As a good Sniper, the Soldier attacking you should already be dead before he sees you. The mantra is as follows,:

Be polite.
Be efficient.
Have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

Doesn't always work out that way, particularly if the Soldier himself is good, and that goes double if you're using the Lucksman :P

By the way, anyone know whether Thief: Deadly Shadows is good? I heard the Thief series was pretty good with one exception - the price in the current sale is tempting, but wouldn't want to end up with the black sheep of the series .

From what I hear it is very good but due to some nuttiness it won't run properly on a laptop or Windows 7.
So... consider that when making thy purchase.

All the thief games are expletively awesome. Thief 1 was really nice with sneaky, but a bit too much undead dinosaur action in it. Thief 2 was the best, by far. Thief: deadly shadows is the best stealth game that wasnt thief 1 or 2.

Kay, best thing ever on the server a while ago.

Stalemate on Turbine, and I'm a Pyro with flare gun out so I can taunt kill. I do a taunt, another Pyro approaches and tries to tauntkill me. My animation finishes in time, so I get out of the way and move to the side of him. Another Pyro comes by and as he walks in front of me we all freeze up.

So nobody can move and I have two immobile Pyros in front of me.

Valaquil's first campaign, the highlights:

1. Hiding under the truck while someone pours the colour is a fantastic idea.

2. Charger's stuck behind doors that don't open is a fantastic thing.

3. There's is a huge section of Dead Center 3 that is unused and useless but still there.

It had undead and dinosaurs. They could not be instant killed from behind with a blackjack. It was awful.

The alternate pathway is just before the gauntlet, right after you go over the ramp that you can't jump back over. Usually, the staircase on the right is blocked, but depending on difficulty and whether it's campaign or versus, the staircase will be unblocked and you have to start the gauntlet from the first floor by opening a set of emergency doors.

Eventually we snag some cola from a convenience store. I didn't hear why and I'm blindly trying to kill everything and follow... the ... cola? Jibar and Phase tell me to go under the truck. They're already ahead of me and hiding under it. I can clearly see that it's a gas truck. That thing looks like someone is bound to make it explode. But they're saying to get under it. Maybe I can sneak under and past it? Put it between us and the infected? I try to crawl, Phase looks to be blocking the way. Then... BOOM. We're all dead.
