The Endless Dungeon - Akon

You awaken in the center of a 10ft by 15ft room with stone walls, ceilings, and floors. A torch is burning on the wall behind you, while the other three walls have closed, metal doors with brackets allowing you to bar them from the inside. Unfortunately, only two metal rods are lying on the floor.

"Master, you wish to test me? Very well then, I claim this place in the name of Vecna.", Akon says as he becomes aware.

With that, he listens at every door, taking 10 for 16; he keeps his Longspear at hands. He also tries to be stealthy but most likely fails horribly while at it

Thanks to the -5 modifier to listen for going through walls, that's actually not too shabby.

At the door to the north, you hear the low sound of voices. Nothing from the other two.

Akon carefully opens the north door.

You peer past the door to a 10ft wide room, 30 ft long, with another wooden door on the far side. In the room is four kobolds(F1, E1, E2, C2). A small fire is flickering on the floor(D2) They apparently are unaware of your presence(ie...nobody can roll a frigging spot or listen to save their lives)

Hm, standard action charge at the F1 Kobold slamming the door open! Akon will use Slam holding Spear in the other hand.

You drop the surprised kobold in a flash.

The two kobolds closest to you draw their spears, 5ft adjust torward you, and stab. The one furthest away has a sling, but hasn't attacked yet.

Akon takes a hit for 3, with the Adamantine removing 2 of the damage. Infuriated that such lowly creatures would dare damage him, he makes a counterattack trying to initiate a Grapple with the Kobold in front of him. This provokes from the Kobold grappled, but provided that misses:

Grapple Check - (1d20+3)[8]
Unarmed Damage - (1d6+3)[6]

Will continue turn after that's resolved.

I need to know if that hits, and more importantly, if the Kobold is down. Or rather, I'll lay down two contingencies so you can continue this the next time you post:
- If the Kobold falls, move action to move to C1.
- If the Grapple-attempt fails, move to I2 readying my Longspear.

I'm also not sure if higher ground bonuses should be applied since Akon is much larger than the Kobolds and as such, well, towering above them.

The touch attack doesn't connect, so the rest isn't important, but when it comes to grappling, you don't get a higher ground bonus, but you will get size modifiers to grappling. This can definitely be pretty significantly in your favor for grappling little things.

The kobolds move up after you, however, the one to the left of the door has partial cover vs you(and vice versa), granting both of you +4 AC vs the other.

At this point, you can take your AoO against one of them, if you wish.

Hm, Akon has Combat Reflexes; does the other one have cover already when approaching? Either way:

Seeing the opening in the Kobold's defenses, Akon seeks to capitalize:

Mmm, looking at the angle, I'd say no. However, only the one kobold actually took a move action, the others only needed to 5ft adjust to get into position, thus, they don't provoke.

Akon tries to slam the elusive reptile to all hells:

and smashes a stone wall instead. Urgh. He adjusts 10' back probably provoking and readies his Longspear preparing for the bloody reptiles (this puts him at K2...).

I've got a Move Action left after I Slam, and I can hold the Spear in another hand while Slamming; I don't see the problem. Hell, I have enough actions to drop the Spear for the Slam (free action), Slam, and pick it up again. The Spear-hit was an AoO (Longspear, 10' reach, the Kob that approached must've provoked).

Ah, sorry; Ready as in grip it with two hands so it can be used. While Slamming, it's in one hand and thus I don't think it can be used so he just grips it with two hands. He's not readying any actions.

Actually, he can't even ready actions right now, since any readying, even readying a move action, is a standard action. I just want him capable of making an AoO

Ah, gotcha. Slam takes down the one nearest you. The slinger fires, then the last spear-kobold 5-ft adjusts into range and stabs.

I...don't think the unconscious spearman is entitled to attacks anymore. And I'm fairly sure, neither is the dead one...well, either of them. Either way, Akon CHARGES at the slinger Kobold ending at E2:

Good call, my kobold count got off. All three of the spearmen dropped.

The slinger drops his sling, and pulls out a spear, stabbing desperately at you. We'll use the last spear roll, which evens things out nicely.
