If there's someone who really needs to never darken the server access port again and no admins around to get rid of them, follow these steps:

1. Open up your console.

2. Type 'status'.

3. Record the STEAM_x:x:xxxxxx ID next to the player's name.

4. Find an admin - either at the time or later - and let them know the Steam ID. With that we can ban the offender whether they're online or not.

(The console command is "rcon banid 0 STEAM_x:x:xxxxxx". I don't know if all admins can use that, or just people who know the rcon password, but there are enough of both that it shouldn't be problematic to find someone.)

I'm not all that concerned about admin abuse because, frankly, I know who you all are. Anyone using their powers for griefing can be quickly found out, and perpetrators will receive a frowny-face PM or something similar.

I'd support this. Bothering an admin is irritating, and half the time the knowledge that the blowhard with the mic isn't simply enforcing his opinions can fix things. And scaring people into following the rules works too. Maybe it could just be a hidden console command? Setting up a new group and dumping every server regular into it seems like a ridiculous amount of work for so little advantage.

Protip! When converting demos to stills format, be triple sure to reduce your game settings to something less than 1600x900 on high. Otherwise you wind up with 330 GB (yes, that's gigabytes) worth of screen shots. There's is approximately 82,000 stills. At 720p. Thank the maker I have a 1TB HDD that's was mostly empty.

Reminder about Saturday! If we can get one more sober player and 4 more drunks, we can have a third game of L4D2 going. There's going to be a post tomorrow with final teams, alts and final details. Emlyn or Djinn, I need to talk to you guys about server details and setting up the lobby.
