Re: The Azure Zephyr
Illanee
Illanee is familiar with both time-travel and outerspace, albeit secondhand from her husband who had apparently experienced both. A look at her serious visage suggests that she certainly believes and understands these details.
Her eyes narrow at the suggestion that the White Drow will return, and she continues to set herself up as a vigilant protector of her young friends. She continues to bunk with them, in mouse form, despite her true nature having been revealed.

Calli looks surprised when told not to trust the "researchers and professors". I... I didn't realize they were real. I thought it was some sort of magic book. She looks down, her lower lip quivering. I just want to know how to use it better.

Re: The Azure Zephyr
Bruug will frown as he listens to Daen's description of Sariel. "Who is Sariel's father? I'm still hopeful we can resolve this peacefully if we can just speak with her." He glances around at the watching crew. "I think Olrik is right. Its been a long night."
Bruug will then attempt to speak to Merie alone. "Earlier, you said something about shields. Will they keep Sariel out?"A mind without purpose will walk in dark places. - Gideon Ravenor

Re: The Azure Zephyr
In response to the questions about Jinifir Olrik just shrugs and turns away, "Oh no reason..." he then departs to rest for the night

The next day, Bruug will look for Olrik after being relieved of duty. Upon finding the tattooed man, the ogre offers the man a smile. "We were interrupted yesterday. Thought you might like to continue our conversation. You never did answer my question."

Olrik smiles back and rests his chin upon the end of his staff.
"So we were. Remind me then. What was your question? Between morally questionable executions, drow assassins and time travelling fey it is easy to forgot a mans place in a conversation with his fellow man."

Re: The Azure Zephyr
After preparations are complete Aust will perform a burial at Sea for the priestess, unless there is some objection to it - but it's either that or cremation in the furnace since there's no place to bury her.
After this is done, Aust will probably go to the library to familiarize himself with the system. With help of the wizard system he will ID the magic items of the priestess and the Sea ranger and write small notes of what they are for reference - so as not to take up the time of the crew mages and available spells when an enemy could be lurking anywhere. Once appropriately categorized he'll probably inquire to the captain whether she wishes such items distributed amongst the crew, since without a will from the priestess it is only logical that the commanding officer would make such a decision on whether to simply lock away these items for resale or barter, or let the crew make use of them.

Arha
Arha will spend her days in the library, on deck and in her rooms. Whenever Joe is on deck she'll covertly watch him, curious as to exactly who he is and why he's here, other than to protect Daen.
Personally, she doesn't trust either of them, time travel is just an excuse to her.
She'll attend Kerri's burial at sea. She knew her and felt they had become friends and she feels her loss. She'll stand there for a time, just watching the ocean and thinking.Last edited by wxdruid; 2010-06-30 at 09:55 AM.

Re: The Azure Zephyr
"Psion. That is the correct term. Specifically though I am, as I mentioned earlier, a Kineticist. In short I specialise in hurting people and blowing things up," Olrik puts on a comical smile to accompany this statement but he is also quite serious. "Judging from what I saw your friend Shrike shares my speciality. I assume you are familiar with the different schools of magic? Well the best comparison of my primary 'school' or discipline as we Psions call them, is to think of me as an Evoker. Which reminds me though, it is generally best if you do not attempt to scry on me, I generally have harmful defences set up against such things. But what about you Bruug? Do you think you are dead?" This final comment has no element of humour about it. Olrik is completely serious in his statement.

Re: The Azure Zephyr
"Ah! my apologies. I did not mean present you. I mean the theoretical other you. Assuming that is the future you is a truth as opposed to a lie. I mean no offence to your young friend but there remains the possibility that he is not who he says he is. After all if their changeling is warded against magical discernment he might well be to. I am inclined to believe him for now though. But I diverge from the initial point don't I. Do you think future you is alive? We will all die some day but do you think that you were alive when Daen began his journey backwards?"

Bruug considers this for a moment before nodding. "I do. The two seem very afraid of what future-me will do if they mess up. Of course, I'm sure future me will die at some point. We all do."

