Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
Well mine do tend to depend on what Seto does. I mean first I'm going to cast Timestop and all, but yeah.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
Seto will cast his Greater dispel, area effect rather than targeted. This should take out the highest caster level spell (Or not as the case may be) but since they are mostly 23, I would say the the highest level spell goes first, would you agree? Regardless, heres 5 dispel checks, in case we need to move down the list.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
First the Avorals fire off their spells.
Spoiler
Four sets of CL 7 empowered magic missile:
(4d4+4)[16] 24
(4d4+4)[13] 19
(4d4+4)[16] 24
(4d4+4)[14] 21
Then Kagrenac casts Time Stop (I'll need to see my rounds before I take those actions)

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
Spoiler
Round 1:
Assay Spell Resistance on that damn dragon
Move: I'll end up in R-19 at the end of my movement for all Time Stop.
Round 2:
Karma Bead
Round 3:
Widened Wall of Stone (CL is now 25, so I get 100 squares of Wall of Stone 2 inches thick or 50 that are 4 inches thick.
I'll do the 4 incher, and make a 25ft high wall stretching from B5 to S5.
25ft high in rows B, E, G,H,I,K, M,
5ft "high" from the top of the cavern in rows C, D, F, J, L, N, O, P, Q, R, and S
This leaves 10ft gaps that large-sized or smaller creatures can easily move through. In addition, it blocks LoS to Torvin, apparently. Whatever it keeps him from being attacked.
EDIT For Reference:
HP of 60, Hardness of 32
Round 4:
Ready Targeted Dispel Magic (regular, not greater) targeting him for when the Time Stop ends.
(1d20+10)[19]
(1d20+10)[19]
(1d20+10)[21]
(1d20+10)[21]
(1d20+10)[11]
(1d20+10)[12]
Remember, even if it doesn't affect him he either has to use his spheres to stop it, or if he has spell turning up it drains from his spell turning! And I'm not at risk from the spell. That would be 7 total spell levels slung at him, 4 Magic Missiles and 3 from Dispel Magic.
Phew. A huge wall is erected and Kagrenac is now in R-19Last edited by Superglucose; 2010-03-11 at 02:45 AM.

NOTE: For future reference, it is not known how many time stop rounds you get when you cast it. You know it's over when it ends.

@Super:
SpoilerAlso, how are you getting hardness 32? Extra thickness adds HP, not hardness.
Source: SRDEach 5-foot square of the wall has 15 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 8.Last edited by PhoenixRivers; 2010-03-11 at 10:57 AM.

Note: If you do not have true seeing, you are also flat footed for this attack (per rules on invisible attackers)
After that, the dragon's turn is done.
EDIT: Anyone who can see the dragon attack is subject to its fear aura, Will DC 33. Any effects you have to protect (such as Mind Blank) will apply.
From here, Torvin is welcome to take his action, though note that there is now a wall between Torvin and the dragon (due to Kagrenac's action).Last edited by PhoenixRivers; 2010-03-14 at 03:19 AM.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
The Theda-angel wavers but does not fall as all of the dragon's attacks dig through her natural defences.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
After Reviewing: Torvin does have LOS to the dragon, though the dragon benefits from cover.
New Map:Spoiler
Please let me know if anything seems out of order. As the Wall of stone is only 4 inches thick, I've put it at a grid intersection, and used alternating colors to show the full wall and the short wall.Last edited by PhoenixRivers; 2010-03-14 at 05:28 PM.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
MY APOLOGIES! I'd misread the amount of damage. Theda is badly hurt, but not down. I'll adjust my previous reaction.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
Wait a moment. The dragon has one more wing attack in its full attack routine (1 bite, 2 claw, 2 wing, 1 tail).
SpoilerWing Attack (At Theda): (1d20+45)[48] (touch attack)
If Hits: (2d8+18)[25]
It Threat: (1d20+45)[50]
If Crit: (2d8+18)[22] additional
Will update Ghrem's location.
EDIT: The 2nd wing attack missed, no need to worry about it.Last edited by PhoenixRivers; 2010-03-14 at 08:35 PM.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
appologise on time, was away for the weekend.
Anyway, Torvin fires off the Mage's Disjunction at D9, by my reckoning that should just get the dragon and the wall allong A and the floor. Then Quickened through rod cast Antimagic Aura
Ranged touch attack (d20+35)[53]
SR penetration (d20+27)[47]
Will negates (DC 29)Give them bread and circusses and the plebs wont rise against you. Give adventurers dungeons and trapped chests and they won't waste time looking to ransack your home and kill your wife.

Re: Against the Dragon: An ECL 20 Mini-Adventure
Dragon Spellcraft (Disjunction): (1d20+27)[35]
EDIT: Cover doesn't require miss chance, it modifies AC.
Regardless, as you are casting the disjunction, the dragon utters a single word ("Escape" in draconic), and disappears.
You may retarget the disjunction for wherever you like (it won't get rid of the wall, as it's an instantaneous duration conjuration effect.)
DM/Observers only:SpoilerContingent Dimension Door triggers, teleporting it outside the lair, next to Map section 1.Last edited by PhoenixRivers; 2010-03-15 at 02:29 PM.
