You hum the tune to 2001: A Space Oddity, a satire of a really old movie that a lot of people took way too seriously, to pass the time. This reminds you of that part where all the firemonkeys were staring in awe at a big black pillar. The reveal when it turned out to be the protagonist that the firemonkeys had been throwing poo at for the past few hours is the single greatest achievement in comedy.

Hm, still no ACTION. Maybe it's because these things don't have a head? Maybe you should have said, "A knife in the...gooey...glowing...black...mass...thing?" What would you even call that? Or maybe you should have said, "A bullet in the head is worth two in the back." I mean, you don't put knifes into people's heads, you put them into the back, so wouldn't it be a knife in the back is worth two in the head? Or maybe you should have thrown the knife at it, and said, "A knife in the back is worth two in the hand." But, you don't have two knives.
