I don't actually play the game, but from reading too many threads on rpg.net, my understanding is that the resistance perfect makes you immune to damage (which is cool) and if the character is built with good non-perfect dodge charms & appropriate artifacts/hearthstones/whatever does so at a relatively mote efficient rate (which is very cool) but don't protect you from things which kill you without needing to do damage (which is totally uncool). Hence the need for Dodge Charms.
However superb fighters they may be, they've no biological history or traditions to draw from. Thus "Look-It's a Monkey" works every time.

    I always liked those buttons.

Ten is First; he's the eldest of the group.
Misho is Back, which—given his strong association with the past—seems fitting.
Marena is Forward, but you knew that already.
Secret is Latest... which could be because she's youngest, or because Abyssals carry the future...

    ... ominous.

Anyway. Nice symbolism there, more visually interesting than plain buttons but not too distracting.

It's not just that Marena's nekkid.

It's the expressions on Secret and Misho.

I had noticed the expressions before, but I only just realised they were because Marena was sans clothes.

I have to pick up some 2nd edition exalted other than the pdf of the base rulebook!

Would such a character work in exalted?
I don't see why not, in the campaign I'm finetuning I see the abyssals as being the first kind of exalted that was created, the original solars were those who succeeded in freeing themselves and fighting back at the original foes the first of the former abyssal turned solar whom was named quite simply the "Firstborn" has remained alive because the great curse just didn't work on him.

Still it seems I have a lot of reading to catch up on so hope to catch up with more on this thread as I have to head out now and play some runequest!

Take care and all the best!

Why would he still be alive if the Great Curse hadn't worked on him? Exalts don't die of old age because of the Curse.

Also, having Abyssals as the first kind to be created is... weird. You'd have to rework the entire backstory.

But there'd be less reason for him to be killed, and Abyssals don't die of old age. They're immortal until something kills them.

Then, unless they get that one Charm that lets them come back as a ghost, they get flushed straight down the big black drain.

Or did they change that in 2E?

They get a Willpower roll against their own Essence to come back as a ghost instead of hitting Oblivion.

As Kyeudo said, they get a willpower roll to come back as a ghost.

There's also one charm which allows them to perform Solar mirrors of their charms for Resonance. Incidentally, an Abyssal who knows this charm goes to Lethe when he dies.

Of course, since the fate of a hun is much, much less important than the fate of an Exaltation, that is a very incidental benefit.

EDIT: Unless the said hun becomes a ghost and joins with a dead Third Circle soul of a Neverborn. Then you get a Deathlord.

Sound much more like an Infernal Nemesis to me. Here is a list of actions that give them bonuses :
    Infernal Genius Declaration : Monologuing
    Fiendish Deathtrap Compulsion : Deathtrap
Insane Death-Dealing Provocation : warning note
Kindly Lunatic Blessing : making people mad
    Best Enemy Recognition : arch-enemy
Exquisite Bride Obsession : "and now I will marry the female protagonist in an long an complicated ceremony !"

...I just had the following image at this.

Marena, bound (either with Manacles of Night, or another artifact added that has the same effect), gagged, in a wedding dress, and being marched to a wedding alongside an Infernal version of Misho.

Is Marena even Misho's Lunar Bond, though? I thought that it was still inconclusive.
He fears his fate too much, and his reward is small, who will not put it to the touch, to win or lose it all.

    I'm pretty sure she is.

Of course, I could be utterly wrong, but it just seems to... fit... better than anything else.

Of course, the 'Infernal version of Misho' bit isn't the biggest part of it- swap to another Infernal if you like.

...basically, my reaction to my idea was 'slightly disturbing, but at the same time, want fanart'.
