Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
Posted a FFF:R comic without my character in there, just to keep team evil moving. Hopefully, that's okay.
(Also inserted Rand randomly. It was supposed to be a plot goblin, but I was too lazy to make a goblin template)

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
I do not recall ship brokeness.
But that may be ignorance on my part...

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
If I read the archives correctly, the ship transformed into Vendettamech, knocked kP around a bit with its laser, and them got promptly stabbed by [Falira?] in this comic.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
kPenguin's comic afterwords (http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...222/fffr31.gif) suggested that the ship was broken adequately to require repairs, so my convenient interpretations due to laziness(tm) says that the ship was damaged severely by virtue of being tripped by Rae and subsequently falling on Unobtainium.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
Eh, I guess I'll just leave it as "windshield damage/falling damage automatically causes CPU malfunction" due to laziness.
If it's that much of a continuity breaker, I can always take the comic down and let someone with a better grasp of the comic take over moving Team Evil around.Last edited by Felyndiira; 2010-02-15 at 02:54 AM.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
Emphasis on beliefs.
I believe everything exist but that it doesn't have any importance, not even my own mind, it's just a meaningless part of a chain of random reactions without purpose. Believing my mind to be the only thing existing would make it significantly more important and thus an improvement.
This belief would make me depressed if I didn't also believe that my existence is too short to waste time on thatTreasured Quotes

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
If you read my Twitter you probably already know this but when I'm low on caffeine my mind wanders to the concept and basis of reality.
What it basically boils down to is that, there is neither god nor the souls, because those are the brain firing wierdly through some parts of the brain (We actually have a portion of the hind brain that creates euphoria and a feeling of "oneness" with the universe...), but meanwhile our brains are full of neurons firing electrical signals because of chemical interactions within them which are the consequences of molecular and atomic interactions beneath them, which are impacted predominantly by gravity and magnetism, all of which is similarly initiated by our own internal and external sensory perceptions of the matter around us.
Meanwhile on a grander scale, the universe is full of matter floating free as can be in an atomic state and interacting, and being pulled about and orchestrated by the same gravity and magnetism, forming stars, planets, galaxies, and all the glorious beauty we see in the night sky.
So, the entire universe is one grand simplistic engine producing amazing and fascinating complex entities. Our brains are fairly miniscule in the whole picture, but knowing all this makes it seem like, we may be pointless to have around but it's worth fighting to stick around and watch, 'cos the universe is a beautiful place.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
An interesting implication of that is that free will does not exist. Everything that we say and do is an already predetermined from the location and velocities of atomic particles in space, and what we think we're choosing to do is, in reality, something that the metaphysical universe has already preplanned. Of course, we're prevented from predicting free will by Heisenburg, but nonetheless you do not have control over your life.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
PLEASE don't start a science/religion debate... those suck and always end the exact same way: someone rage quits and someone else thinks they've won when all they've done is tick somebody off.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXXI - The Gift of Fish
Back to some semblance of topic though I think I'll go with bringing back a character we haven't seen since the Vendetta sank, gonna be a little while because I've got two comics to finish before Friday this week and then my weekend is about 180 miles away from my laptop and harddrive.
I might complete the 3FR intro I started with Lying but I don't think Lying himself will be involved in 3FR, I'd much rather have Levistus' projection in all his seeming madness walking around trying to make sense of things. I don't think he'll be overpowered for the plot because as a projection he's incorporeal and can't affect anything but also he can't be affected either, though he can be temporarily dispelled like a kind of ghost.
