[Acro] GLoG 48: From the Ashes

[The Librarian]

Lowan nods walking inside.

[Recaiden]

I believe most of the space is taken up with cots and makeshift beds and things, with tables and other things described in the first post. Ashna goes over by a ladder and leans against it.

[The Librarian]

Lowan sort of grimaces at the surroundings, seeing that they not really in the condition Ashna says they are.
Hmm, looks like some cramped quarterss you got here. You sure you don't want me to call that friend of mine? He does build more structures than just weapons and defense systems.

[Recaiden]

We're just waiting to get everything in those cabins set up. Not everyone has even arrived yet.

[happyturtle]

It's a large space, so though there are a line of bunks along the wall, there's still room to move around. Most of the tables have been folded and stacked up, just leaving a couple for work space.

Sunny pronounces the kitchen appliances safe for use, and there is now hot water. The path to the bathhouse still needs to be dug out from the snow, and the bathhouse itself has not yet been inspected.

[The Librarian]

((Okay, so it is Winter in the ACRO place then, sweet))

[Recaiden]

Snow? Okay.
Ashna goes to melt a pathway to the bathhouse. Which is probably full of giant spiders.

And suddenly, the lake that had no name has always been called Phoenix Lake. And there's even a sign along the gravel road that leads to the main house that says "Phoenix Lake Campground".

[Kaelaroth]

Atticus, left unanswered to his question as to what evil actually is, is confused, and quietly wanders the campsite, intrigued, now that it's bustling with activity.

[Piggyebil]

Koyuki looked around the camp, now acknowledging the bunks. She smiled to herself, then went back to digging.

[The Librarian]

Lowan goes to his VS and searches through it for a certain item.

[Rebonack]

When the rays of the setting sun catches the surface of the lake is blazes as if it were a sea of molten glass, sparkling with a breathtaking beauty. What else would you call the lake?

Avatar, the smallish oddly colored fox, is cheerfully bouncing around the campsite introducing himself to anyone he doesn't recognize. It's probably only a matter of time before he hooks up with some of the local ghosts and starts planning pranks.

Someone had better distract him.

[Kaelaroth]

Said fox might notice an halfling with oddly-hued eyes staring at him, somewhat intensely, with the strange gaze of those atavistic hunters of yore.
Hungry. Or perhaps just confused?

[Rebonack]

The fox halts mid-bounce, his attention having been diverted to the rather intense halfling. So distracted is he that he scarcely notices that snowdrift before-

*FWUMF!*

And thus, one fwumf later, a snowdrift has gained a fox-shaped hole.

A few moments later the virtuous and vigorous little vulpine vagrant pops his head out of the drift bearing a little cap of snow.

[Kaelaroth]

The halfling blinks brightly. And, quickly, hops and skips o'er to that snowdrift, smiling as brightly as that earlier blink, reaching into one of the pockets of his waistcoat to pull out a thin, sharp, little blade, spinning it lightly between his fingers.
A thin little pink tongue licks his lips.

I think he is hungry!

[Rebonack]

Avatar gives his head a good shake, flinging bits of snow this way and that. Probably manages to look adorable in the process. Not that adorable animals tend to phase your standard Wild Man hunter type.

Especially not when the hunter in question is short and knife wielding.

The fox's ears fold down as the halfling approaches, doing his best to look cute and pitiable. Puppy dog eyes attack!

[Piggyebil]

Kotuki turned from her work for a moment, noticing the fox. She ran up to it. "Are you okay?!" She exclaimed.

[Kaelaroth]

A puppy dog eyes attack?!
So Atticus was provoked! Cue a quick leap, blade out, aiming to stick the little blade in the creature's neck.

[The Librarian]

Lowan finally pulls out a small case and opens it. Inside the case are 12 slots for holding a vial with a liquid of some kind. 11 vials currently takes up the slots until Lowan pulls one of them and drinks the liquid. Suddenly, a rush or adrenaline and mana flows through bringing him back to full strength. He then closes the case and the VS and starts helping with clearing paths, moving the snow by turning the snow into gas particles and reforming it into snow forming near perfectly straight pathes to each cabin and lodge.

[Rebonack]

*chsshht!* That's the stuff! /terran marine

*ahem*

Anyway, as the halfing dives Avatar yips in surprise, quickly turning tail and plowing deeper into the snowdrift. Atticus will find nothing but a face-full of cold white stuff for his trouble. A few moments later the fox's head pops out at another point in the drift, grinning mischievously at his attacker.

Looks like this is going to be a game of whack-a-fox.

[Kaelaroth]

Atticus dives once more, likely ending up in the cold snow once again!
Cold!

[Piggyebil]

Koyuki watches, interested. She forgot about the fire-pit.

[Rebonack]

The hobbit gains yet another face full of snow-flakes and no dead fox for his trouble. There's probably a pretty good chance that this pattern will continue until Atticus grows bored and leaves. Unless he tries something tricksy and false, as hobbits are oft want to do.

Foxatar pops out of the other side of the drift, scoops up a snowball with his tail (don't ask how) and hurls the fluffy projectile at the back of the halfling's head.

[Kaelaroth]

The halfling looks momentarily confused, and waves a hand a tad, whispering a few sing-song words under his breath, blue light dancing from his catlike pupils for a second or two, before streaming into the earth below to ripple and dance under the snow.

And, then?
Snowballs hurl themselves from the earth at the fox, leaping up from the drifts to try and smack the little critter in the face.

[Rebonack]

Previously the fox had been smirking at the hobbit rather silly-like.

Then he gets FACE!'d with a snowball.

Two little eyes blink from behind a mask of white moments before Avatar shakes the snow off. Only to get hit with another.

"Eeeee!" the fox bolts from the snowdrift, in a dead run toward the lodge and shelter protesting as he goes. "Using magic isn't fair!"

[Kaelaroth]

Ah! Aaah! Aaaah! Witch-fox! Witch-fox! Atticus shrieks in panic, seemingly forgetting that he himself has aspects that could be considered witchy, as with a wave of a small hand, he lazily, or, well.. not particularly daintily, casts sleet across the air between the two entities. Get behind me devil thing! It seems he's more than a tad afraid.
And seemingly knowing of both witches and devils, yet not evil.
Strange times we live in.

[Piggyebil]

Koyuki stood between Avatar and Atticus. "Stop!" She shouted.

[Rebonack]

Avatar doesn't stop until he's hiding under one of the tables in the lodge. Should anyone address him he'll spin a yarn about the horrible halfing that was trying to eat him. Complete with big fangs and scary glowing eyes.

[Kaelaroth]

Atticus, equally affected, wraps snow around himself with speed and unnatural dexterity, and, once cocooned, hides like a charm!

[The Bushranger]

Brendan, shrugging off the deadtime ooze, returns to fixing the moulding and hanging garland around the tops of the walls inside the lodge.
