Doesn't really advance the plot, but I'd say it goes to help show that the Custodes... aren't taking the death of their brother well.

More in-depth explanation: When a MLP RP i'm in went into...haitus, I didn't want my character, a Changeling, to just...dissapear, so I decided I would add him in every other comic as an extra. 649 was his debut, but expect to see him more.

Comic 650 is FINALLY up. IRL hit me like a wrecking ball, hence the lateness.

I clearly recognized it was an important moment, that it was intense, and I think you did nicely, but at the end it turned into "Well, that was unexpected". I guess you can't help it.

And that AtC was extremely fun. BTW (it's kind of related), do you know a page where I could consult stats of different units? I want to compare the in-game numbers between the different (and few) units and heroes I know.

Comic 653 is up. Inkscape became extremely tempermental all of a sudden, the crashes were near-constant with this comic. Fortunately it never resulted in any serious loss of art, though it did make it impossible to upload. I had to patch screenshots together.

It's not unstable so much as it is tempermental. Remember: The Ctrl-S hotkey exists for a reason. Use it often.

Comic 655 is up. Yeah I want to wrap up this chapter but there's still stuff I want to do. Ugh! Mostly...I just want to get all parties moving in the same direction.

Also, on unrelated matters, Rich apparently changed the art style on OotS. I am considering doing the same, though moving closer to the direction of the art of the dragons and the Custodes, using my own art style. I want to know what you think. To give you a sample, here's a side-by-side comparison with Princess Marnia in similar poses. My variation of OotS style on the right, proposed new style on the left.


I'm sure you'll note at least two of the changes relatively quickly. I'll be uploading new pics as I make new comics, I appreciate all the feedback I get. Do note that Madness characters like Xeno won't be affected, and characters that are already not drawn in OotS style (strictly speaking) like Jeroshaw or the Custodes won't be touched either.

edit: I noted that the crown makes the eye-lashes on Marnia extremely hard to notice. I'll work on that.

The image to the left makes me think the head is too large for the body, which doesn't happen for the usual art-style despite the head being roughly the same size. But it might be because I'm used to one, and not to the other. I do like the new detail, and I think at least the lizzard characters would benefit greatly from this new art.
But, definitely, one example is not enough to make a good opinion.

It does look interesting, and I think you should go ahead with it for a while if you want to try it. Later on, you can go back if it doesn't work, but that's irrelevant.

In the interest of gaining more feedback, here's some more. Featuring Sereyentheous-in-Rand's-body and some cannon fodder as well as a third iteration of Marnia, furthest on the left.

Marnia: The latest iteration gives her a slightly shrunken head and thinner body. This definitely looks the best IMO.

SRB: The body is unchanged, predictably, but IMO the updated head is more expressive and versatile. Note the gorget (neck guard) as well, including its absense in the OotS model.

Cannon Fodder: Because when you have a meltagun, everything looks like a tank. Looks good IMO, but the feet and legs seem disporportionately wide and large to me. It works, I think, but I might want to play with porportions a bit. The eyes also seem too visually noisy, i'm curious what you think.
