Gray characters are those who don't fit the manichean view people call "black and white." Gray characters are all those in between; from the lightest gray to the darkest, though the term "gray" appears to be used more for characters who're more or less in the middle rather than those close to the extremes.

I so don't like those mercenaries, they're evil by all standards:
1. They fight for personal gain (1 Evil)
2. They kill a non-evil creature based on it offering them help in their quest, because of doubtful paranoia (3 Evil)
3. They kill a creature for it's skin-colour (4.5 Evil)
4. They think themselves to be good and better than the dragons and show no remorse (10 Evil )
