Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
Welcome to a new era of...
Iron Avatarist
The judges in this Iron Avatarist contest...
(Oblivion/Dr. Bath/The Bookworm)
(Final lineup subject to change - If any of you want to draw instead just let me know!)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Our theme this month is...
Bookworms
Story or poem
Epic and prose, planted well
They bloom as a rose!
Remember: All artwork must be your own. Do not take, alter, or use any of the The Giant's art. Thanks.
Categories
There will be a First through Third place award for each of the following, with trophies by Oblivion:
Best Avatar (any avatar-sized literary character)
Best OOTS Avatar (any avatar sized, Order of the Stick based submission)
Best Literary Scene (anything larger than the above, such as a scene from a book)
Best Library (a place to read!)
Best Rookie Entry (if this is your first contest all your entries automatically fall under this category, along with the main category)
And, as always, the Best Overall award.
I'll also voice my opinion on which entry is the most kick-awesome in the form of a VT's Choice Award, which may be anything that tickles my fancy or was shamelessly tailored to my tastes (I approve of shamelessessness).
Rules
1. Every entry must include a bolded introduction as to what category you are trying to enter in.
2. Every entry must include an itallic introduction as to what your entry is.
For example:
Best Avatar
The "Mad Arab" Abdul Alhazred
3. Only the avatarist who created the avatar may submit it.
However, you may submit old creations as long as they have never been entered into an Iron Avatar Thread before. It does not have to be something made specifically for this thread.
4. All entries must be posted by November 30th at Noon Eastern Standard Time.
Good luck!Last edited by The Vorpal Tribble; 2009-11-08 at 10:40 PM.

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
You sir mislead me. Here I was, expecting an IA on worms.
And then I read the first post and was thoroughly disappointed.

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
Great topic!
Are we allowed to submit more than one entry in each category?

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
Alright, I think I might indulge in this one. Let's fire up Inkscape, line up the comic references, crack out the old pre-made
Oh. Inkscape crashed. Uh, okay, let's try that again.
...huh. I'm gonna need a minute, guys.Spoiler<-I won this from Dr. Bath.Spoiler

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
Oooh. I'm tempted to enter my barrillions of Discworld Avatars... but that would leave the judging staff a bit shorthanded (even if I've been lax recently) and I'm far too lazy to go find them all.

Ok folks, keep it at Bookworms, or possibly more eye-catching 'Bibliophilia'?

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
I know what to do. It will be complicated and challanging to do, but I've got a scene I'm going to make. First comes the avatars though.

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
I like "Bookworms" as a title. Also, is there a possibility I could judge? I know I'm fairly new, but I like judging art. I'm just kind of bad at creating art (especially with Inkscape or computers in general).

Re: Iron Avatarist: Bookworms
Well, it'd be apt, with your name and all...
VT, I would be equally happy to judge or enter this one. If you'd be willing to make Bookworm a judge but have a limit on number of judges, I'm happy to swap out.The Iron Avatarist Hall of Fame!
