Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
In more tangential and totally unrelated, topic shifting, news...
PuddingTroll is auditioning to be a baby model tomorrow morning. I'm not entirely sure what this involves other than him being cute and not being shy around a photographer.
Has anyone else ever done this that can fill me in on some of the inner workings? Like, what is a normal percentage for the agent's cut? How often can we expect to have to take him for auditions (aside from the one with the agency later this morning)? Does it pay well enough to be worth the drive from Baltimore to NYC for the audition? How will I help him cope with the inevitable fame?Want to meet some of the most awesome people on the internet? Gorram Astrophysics. Why did they have do the vast majority of lectures in the dark at nine on a monday morning so I fell asleep? It's a conspiracy and I blame Phase.

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
PudingTroll is definitely cute enough to be in a serious chance of getting the modelling job.
@Bath: You're avvie . . . *shudders* Damnable doll.
I agree with the conspiracy theory though; a lot of my lectures are early, yet my curtains are acting like blackout curtains when they didn't last term. I missed my first lecture today.

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
The BEST doll. It's like a gurning doll AND a clown!
Could be, could just be that it is perhaps slightly darker now than last semester? What with the dreary grey sky of deepest, darkestperuJanuary? Just saying.
Maybe get an alarm clock? I hear they work wonders.
ARGHARGH WHY IS MY EXAM A PLACE I'VE NEVER BEEN THAT IS THE FURTHEST AWAY A PLACE ON CAMPUS COULD POSSIBLY BE. SHOUTING. ARGH.
p.s. Babies are funny-lookin'. A hyuk hyuk. The laughing babies in a recent advert genuinely terrify a friend of mine. I don't think the pay for baby modelling is all that great if you even get the job, there's high competition for not so much demand (since everyone obviously thinks their baby is the cutest). Never work with children or animals and all that.

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
Well, it's not like we're looking to make millions or are expecting him to be the next Gerber Baby or anything. Just wondering if there'd be any left over after the travel and the agent cut if he did make the cut, ya know?

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
Maybe but I seriously doubt it would be little more that 500 dollars, probably less (maybe more). There's always more almost as cute babies that will do it for less. Damn those money-grubbing babies! Coming over here and taking our jobs! We should deport them we should.
But did you do this for your previous baby? Or are you dissin' dat first baby down town.Last edited by Dr. Bath; 2010-01-22 at 07:05 AM.

I too have the day off! Not because I'm sick, I just woke up at 1PM because I couldn't be bothered with lectures today.

Unfortunately I have to hand my assignment on group theory in on Monday. Chock full of abelian groups and isomorphisms.
Did you know, the group of positive real numbers with the multiplication operator is isomorphic to the real numbers with the addition operator? Well it is.

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
So tempting, but I'm supposed to be interviewing a director of a multinational company then, so I suppose I should actually turn up. He's quite an important man. Not that anyone ever checks where I am anyway. I could be doing my research from a mediterranean island for all my supervisor cares.
I'm not though. However much I dream about that possibility.

I'm not skipping my first lecture of semester 2 in my final year for some stupid arbitrary stupid day.
At least not deliberately. At current rate I might sleep through it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've just had breakfast, and it's now time I left the house for a choir rehearsal."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
@BAth: I shall shun you like the plague; freaky doll-demon.
Just back from a class. I have decided to redub it the Friday Argument. Because all we did was argue and bicker over poems.
And I completely (if you pardon my leetspeak a moment) pwned the professor running it.
Both he and I started to say something and then he stopped and said, "Curly, I think you're going to say what I say, so why don't you say it first."
" . . .
I don't know what you're going to say, I can't read minds."
Cue laughter and him blushing.

And here I was labouring away, spending much of my time playing minesweeper and sleeping in!

Minesweeper without marking the mines is as close as it gets to difficult nowadays. Need a new puzzle game that I can think about but not get so embroiled in that I can't put it down (that's Mastermind out).

Re: Jibar's Random Banter #137: Return of the Cat-Muffin
I used to play a minesweeper a ton a few years ago, but I've fallen out of practice. It was a really useful thing to do when you're having an msn conversation, and the other person is slow to reply.
My times are 3/36/129.
I got 2 seconds on beginner once, but due to some stuff happening, it didn't save.
These days, the best I can do is 8/45-50/150-175
Edit: Oh, the reason I came to RB was to announce that I completed a fort consisting of a table, a dest and 37 chairs. It was pretty intense. I didn't take any pictures, but other people did. I'll see if I can get them and upload them later.Last edited by Zocelot; 2010-01-22 at 12:40 PM.
Step 1: Get workers to make goods for you.
Step 2: Sell the goods for a higher amount than what you pay the workers.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!
