[Nexus] Good League of Good LVI: I had a joke but I forgot it

Jack calls out to Mara. "Oh, hello. Do you know any cyborg girls who live here?"

Again, it's just a creepy guy with a creepy grin who's chatting with Tobias.

[horngeek]

Long Tooth starts walking towards Jack. "What's this I hear about you looking for a girl?

Mind telling me why?"

Inside the Infirmary

Sinopa, the foxgirl, finally wakes up, and gets off of the infirmary bed. She doesn't have to stay in here, but she deems it unwise to go outside the infirmary, considering what's happening just outside the door.

In front of the Infirmary

Two women, one armed with a spear and a tribal shield, and the other armed with a bloodstained sword and a ship's helm, ignore Garth, and they start fighting again. The woman with the sword is wearing a tunic; the other woman is wearing but a cloth bandage wrapped around her upper body, and she has a pet tiger as well.

Neither of them speak, and neither of them leave the large-ish circle that they drew in the dirt, because then, in their minds, they would be getting back on GLoG grounds, where they were ordered not to try to kill each other.

Both Ishtaroth and her tiger leap at the other woman, Ariana, in an attempt to slice her up. Ariana does a backflip dodging, then counterstrikes.

In Front of Infirmary

Garth just looks baffled at the two of them. Why wouldn't they listen? Can they even hear him? Why do they have to fight? Finally Garth just gets fed up with it.

" Oh, for the love of... Both of you stop or you'll both end up in there! " He says pointing towards the infirmary. " Barely able to move! " The partial dragon yells at them picking up his sword.

[Murkus]

Wait. Isn't Long Tooth outside the infirmary?

In any case, Jack will glance in his direction. "Well, not that it's any of your business, but I'm looking for a cyborg girl. My people want her kidnapped."

[Lord Iames Osari]

[Infirmary]

"You were at the slave market, weren't you?" Mara asks. "You can't have her."

[Grounds]

Anshu and Cerise are almost to the infirmary door...

[horngeek]

He has good hearing. Wolf Spirit Shape.

Long Tooth looks at him. "See, I don't feel that inclined to let you have her."

[Murkus]

I sense a massive fight coming on. This should be fun, but very one-sided if everyone fights Jack.

"Well, I'm certainly going to try and take her." The hollow man remarks to the both of them. He glances back towards Sinopa's door. "But really, no need to speed things into violence so fast."

Jack draws some packaged fudge out of his pocket. Completely unpoisoned, in fact, but I doubt Mara will believe that. He offers it to her. "Here. Have some fudge. Ogres make the best fudge." He turns to Long Tooth. "Any for you?"

[horngeek]

Long Tooth looks at Jack. "If you don't want violence, then leave, now. And don't come back."

[Murkus]

Jack laughs at him. Think the Joker, only much deader. More... Empty. "Oh, buzz off. I was talking to the druid here, not you. Besides, I reiterate, why get into violence so fast? I'm so tired of that. None of you do-gooders can understand the long-run pointlessness of your actions. It's best just to relax and enjoy oneself."

He sighs. "But I suppose this is the part where you try to hit me anyway."

[Lord Iames Osari]

[Infirmary]

Mara just looks at Jack, not moving to take any of the fudge.

Nimai hops out of bed and goes over to join her twin.

At this point Anshu and Cerise enter.

"Seems unusually crowded in here. What's going on?" Cerise asks.

[Murkus]

Jack grins at Cerise from his place relaxing in a chair. Creeeepy. "I'm here to kidnap a cyborg girl. The rest of em' are just kind of getting pissy at me."

He looks around at the array of possible enemies. "So nobody wants to chill out a while? We really gotta skip to this?"

[horngeek]

Long Tooth frowns. The next instant, he's right beside Jack, and trying to slash him with long, slender claws- which, despite their appearance, are actually quite strong. They also seem to guide themselves to their target...

[Murkus]

Jack is already across the room from Long Tooth, grin and eyes flashing like the Calico Cat before speeding over. His slanted chair actually hangs in the air a moment, as if he was still leaning in it, before toppling to the floor with a clatter.

"You lot dissapoint me. The druid is more interesting when he's deadtimed."

And then he's gone again. Into the room down the hall, where Sinopa, Tokola, and Jamie are.

He looks around at the children. "Hey kids. I'm afraid one of you needs to come with me."

[Lord Iames Osari]

"We're not going to let you take her. You should leave now," Nimai tells Jack.

[horngeek]

In that case, Jack may find Long Tooth appearing behind him an instant after he enters the room, this time trying to stab him in the back of the neck.

[Murkus]

Oh, we got another teleporter! This ought to be fun. Jack is stabbed straight through the neck, the blade travelling all the way through.

He makes gurgling noises, as if he's really dying from a blade through the neck. Then he topples to the floor.

[horngeek]

Nope. Long Tooth just mastered a Martial Arts move that lets him use a move that's like moving really, really fast.

Long Tooth moves between Jack and the kids. He knows better than to assume someone's dead just because they've been stabbed in the neck.

Is there any blood?

[Murkus]

With Jack Empty? Not a chance.

Of course, he was hoping Long Tooth would drop his guard at that. So the hollow man stands, fingering the hole in his neck.

"Dang. We got a clever one here, folks."

He draws his sword, a blade long and of purest white. Even the hilt. The runes on the blade are maddening to look upon.

With that, he'll advance on Long Tooth, swinging his sword again and again at speeds imperceptible to mortals. All from different angles.

[Infirmary]

Cerise and Anshu exchange a look. Anshu runs forward to begin grappling with Jack, while Cerise's eyes glow black and her anima flares as she begins shaping a necromantic spell.

Nimai and Mara back away from the fight before starting to transform.

[horngeek]

Long Tooth... is no ordinary mortal.

As the elder Lunar performs several martial arts katas... he speaks one word. "Tao."

And he refracts infinitely into flows of Essence, demanifesting for a moment.

[Murkus]

Oooh, this is bad isn't it? Attack from all sides. Hm.

So Jack, being your typical 'coward' will teleport away.

And reappear on the roof of the infirmary, not making a sound.

[The Bushranger]

Jamie, for her part, doesn't hesitate, grabbing a broom from the wall and slamming one end of it down to the ground.

A mighty gust of wind blows through the Infirmary, quite possibly buffeting ol' Jack Empty about, as she transofrms into the Druid Princess Mikani!



...and oh yeah, it just might buffet him right onto Quinn's Divine short sword, which just now gets aimed at his back.


...unless, of course, he teleports away first. Because he mastered the art of post-ninja-fu.

[horngeek]

And Long Tooth remanifests now, glaring. "Darn. Let's keep our guard up, though..."

[Murkus]

Geeze, well that little plan was ruined. What is poor old Jackie boy to do now?

Rather bored, he just takes seat on top of the infirmary, chillin' out.

Aaaaand... deadtiming. Time for Murkus to do something other than posting.

[Lord Iames Osari]

[Infirmary]

Cerise lets the energies of her spell dissipate as Anshu comes to a halt. "I expect he'll be back," he says.

[horngeek]

Long Tooth nods, before disippating the Form. "Didn't even get to use my new trick... well, part of it, but not all."

[Lord Iames Osari]

"What trick?" Anshu asks.

[horngeek]

Long Tooth grins. "Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Form."

[Lord Iames Osari]

"Really? I've heard of the Sidereal styles, but I haven't yet had any opportunity to learn one. I've mastered Water Dragon, Solar Hero, and a few Terrestrial styles. As well, I didn't know Lunars could learn them at all."

[horngeek]

"Normally, we can't. How I managed to learn it was a long and interesting process, involving an Unshaped Raksha."
