    Raphael draws his tome of elemental frost, an old thing he bought from a merchant and had rebound. He opens it to a page he has bookmarked, and rushes towards Anaximanda. Don't worry, I'm coming! he shouts, tome in hand.

    As you all leap into action, you catch a glimpse of the captain of this Machdrusian guard directing his men into combat. The city guard is engaged with many of them, but the Machdrusians clearly have the advantage. The number of civilians running around makes it even more dangerous, and evacuating them may be a good idea. And of course...in the middle of all this is Anax...

    (Weirdmap is weird =P

    Player and enemy stats aren't up yet, but heres a possible strategy. I attack the A6 mercenary, Raphael and Karius go for the G8 soldier. Typhon gives me a second move and I either take out the mercenary if hes still up or go for the archer if hes not

    Part of this plan hinges on the K1 Merc not being strong enough to do any real damage before one of us can get up there and take him out. We can run the numbers once they're available.)

    (So Raphael and Karius smash the Soldier in G7? Probably have Karius go second due to more harm possibly befalling him? Raphael will get some kills in anyways, he's the Lord.

    Raymond should probably deal with the nearby Merc, if he can kill with help from Typhon. Spreading EXP is good, and Raphael will get his EXP in anyways by being the only character in the party with Range, yes?

    Pretty sure if we position Typhon in the right position and the enemies attack the guys who can fight back before they attack the villagers, we can get the Merc in the top right corner next turn.)

    "Let's go save that little girl before anything bad happens." Prodding Raphael along with his words, Karius waits until he moves before dashing along to G6 and Attacking the Soldier at G7 with his Iron Sword. The blade seems to appear from nowhere, sliding in and out of both Karius's cloak and the enemy's body with secrecy and speed.

    Should the enemy fall, Karius throws his cloak over the enemy and helps them to the ground as they die, preventing them from causing any alarm. He then looks up to Raphael's little sister and gives her a quick smile, hidden from the view of her brother.

    (No move again after my attacks? Mmmkay... Also, this is incredibly minor, but itsn't it 11 experience for a non-fatal attack against an equal level opponent?

    Raymond is going to move from B6 to D9 and attack the Archer. 86% chance to deal 10 damage by my calculations. On the enemy phase, hes got a 82% chance of dealing 4 back to me assuming he attacks me.

    Now heres where things get a bit tricky... Both the D10 archer and F11 mercenary would be in range to attack Raymond and Anax. Considering shes a civilian, unable to counterattack, and has less defense than I do, I would assume they'd go after her over me given the chance...

    If Karius wants to, he can move to F10 (attack optional). However, this would expose him to attacks from the mercenary and both archers (possibly more, I'm not sure if units can walk on E11 or G11 because the map is kinda... funny)

    Then again... the K2 Mercenary went after the NPC soldier over the civilian who was in range...

    If everyone in range attacks and hits Raymond, he will take... 4 damage from the archer, 3 from the mercenary, 7 if the boss javelins me through over the wall (then again, he didn't on turn 1, so I doubt hes going to move). I've got enough HP to survive that but I'll need to heal myself afterwards if it happens.

    Typhon and Raphael aren't in range to do much this turn. We could either have Tyhpon restore Raphael and have him come down to finish off the archer I weaken... this exposes him to some damage from the mercenary (I'm assuming his final spot would be E9). The downside of doing this is that the mercenary at K2 will be left unchecked. Your call on that one...

    In any case, if only to make sure he gets experience, we should move in a way that lets Typhon get to dance. If no one is going to actually use the restore for their movement, Raymond will stop at D7, let Typhon dance at D6, then move to D9 and attack. If someone IS going to use it in a strategic way, then Raymond will just go straight to D9 and attack.)

    (That works...

    If Karius goes to E10 and attacks the archer, then the archer is no threat regardless of whether we kill him or not... however this exposes Anax to a possible mercenary attack... Even if that does happen, she can survive one hit and probably wont be exposed to any danger after that... probably. Tyhpon can go as far as D7 this way and be safe from harm.

    Alternatively, Karius could go to F10. A bit more dangerous for him (potentially attacked by 3 guys instead of 2), but it would keep the enemies from attacking Anax. If we do this, Typhon can't move any farther than D6 or else the Archer might attack him... although Shade might prevent that... might.

    Either way would be fine...)

    ((Based on their previous "AI" (though its not artificial, since Kasanip is playing them), they will attack armed threats within range before attacking unarmed NPCs within range, its what they did last round. So I think it probably safe to leave her exposed for just this turn, especially if that house nets us a recruitment a turn earlier))

    (Can't Karius just move over to E6 and use a Vulnerary, let Typhon dance him from E5, then run back over and Rescue Anax? I mean, Karius isn't the most useful on offense, and if he rescues from H7 then he won't be attacked, either. We already know Raymond can tank the rest of the hits, and Karius has a higher chance of dying the more enemies there are around. If we need his combat abilities later, he can always move into Dance range, drop Anax somewhere save, and get Danced back into the fray.

    Also, what are the Move stats of the enemies?)

