Re: Bibliography
Second page up.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, but even though I don't really know tabletop RPGs it's cool seeing you guys messing around with the idea of turning Bibliography stuff into that kind of thing. Wonder how a campaign would turn out.

Re: Bibliography
What better reason to get deeper into it than to test out the adaptation of your media?
Wonder how a campaign would turn out. It's been a bit, GitP. If you're reading this, you're either digging through old stuff, or I've posted for the first time in forever.
If you want to stay in touch, reach out to me on twitter (same username).
The best answer is always to ask your DM.
Unless you're the DM, in which case you should talk to your players.

Re: Bibliography
Yeah, I've gotten into contact with Gaijinmanga. Apparently they're actually willing to pay me based on pageviews, and the new updating system seems pretty quick. I'm actually talking with somebody who's a little more higher up than my previous contact, so that helps too.
Of course, since I'll be paid based on pageviews, they want me to upload the latest pages onto Gaijinmanga. I wouldn't mind doing this, but it seems that I can't upload a page everyday. I'm going to see whether or not they're willing to let me update by myself before I put all the new updates on Gaijinmanga.
Money is nice, of course, but I want have people read my stuff as soon as possible.
And yeah, I wish I could explain everything about the Bibliography world right now, but that would be way too much exposition in one sitting. I guess it'll just have to be revealed slowly.
Well, if you guys ever get a Bibliography campaign up, tell me about it. I'd love to see how you guys interpret it.
Oh, new page up.Last edited by Elagune; 2010-06-05 at 09:47 PM.

Re: Bibliography
@Tavar: It's the start of a chapter, who's previous resulted in Eve pretty much providing everything about descent at once. Further it's Eve's father being shown as beginning descent. Every dramatic indication is that Eve is dreaming about her father's descent (and possibly him as an Abyssal) having brought up so much about it herself.

Re: Bibliography
Why does it have to be a dream? Looks more like simple background story/flashback to me. I see no dramatic indication of a dream. Now, if the chapter had started with a shot of a sleeping Eve, then you might have a point. Not abstract enough to be a dream, either. Who dreams exposition and dialogue?

Re: Bibliography
But if it's not a (day)dream it has no reason to be shown to us, there's no narration or anything to indicate a narrative reason for us seeing this, if it's a dream (or more accurately nightmare) then we're seeing things from Eve's point of view.
If you consider that Eve was just hours before, talking about descent and abyssals while making it clear to those of us outside the story that she has a personal reason to do so. Her relieving her Father's descent in a dream makes sense.
As for abstractness, consider my thesis: Eve is dreaming this. Look at where she is in relation to the dialog: She's not present for some of it, and the perspective of a dreamer would account for the angles and shifts. Also some people don't have very abstract dreams, especially for very traumatic memories like this one.
And as for your last question: I do. My dreams tend to be heavy on the exposition side (I've had one that opened with a Starwars esque rolling paragraph explaining situation I was in, others have opened with me narrating over the opening scene). Further for Eve this isn't exposition, this is the time in her life when her father was starting to go crazy and and had to go away forever or else he'll kill mommy and fluffy and the neighbors and her.

Re: Bibliography
I see no particular reason why it would have to be anything else than a flashback sequence.
Anyway, looks like the dog collars are not just a fashion statement for Eve. Everyone in her family got one. That's probably how you can identify them. It's more subtle than the floating eyes, but it's there.
Maybe these collars are needed to keep The Beast Within in check. Werewolves are seldom described as friendly cuddly puppies in fiction.Hark! An avatar drawn by Kate Beaton!

Re: Bibliography
Hey Elagune, you might want to delete the links to chapters 5 and 6 now that they've posted them onto the site now. Just to save space on the first post. (Also, it forces us to go to their site to reread them and that makes more views for them and more money for you.)
