I'd definitely be Larry, then. Zero's basically Moe with cynicism, a British accent, and fondness for ice pops.

Google-fu has failed. Is "irked" a transitive verb ?

Re: KataraAltinaII's Premature Not So Short & To-The-Point Random Banter #130
Failing on articulating why, probably because I keep flipping the blasted verb into the passive voice when I try (meaning there IS an object being irked--sod it, I just did it again!--but I keep wanting to convert it into the subject), but I say yes.

Re: KataraAltinaII's Premature Not So Short & To-The-Point Random Banter #130
The usage is correct, yet 'irked' is too mild to be paired with 'magnitude' and 'yield such rancor'. My preference would be to dial down the heavier and melodramatic end of the sentence, yet it's got the majority of the words in the same tone, so 'irked' is plainly the odd one out and should be replaced with 'aggrieved' or a verb of similar strength.

Re: KataraAltinaII's Premature Not So Short & To-The-Point Random Banter #130
I had thanksgiving dinner yesterday with a bunch of people I barely know. They're great people though, very friendly. Also since I moved back to Canada this year after 18 years of living abroad, this is also my first thanksgiving (not counting those when I was a baby).
Now I'm spending my day off studying for my economy midterm I have tomorrow.

Re: KataraAltinaII's Premature Not So Short & To-The-Point Random Banter #130
I now have the internet in my room. I am therefore joyous.
I've also become an official member of the Oxford University Student CHorus and this term we're performing Rossini's La Petite Messe Solmonelle. In Latin. And I'm sightreading music. This is all very good as I've not sung proper since choir in Primary; I've never sung in Latin before and I've never sightread music before.
It's easier than I thought it would be.
Haven't had any official lectures yet, those are tomorrow. Well, I have one compulsory lecture every week, so everything else's optional. But my lectures are tomorrow and, like a good university student, my essay is not yet finished. Fifteen hundred words in, not much more left.
Fun is being had. Even if the person two doors down from me is in isolation for suspected swine 'flu. But I've probably already had it and everyone's being really nice to him leaving sweeties, DVDs etc. outside his door and supplying him with food fresh from Hall and lecture notes.
He's a nice chap.

Seriously, party.
That's what Uni is for, right? Finding excuses to party?

Huzzah!
Well, I have one compulsory lecture every week, so everything else's optional.
But my lectures are tomorrow and, like a good university student, my essay is not yet finished. Fifteen hundred words in, not much more left.
So I'm sitting here making my way through a lengthy chapter detailing the basic mathematics of close binary stars. Tomorrow I'll try to work out what the formulae mean. Yay last minute stuff.

@V'icternus: Like the 'Somebody sneezed' party and the 'Day that ends in Y' party!
Actually, we had my housemate's birthday party last friday. It was good, though my best friend got REEAALLY drunk. And emphatically denied it. On the other hand, I didn't get totally knackered."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
