To be honest, elliott20 needs to consider a new thread for actual submission for the project and have this simply be the chat and discussing thread. Have around 10 blank posts for the project thread after the index post and we can use this for banter.

Heh. The normal Fighter, probably, compared to the ToB classes. I made a Martial Adept revision of the Fighter that would contend that though. It's linked under the variant section.

Neither. More that I saw several posters commenting on the balance and I don't see much talk of that going on in this thread, so I wondered if it was being considered.

it is definitely something we will be discussing at a later stage of the project. Right now though, I think our first priority is really just getting all the materials together into an organized fashion and hopefully (if I can just get off my ass and get it together) produce something we can all at least look at to start help visualizing what the final product will look like.

Tomorrow I'll be back home so I'll start putting together a more concrete outline on how the book will be organized.

I definitely think that things should be balanced, and matching with Tome of Battle itself. ToB is an incredibly tightly balanced book, and the balance point is quite good. We very much should try to emulate that.

I concur that ToB is a no-brainer as far as picking a balance point for the material in this project.

While I agree things should be balanced with each other, I think it will be fairly difficult to balance everything in the compilation. People have different understandings of what is powerful and balanced.

Truth be told, many of the disciplines that are listed as included having been gone over numerous times by many eyes, with lots of tips and suggestions and tweaks having been made.

They're about as balanced as they're going to get. That being said, compare the power of Tiger Claw or Iron Heart against Stone Dragon. Nuff said.

Yeah, unfortunately in most of the published books they can't afford the page space to do that (nor the usual skills either)...

Hey, since we seem to have virtually every Tome of Battle enthusiast present in thread, I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to look over the changes I made to my new Sundered Veil Discipline. The Discipline is based around using Disable Device to disable stuff in the most effective way possible; smashing it wide open. The Discipline uses a lot of different methods to accomplish this, from smashing bones to smashing the brain to smashing, well just about anything. This, however, mean that the Sunder mechanic plays a fair role in the Discipline; and yes I am aware that Sunder is not a popular mechanic metagame wise. However, I don't think that the Sunder option is broken (would't that be the greatest irony ), so I see no problem with making a Discipline around it. Breaking an enemy's weapon is a pretty fair tactical strategy, and I figured SOMEONE would make a Discipline out of it; even if its mainly thugs and thieves .

Looking forward to a good P.E.A.C.H. or two :P.

Also, the counterpoint to my Black Heron discipline is finished, Silver Crane.

A celestial-channeling martial discipline which focuses on battle intuition gained through fast-acting oracular abilities, foresight into the enemy's next move, and the ability to crush possessing fiends in the host's body (as well as other demons and undead, evil things, etc). Some healing is available from it as well, and some fine defenses.
