Vord Homebrew

Well i just finished the Codex Alera Series and i feel like putting together a homebrew for all the types of vord, the only issue is that i suck pretty bad at putting creatures together. So im coming to the playground for help. The vord a hive mind like insectoidish species that can be grown into pretty much any shape and purpose needed. They tend to look take a form like that of the enemies they happen to be facing, but they can also take forms that allow them to circumvent tactics that an enemy uses. It looks like you could just use the insectile or what ever its called template from Savage Species and get off pretty well.