Olrik nods. "Fair enough. The future is in the future though so for today at least we need not concern ourselves with it and its troubles. Do you have a current interest in time magic, if you don't mind me asking that is."

Olrik Under Arrest?
{OOC- Yes, it is clearly Aust who Olmeric seeks out, as someone he trusts. He too is very concerned about these future-dudes.}
Main Deck:
Daen answers Bruug's question on the 'father': "Don't rightly know. The elves don't say, and well... you told me not worry about it. According to you it was some elf-donor who was dead I think in our Time."
Merie on 'shields': "I'm not rightly sure she's off this boat. But.... yeah they could keep her off. Sort of a dimensional-barrier around the ship. It does sap energy. Luckily we've got a solar-rechargeable engine. These special sails are great solar panels. At day we can run stuff all day.... so a lot of times you save power for special times. Like night. In the night the drow was on the ship. She had disabled dimensional barrier so she could escape. Before the whole murder occurred."
Aust will get the list soon for the minor magic items. Merie's feeling on it is to redistribute the wealth to the crew, though this has many union-crewmen grumbling. There is something in the bylaws about sending people's family's or beneficiaries their belongings.
As Arha observes Jo seems to be quite jovial, and even as his other form as the Lemurian sailor, he was always a hard worker. Daen and Jo are one of the hardest working crew on the ship. Before they had been avoiding Liam and Shrike, but that all changes now on the Zephyr.
When Olrik Tries to get away with his comment....
Merie will interrupt his conversation with Bruug to discuss the certain noble-lady.
Olrik is not getting away, and if he avoids Merie, she threatens Olrik with a full arrest on the ship. "Tell me now. What do you know of Jinifir Kali? I will have you killed if you lie again." She seems really pissed now. "You won't be getting away with your mischief on my ship."
Kerri's Burial:
A somber burial will occur at about noon the following day of Kerri's murder.

Re: The Azure Zephyr
@Bruug
Olrik sighs and shakes his head "As far as I am aware such a thing is not possible. To slow the timestream or travel forwards through it is doable but travelling backwards... the concept seems flawed. Imagine the actions of Daen inadvertantly caused the deaths of yourself, Shrike and Liam tomorrow morning and your bodies were disposed of in a manner preventing resurrection. Daen would have not been born and would be unable to travel back in time even if he had. He would not exist and so you would have survived, he would be born, he would travel back in time, and you would all die. A vicous circle indeed. That said if time travel is yet to be invented who knows what sort of manner it could work. Perhaps travelling backwards in time causes the universe you know to cease to exist whilst you yourself persist in a newly created universe. Who knows. What I find strange though is that if 'future Bruug' were so keen for his endeavours to be a success why did he not simply travel back in time himself?"
@The previous night
Olrik is almost as equally angry as Merie. "Captain whilst I respect your authority on board this ship your tone of voice is not altogether appreciated. I am nothing if not loyal to the guild and to the search for captain Alli. As it stands though you seem intent upon killing any who you take a disliking too without trial or fair interrogation. The late Roger Thobricks 'execution' killed of a potentially valuable asset and for all we know be the reason for the attack by the white drow tonight. My interest in Jinifir is purely personal. I have a minor reason to suspect she may be held in the same place as Alli simply because it seems that Rockfire's employers seem to have an interest in kidnapping and collecting various high ranking nobles and heirs to throne. I have no intention on telling you how to perform your job but daily executions and threats seems a poor incentive for the crew, especially a crew who we everyone knows so little about. Did you know that you had a time traveller and another ship shifter on board before we left port?"

Re: The Azure Zephyr
Shrike
For her part, the fiery redhead does her best to steer clear of the ongoing disucssions and controversies. Instead, she seems to be staying closer to Liam for the moment, and also, of course, spending as much time as she can with her 'future' son, although she makes a point of not asking too much about what he knows of said future...
The next day, though, she does her best to try and corner Jo away from Daen.
"Pardon me, but I have to ask...what is the nature of your...relationship, with my son?"

