I have a few things to rant about that are off topic for every thread so I will put them in a spoiler.
    Spoiler
    Show
First, somehow I pulled a muscle in my back by just sitting down, and it hurts to sit, stand, walk, bend over, lie down, move at all, and I have to go to the store today to buy things for cooking this evening. I can't walk there because I randomly crippled myself, but I can't have my friends paying for this stuff, especially not my suitemate who wanted to split the cost with me. She can't spend any money this week for the second reason.
Amtrak. Amtrak is evil. Especially in Fredericksburg. We can't get tickets at the station, we have to order them online, they're crazy expensive and would in all likelihood not get here by Friday when Suitey and I need to take the train. I have a 10-ride pass on the VRE, which is the Virginia railway system, and I have a step-up ticket that allows me to use it on an amtrak train. VRE is loads cheaper and you can actually buy tickets around here, but the only trains that are VRE leave at 7:00 AM or earlier or 8:00 PM because people of course only ride trains when they commute. For some idiotic reason you can only use a VRE step-up ticket with a 10-ride pass or a 1-month pass, both of which are horribly expensive. Suitey has less than $50 on her card and is unwilling to ask her parents for money. She's going to call Amtrak to ask for a round-trip deal that is not stupid, something as simple as that should be possible, if that doesn't work I'll buy her tickets for her. I have enough money on my card, but another 10-ride pass ($84, + $10 step-up ticket) is an unreasonable cost for anyone to pay, especially since she won't use the train much and I don't think I'll be using it too much more. I need to save my money, especially for next weekend, and my trip to Germany next summer, but if I don't buy these tickets Suitey will have to stay here over fall break. We looked at Greyhound as an alternative, but a round-trip ticket on that is even more expensive than Amtrak and would take a lot longer.
Meanwhile, I'm going to have to ask Roomie to go to the store for me, which means she'll have to pay and I'll have to pay her back, I hate this situation so much. What the hell happened to my back?!

soooo... I dropped into my local Sonic Drive-In last night around 10:15, only to find that they were processing $207 order.

of course, we had been forewarned, but still... it was epic.

    From my...urgh...Facebook Profile.
There once was a net-guy named Ruts
Who was told without ifs, ands, or buts
    He must stop and design
    A profile online
And if he would not, he's a putz

So he fought, and he screamed, and he kicked
    But eventually, he was licked,
    So he swallowed his bile
    And he made a profile
On the fad network site that was picked

But he wasn't quite into this fad
And so being an insolent lad
    He stuck on his page
    A poem full of rage
That would make certain people feel bad

And that is the point of this rhyme
Which has taken too much of my time
So I think I'll stop now, and

Otherwise, if I only communicate with people via text it takes me much longer to get a sense of them, and it's not as detailed as I would like.

For instance, one of my close friends is a foresty green with little cobalt flecks, but people that I know via the internet usually only have a general colour, like 'green' or 'yellow'.
    I do that!
It's just how I do things. I've noticed that people with the same colour range of personalities tend to stick together, although there are many exceptions. For the most part my friends are in the green - blue - purple range.
Plus extra bits like swirls and flecks.

I dont actually see any differentiation between my online friends' uniqueness and my real life friends' though.
I mean, I harldy ever see just generalities.

No, RED Spy is in pornography starring the scout's mother, which might be the second worst thing that happens to the scout.

It was not your choice to remain at home today, it has been calling to you, simging to you across the glass harmonies that keep the worlds separate.
Your growing attraction to it, to the lights that beat their arrhythmic pulse, to the mirror is binding you ever closer to it.

But your dark and close senses, unnamed and uncounted by the great minds of the grasping grace of science, have felt it. Its song clings to naked skin like a web thin trap; it plays you and entangles you inside the lair that is your home. By not baring your flesh to the thing that stares behind the mirror you preserve yourself.
    Preserve time.
But you cannot truly flee. You cannot! Not until you have shattered the charmed song that mazes you and blinds you to the dreaded reality.

Come to your senses! Listen beyond the edge of listening. Hear its dreadful, terrific song and quail.
Then ready yourself, because once you have heard it with wakeful ears it shall come forth and take you.
It is swifter than shadows, slower than a falling feather.
The flicker behind your reflection is it. It is watching, waiting, hunting.

But, but, I like lazy days. I like sleepins and curling up with the Demoncat and reading and fighting her for space on the bed.
Stupid crazy potential making me lose my lazy days.
Also: the Fresher's Week timetable basically consists of pubs, drinking port, walking around pandering to steroetypes for tourists, pubs, clubs, pubs and movie nights.
    And Fresher's Fair.
But mostly pubs. Glad we've got our priorities sorted.

Wasn't your Hall fumigated? As in eradicated of bugs?
Or have they already made a comeback. Anyway, I recommend calomine lotion. Or just plain aftersun.
    And a conker.
It really works. Put a conker in the corner of your room and it keeps spiders, daddy long legs and craneflies and things aaway. Also: insect repellant. Use it.

YES! My guitarist wanted to name our band "We are Fighting the Big Guns and Will Continue to Fight the Big Guns Until They are Off Our Land".

That band name is too long. Six syllables is about the longest you can have and still be acceptable.

    . . .

    *birthday hugs*
    I'd have sent you a letter but . . .

    Um.
    Happy nineteenth birthday?
    *hugs and kiss*?
    Or something?

But I have no idea who Surjan Stevens is at all.

Our current name is "Say No to Velociraptors".

    I like it.
