Fears 3: Full Circle - Game Started at Post 88

The pretty little toy collie that used to be Miranda stretches awake...then whimpers quietly. In her pretty white fur is a small brown crescent-shaped patch of fur, just under her ear. She scoots a little closer to the other dog there and settles her head upon her paws, watching the room.

[Reinholdt]

Right! *dons hat labelled "Captain Obvious"*

Down to brass tacks. Things that need to target Reinholdt tonight:

A scry, to verify that he isn't another wolf
A bane so he doesn't die
A meddle so the Devil can't make the scry interference, and so he isn't silenced. A network center that can't talk isn't much better than a dead one. (I think that's how that works, anyway.)

We very well may get only one shot at this. Showtime!

Do meddles even work like that?

Not sure how good an idea that is, but whatever.
And it would be an incredibly odd day indeed if I were a wolf and not the fool.

People I've got suspicions of based on yesterday, which at the very least should be chock full of information:
Lex-kat: I find her actions a little unusual in the matter. She did continually defend FC. And she was quick to switch away the first reasonable chance she got.
Jontom Xire: Did a pretty good job almost derailing the FC wagon by himself, before any claims started bouncing around.

Murska: Not really suspicious of him, but just pointing out he's not really in the clear. Until he's killed or scried. Because Murska is just that good as a wolf. Bastard.
Seriously though. There are various reasons today that are both for his favor and against his favor. Not ready to lynch him though.

Not saying any of them are wolves. Are saying they're more suspicious than others. Of course, one way to find out... *holds up lynch rope*

Now excuse me, I need to prepare for my inevitable demise.

Skeeter wakes up and wanders about the room, hoping to find a chewy or two that he stashed.

Martin just sits there for a moment, shaking his head back and forth. Then, very slowly, he stands. "Yes. That's what I thought too. … except, I don't know what happened next. The last thing I remember, the library was burning, and… then I woke up here." He looks downwards as he speaks, posture hunched and worried.
((And deadtime for 48 hours. Don't auto me, kay?))

"Doesn't seem to have burned quite so well as we believed then. Or maybe this is some sort of twisted life flashing before your eyes thing before the curtain falls."

Sunny hears a ticking sound and tilts her head, trying to find out where it's coming from. Ah, over there, next to the sleeping man. She sits down next to Murska and picks up his alarm clock, putting it to her ear to hear the ticking. Her grubby face lights up in wonder.

Collie-Miranda trots along after Skeeter, hoping he will...acknowledge her?

Skeeter reaches his paw under the couch, his mouth opening into a doggie grin as he finds what he is looking for. He pulls out two chewies and takes one. He looks from the collie to the chewy and back several times, offering it.

The little collie yips happily and takes the chewie, her tail wagging. But her eyes, when she looks at Skeeter, are...odd. Human, and grey in color. And there's that crescent-shape in her fur...

"Mmmm, so much twitter and drang. I say, we need a little something. Something to liven the evening and burn off all this excess anxiety. Perhaps a game of charades?"

The victims of Pegasus manor bundled together as the night came, all worried that they might be one taken next.

So close to each other, yet so far away, it was each woman and man for themselves during the nights. While the light of the day gave false hope all such things faded away with the sunlight.

Yet two people, two lone souls dared to face the darkness together. Hope rides alone...

They were outside a door with a complex lock on it.

"I don't like this Sarah... we shouldn't be up like this."

"Relax Evvie, we have as large chance to be killed as everyone else."

Evvie rolls his eyes "Geez, thanks for *that* encouragement."

Sarah giggled "Eh, don't be such a wuss, I found a room yesterday..."

"So? It's obviously locked."

"Nope, it's locked from the outside you see..." She knocked the door open and let her flashlight lit up the room beyond it.

And it was a room unlike any other of the manor, there weren't any dust on the walls or the floor, the wallpaper looked new and there was robust table in the middle of it.

"Wow... this place is nice... how did you find it?"

"Skills, it feels so much fresher then the other rooms... maybe we should sleep here instead?"