Re: The Azure Zephyr
Bruug prepares to respond to Olrik when Merie approaches and demands answers from the man. Frowning slightly, he will back away. "Captain. I'm sure we'll talk again Olrik. Good-day." Bowing his head politely to the captain, the ogre will leave the two to their discussion.

Events on the Zephyr
Main Deck:
Olrik won't make the next day if he takes this tone with the Captain, and Olmeric will show that he backs her all the way. There is no way Olrik can get out of this one. Merie is furious, but relaxes when she hears Olrik's explanation. She feels stupid, and then stumbles a bit on the topic of 'stowaways'. "Actually I did not. These two were hired by the Hadozee. They have proven themselves in all reports I've read. Believe me, the living crew from the last ship is a short list on this spelljammer, so I know these men's activities well."
When Olrik hits upon 'collecting nobles', she seems to light up, "It could be... the King of Kandor. His Seraglio is one of the greatest in the world. Access can be granted for a king-sized fee. And it IS met from time-to-time... Perhaps he is 'upping' his merchandise."
Shrike with Jo:
Jo is friendly with Shrike, "I am his protector. Queen Titania told me to make sure he steered clear of trouble. The 'other' Bruug is always getting crazy ideas into Daen's head. Why do you think we ended up back here." The big Antarian woman does not seem happy about her predicament.Last edited by BlueWizard; 2010-07-01 at 06:27 AM.

Re: The Azure Zephyr
"Well it seemed a plausible assumption. Think about it, so many important nobles have been disappearing. Alli, Jinifir, the origional mission of the Black Tornado seemed to be to rescue a Prince from the Shahaugin as I recall. The Admiral Rockfire and his companions seemed to be maintaining this mission and I was never sure wether that was solely to keep up the disguise or wether it was because they also had an interest in the prince that the ship was seeking to rescue."
Olrik again tries to leave but then stops and turns to face Merie again.
"Captain. If my words here have done anything to earn your trust then I have a last piece of advice for you. Don't trsut me. Nor anyone for that matter. Up till today I thought that powerful magics and manifestations could cut through even the strongest of illusions and could ward against the strongest teleportations. It seems however that whoever it is we are fighting against they have abilities that far exceed our own defences. Trust in your friends, confide in them yes but remember that anybody might be somebody other than who they appear to be. If somebody seems to be acting suspicously, or seems different to how you remember them being then do not ignore it. Allie's crew went a long time with a fake of her at the helm because nobody thought to question their eyes. As such do not rely solely on whatever wards this ship has built into it, keep an open eye on everyone and everything." There is no hostility to Olrik's voice here, only a sense of pleading and empathy. He believes very strongly in what he is saying and means it for the captains best interests.

He looks at the changeling, "You say nothing like that, but unless I miss my guess... you'd like there to be?"

Shrike, feeling a bit reassured, smiles at Jo, and starts to say something - only to be surprised by Liam, whose words start making her blush, herself, and she can't help but giggle softly as she slides an arm around her husband's waist. "Whatever happens, protect him well," she says in a soft voice.

Early Meetings on the Zephyr
Main Deck:
"Nope! Just guardian. I've known Daen since he was a kid. I know you too, but you haven't met me yet." Jo seems a little nervous talking to Daen's parents, even if they are so young. Nodding to Shrike, "He's a wild tiger, but I've managed to avoid the big trouble until now."
Whispering to Shrike and Liam, "Bruug actually sent us to change Time. Whatever world we came from, we hope to change. Daen doesn't know this."
Calli in the Library on Gith:
Three known races: Gith {source race}, Githyanki, and Githzerai.
Dangerous psychic powers, rule the astral plane, and populate most of the known multiverse. Known time-travelers, who shift through the planes with ease. Most dislike magic and prefer psionic powers. {Arha, Aust, and Liam know all this already. }

Re: The Azure Zephyr
Illanee
Illanee continues her study of the ship itself, spending very little time on deck, however. She is often watching Shrike, Liam, or Daen from the shadows - trying not to intrude on their privacy yet watching out for them. For her part, she stops into the library only in brief stints, to learn about boats and about their destination, if such records exist.
