If a major fight shows up in Seretei (I don't mean a brawl, I mean a Captain-level fight), he will probably show up.

It's not due to a lack of trust. It's a desire to personally expell serious threats.

I mean really, it's not like they haven't proven capable, having him always show up is... Overkill...

All the other area's have some super level character around to knock people away. Soul Society gets slapped around like their nothing. The two brits frankly brought this down on themselves. First Siegfriend and now Hideki....I think after all this time the CC could come in.

This is seriously like...the 6th in game attack on Soul Society. I think its gotten beyond the point of hiding the big guns. The big guns are the only way Soul Society has a chance against The Bount, The Arrancar, The Olympians and their own bloody people.

The canon is different then BleachITP in that regard and I'd argue that Starrk isn't dead yet. Or being defeated. Just being lazy.

We have all agreed that the canon comparitive power levels for what people can do (Ie. VC > Captain. High level captains now < Highest Espada...), which ahs been agreed on.. many...many times.

And sometimes I think the story's better served if Daisuke doesn't turn up to every little thing.

But... I'm being unfair, as usually HG's very good at making sure the important Plot fights don't get Daisuke dropped on them unnecessarily, and I suppose you all raise good points for why that should happen here.

But I still think it should be kept to a minimum lest Daisuke reach the unenviable status of a deus ex machina.

Going to jump in and say "Cannon is cool, we take what we like " but our power levels have moved beyond Cannon a long time ago. We've agreed the structure stays the same. Not the general power level as far as cannon goes.

Well, through their combined power, I'm pretty sure they managed to avoid casualties, so he's clearly weaker than that much force, at any rate. In any case, it was four total captains; Shunsui was one of the two that engaged him before finally bringing him down.
