingles a little and makes a wonderful sound.

[Neon Knight]

Misaki paused. "N-no... b-but... um..." That was something she was confused about. "Quinn, I need to ask you about something I saw at Butler's home."

And then Butler walks in and Misaki looks to him. "Oh, Butler! Q-quinn doesn't want me to wear your collar..."