    ((I hadn't even considered that but on further review it looks like a solid plan. The only problem I see arising is that, while Raymond -can- certainly tank the hits, it'll mean some clever positioning/dancing to get him back up to full health, meaning that Karius' next turn will be wasted retreating a smidge and dropping Anax. If you're fine retreating and letting Typhon and Raymond handle those enemies as best as they can for a round or two, then I suppose it works. Regardless, I think Raphael's best move is to go visit the house))

    ((As our group's only remotely tanky character, I suggest we feed you lots of XP for at least a few maps, until we have enough competent tanks to counterbalance our overwhelming squishiness. So yes, we are suggesting we let the chunks of XP dash themselves upon your lance.

    (Why is Typhon moving to that square? Shouldn't he move as far Right as possible so he can assist Raphael with Dance as much as possible? I imagine our ranged guy will need it more than the guy on a horse or the guy with 5 movement.)

    After the scuffle, Karius began to move with a slight limp, but his grace allowed him to hide its effects for the most part. With his usual stealth, he slides to E6, where he withdraws some healing agents he procured from an unsuspecting merchant in the tavern. His teacher had made sure that he knew how to apply a good healing salve before he even taught him the basics. With a few motions, Karius uses the Vulnerary and erases all traces of his past injury, at least for the time being. Later he might require proper treatment, but in the heat of the moment this work would do.

    (If danced...)

    After Typhon rejuvenates Karius with a dance, Karius tosses Typhon a gesture of thanks before he dashes off to H7. Kneeling down to be eye-level with the little girl, Karius says "I do not mean to hurt you. You are in a very dangerous place, M'lady, and it would be quite horrible if you were to suffer for it. If you would come with me, I can escort you to someplace safer." He holds out a hand, Rescuing Anax should she accept.

    (If I did 10 damage to Merc3 on the counterattack, he should have 10HP or less...

    If Karius goes for the archer, Raymond will attack the mercenary from E8. If he doesn't, Raymond will attack the Archer from F8 and should be able to kill the Merc on the counterattack.)

    Still carrying Anax, Karius turns to see Raymond in battle against two enemies at once. "Hmph. A little bit too gallant, that one." He does, however, notice the closeness of those enemies to his own position, and knowing how difficult it would be to dodge with a little girl in tow, rushes to E8 against any possible protests of his charge.

    Once he reaches the woody area, he sets Anax down. "Don't worry yourself, little lady. We'll be safe here." Just as soon as I take care of this fool, that is... Slipping through the edge of the woods, Karius slips from the woods and slashes the Mercenary at E9 across the chest, making sure to keep Anax from view while he attacks. His split attention and extra caution cause him to lose a bit of his edge.

    (Read below if Karius is affected by Dance.)

    Typhon's dance seems to energize Karius. "Hmm. I'll have to be sure to stick by you more often." Lifting Anax from the ground carefully, Karius says "Now I'm going to go put you somewhere much safer, okay?" Whether or not she responds in kind, Karius dashes from the woods to another patch in E6, then places Anax on E5. "Please wait here, milady, so that you will be safe. There are some very bad men outside, and I need to go assist in quelling the uprising. Since my employer wants me to..."

    Seeing the citizen in danger, Raphael rushes to the rescue, tome in hand.

    He moves to I2 and, drawing out the musty old blue tomb, begins reading from its pages, scanning for the keyword he needs. Glacia! he shouts, firing a bolt of icy blue magic at his enemy, his voice laden with deep, magical tones. The bolt strikes the Mercenary at K2, and the the page out of his tomb vanishes, its magic spent. Thirty-nine more such spells fill the back pages of the old book. He readies the next one for the Mercenary's inevitable counterattack.

    (Ok, as it stands, we can't do a thing for the civilians without using the dance... Raphael can't do a thing even with a second move hes too far away...

    I'm not sure if we can walk on E11 and G11 not, the map isn't very clear on that. If we can, Raymond can reach the archer, but if not hes got some terrain difficulty. Theres also the matter that hes at 10HP and doing that would put him in range of 3 enemies (havent run the numbers, but the three of them could probably deal 10 damage together).

    Karius can reach either the soldier or archer if danced.

    Suggested moves...

    Raphael moves south 4 spaces. Hes in no danger this turn so he doesn't NEED to heal, but if he wants to be the one to go against the J12 soldier, he probably ought to as a precaution... Honestly though, chances are you're too far way for it to make a difference...

    Raymond moves south 1 space, uses a vulnerary.

    Typhon movs to Raymond's old space and dances him back up.

    Raymond goes for the archer, takes a maximum of 3 hits and 18 damage if all of them hit, but will survive.

    Karius to E9, possibly provoking the soldier (if he can walk through E11) and keeping him safe from the archer... E10 works if Karius can survive a hit from the leftmost soldier AND the Archer... not running the numbers.

    This would probably leave all 3 non-boss enemies at low HP to be finished off next round... hopefully...

    Alternatively, we could have Karius leade the charge and go for the archer, but with his lower HP and Def, he might not hold out as well...)