Evvie stepped inside and looked around. "Your right, this place dose feel nice. If I move the table, will you get our things?" He smiled widely at her.

She smiled back and replied with a wink "You got a deal strong guy."

Sarah was quick on her feet and could soon enough return to the room, the first thing she noticed was that the door was locked.

"Huh... wierd."

She unlocked it, but when she opened it she was met by a very different room. The wall papers had been torn and were clad much like the floor by a heavy layer of dust.

The table had been moved away, but now looked as ancient as the rest of it. She coughed as dust started to fly around her, it looked like no one had lived her for many, many years.

She stepped inside, confused. As she scoured the room she could not help to notice the skeleton next to the door. It had no clothes and it's chest had been gnawed upon.

On the door and the walls around it were writing that she to her horror recognized were Evvie's hand style.

Help me...

Just open.

Sarah?

I miss you.

Can you hear me?

I'm feeling sick.

Please just open the door...

I'm sick.

Why won't you open it?

Please...

The last section closest to the skeleton was from the looks of it written by a very shaky hand.

How could you leave me...?

There is something gnawing inside...

The last segment of the text were written in a completely different hand style however.

Yeesh, if you're gonna edit your post, can you correct all the instances where you call me a boy? :P

But to answer your question, I was initially posting at Wolfbane and my post was concluding that animals were least able to control their primal responses, which fear relies upon... but after a moment I thought about it and I didn't like blindly pointing at someone just because they had an unusual character, I'd rather those who add to the game stay unless I have an -actual- reason to suspect them!

And I'm not really ready to point at anyone yet... trying to decide whether to trust Reinholdt X_x

Confusion swept across Robert, he knew what he had seen yet his brain refused to register it. On auto-pilot, he flew down the stairs. Cautiously he approached Sheelah. Sheelah? Are you ok? He reaches out slowly to makes sure she is unhurt.

Sheelah moans in pain, curled up in a ball at the foot of the stairs. There is blood.

Welp... after much thought I've decided that Reinholdt did press the FC bandwagon, and that worked pretty well.. so I'll follow his post from before and say Jontom Xire

Lex-Cat was also on his list... but I'm not convinced she's a wolf.

Oddity walked to the kitchen to see what he could fix himself for a snack. He hadn't eaten since... well... he doesn't know when. He graciously avoided a drawer labeled 'Open and die' and eventually found a loaf of bread at the very back of the broken cubboard.
"Mm... so nice... I'm starving"

With the new burst of energy he decided to go exploring yet again, this time back up the staircase and into the bedrooms upstairs.
"EVERYONE SHALL DIE!"
"Oh man, I really need to stop exploring"

Robert thought back to the time he had taken first aid training, in hopes of getting a job as a life guard. He looks around for something to make a sling out of. He finds a jacket and returns. Hold still this may hurt. He takes a deep breath. Slowly he fashions a sling around her arm, out of the jacket. Once the arm is secure he tie's the arms of the jacket around her neck so that it will hold the arm in place while still providing some movement.
He looks at her and helps her sit up, as he does he cant help but feel something on her back. He raises an eye. What..... He leaves the question unsaid.

I agree with your analysis - except that I know I'm not a fear - but then I would say that (or words to that effect) if I was.

I reckon Reinholdt is supicious. When I read what Murska quoted I read it as one mason trying to protect a fellow mason.

Then Reinholdt jumps in trying to head off the collapse of the FC bandwagon that Lex-kat was trying to derail.

I can understand Murska picking up that post and interpreting it like that - those two have LOADS of history with each other (and me actually) but Reinholdt? He's smarter than that (I think).

Mind you, FC has fooled me before too.

So I was wrong. Won't be the last time. But look what I wrote about Lex-Kat. Even though I thought FC was probably innocent (wrongly), Lex-Kat seemed to me to be trying to derail the bandwagon.


Then a new day starts and, knowing she's going to be targetted after Reinholdt's post, she tries to start a bandwagon to draw people's attention to Fujin Akari instead of her. Pre-emptive action, I reckon.
