Trog's Tavern CCV

[The Bushranger]

*Upon entering the tavern you find it to be rustic, dim, cramped, and smelling of spilled beer. Moving through the crowd, half of which seem to be deadtiming, you spot a fireplace with a banjowood carving on the mantle, you also make out through the haze the curving bar and private booths hidden behind ferns. A side door leading to a patio outside reveals a hungry looking dumpster mimic sneaking towards an unsuspecting customer.

Fenric sneaks back in for another drink, and to wave at Zee and the technopaladin whom he so rudely assumed had gone off to bed already.

"Fenric!" comes the exceedingly cheerful greeting from Zee who is without a doubt pleased to see old friends. First Gent then Jacob and now that silly old fox! "Where have you been all this time?"

"Good evening," said technopaladin says with a smile. "I'm Shawna von Letters, and yourself?"

Phoebe sneaks out of James arm around her shoulder and looks curiously at Fenric from a distance, trying to be discreet, in much the same way a 5 year old acts when he wants to watch strangers without them noticing, which is to say not very discreet.

"And he's also been gone way too long!" Zee adds as recently prepared drinks are handed off to be ordered and serve as props.

But at the mention of the temple...

"Wait... Does that mean Inari's is opening back up?"

Fenric chuckles

Still as exuberant as ever, Zee. Yes, I have been gone some time. And yes, I do mean to go and see that the temple that I founded is put back to rights.

He sighs

As to where I have been, I will keep that tale for another time, for it is late and past the hour of unpleasant re-tellings.

"It's an honour to meet you." Shawna, whose player has yet to decide what she actually is, exactly, returns the bow. "Could you explain more about this temple?"

Her player knows, of course, but she doesn't.

"Oh..." Zee wilts ever so slightly as the mention of the story being a bit... unpleasant. She likes stories. Stories are great! But unpleasant stories upon meeting a good friend again for the first time in ages?

Yeah, that can wait.

"And of course I'm as cheerful as ever! It's one of my defining characteristics!" she giggles. "What would I be without it?"

Though...

Just as obvious as her peppy personality is the fact that her odd 'more real than real' quality is utterly gone. She looks like a rather normal human woman. If more spunky than most.

Sinister Penguin, with some difficulty, climbs up onto one of the stools in the bar. He orders a drink, a Warlock Wine to be exact, and sips it idly.

James looks around the bar, and offers a nervous little wave at Sinister.

For reference: James is a fairly short man, dressed in a red robe, with red hair.

The man in the pith helmet is here. He looks like hes cleaned himself up, finally.

Siniguin eyes James suspiciously, but nonetheless walks along the stools towards the man in the robe.

"And who might you be, eh?" he says upon reaching James.

James. He says. You? James says, looking at the penguin. A lot of talking animals around.

[SinisterPenguin]

"Me? Why, I am known as..." Siniguin says, pausing for dramatic effect. "...Sinister Penguin. Siniguin for short. SP for shorter."

[billtodamax]

James is notably unimpressed by the dramatic pause.
K. He says. He orders a shot of vodka. SP may note that he pays for it with a solid gold coin.

[SinisterPenguin]

SP does note this. His glowing red eyes grow noticeably brighter. And wider.

"That...is a very nice coin. Yeees...very nice indeed..." he says, scooting close to James. "Where did you find such a valuable thing?"

James thinks for a while.
Mountain. Says James, giving the answer that's almost certainly the truth. He shot of vodka arrives. He looks at it, before it bursts into flames.

[SinisterPenguin]

Sinister jumps a little as the vodka bursts into flames, temporarily forgetting about the coin.

"Impressive..." he says. "You some sort of fire mage?"

Pyromancer, yes. The best. He says. He's not actually boasting, he's simply stating the facts as he sees them.

[SinisterPenguin]

"The best, you say? How...interesting." It's clear he doesn't believe James.

"I, too, am a mage. But I prefer to be a bit more...versatile."

Siniguin lifts his flipper up. At its tip a small sphere of electricity, a flame, and a bit of red light spring up next to each other.

James shrugs. Never needed anything other than fire. He says, as he watches his vodka finish burning. He orders another.

[SinisterPenguin]

"Yes. I imagine you haven't," eyeing the burnt vodka quizzically.

((Deadtime, I guess.))

Now there's another one to look at! As James starts burning his next one.

Suddenly!

Zee comes bouncing down from the second floor! Fairly normal looking human in an earthtone outfit, a Trog's Tavern apron draped over the top of it. Or... at least she would look like a normal human if not for the golden slit eyes and the sapphire scaled reptilian tail.

But... yeah.

Human aside from that.

"Good evening everyone! So who had a nice day today!" she sounds cheerful. Peppy. Enthusiastic about life. A sense of unbridled joy seems to radiate from here, invigorating and infectious to all around the bouncy woman.

Daniel shifts irritably in his chair.

Seems I will have to change plans.

He takes another look around the tavern as he considers what to do next.
