It's a fluke, we've fallen into an alternate dimension wherein you and I live through X-COM.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
X-Coms are cheap.
Might be a refresher on the sale come July 4th. All of them for less than 5 bucks. Hundreds of hours of fun.
Heck, even if they don't, 5 bucks each ain't bad for TFTD, X-Com, and Apoc.Remember how I was wishing for the peace of oblivion a minute ago?

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
I've already spent most of my money on steam sales. Don't think I have any left.
And this streaming this in hard...My internet connection somehow can't cope and procaster is an unholy beast of terror and horribleness.
EDIT: Seems it was a problem with Livestream servers...Oh well, I was probably being boring anyway :-/Last edited by Dispozition; 2010-07-01 at 11:32 PM.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
That's...
That's not really a GOOD THING. Midas was never a competent smith in any way. He was just in the habit of turning pre-existing objects into gold. There's no reason to suspect that him forging something would be a positive quality.
That's like saying you have a wooden gun hand-whittled by a famous marksman.Avatar by K penguin. Sash by Damned1rishman.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
No, see, King Midas pissed off Hephaestus after Dionysus, for which the smith god gave Midas the ability to craft anything perfectly, but only if it were a tool to be used and, as soon as Midas touched it it would turn things to gold.
Really a rather boring punishment, really. Nothing like Sisyphus and that rock o' his.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
Just like William Tell! He was known for his expert craftsmanship of wooden equipment. Especially his crossbows and bows.
His skill of shooting the head off a fully grown manchild at a hundred paces with a bow is legendary, and has since been a feat all Huntsmen attempt to emulate, even today, (although some argue that he used a newfangled 'crossbow', and as such is not worthy of mention due to the machinery involved in the shot .)
PS: I thought this would be funny to show. Wonder if any of you have seen it before. DAMN YOU TVTROPES. Why are you so enticing?!

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
Not really....
1.Get your research started
2.Get your tanks, or in apoc get your autocannons.
3.Equip the tanks with cannon rounds, or in apoc get incendiary rounds
4.Shoot down UFOs
5.Land
6.Run from cover to cover, or in apoc......OVERWHELMING FIREPOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
I did, but not without great advice from people watching the channel. I'm thinking of doing another livestream on Sunday, is 4 still good or would another time be better?
Haven't played DoW II, but from the little of it I've played, STALKER is good, although it's worth picking a mod to apply to it to fix bugs, improve gameplay, and update the graphics.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIII: The World's #1 Forum-Themed Hat Acquisition Simulator
I'd give STALKER a 7 and DoW2 an 6. I'd also buy the THQ pack.
Do it.
DoW2 may also be better with Chaos Rising, and STALKER is far better with mods. Also, CoP is the most player friendly of the three.
