He misses the door frame but manages to grab onto the railing of the stairs just through the doorway. He doesn't fall down the stairs, but he is out of the main library room.

I call out from the stairwell, "If you will judge others by who their parents are and not by what they have done, then assault them, I will leave."

After I have turned to leave, I say, "I will have you note that all I have done so far is help that dragonblooded girl find you and seek your help in learning how to stop a potentially dangerous cult." as I unhurriedly walk down the stairs.

She rears back as if to use her breath weapon, when suddenly...

A terrible explosion suddenly rocks the entire city, and the ground shakes as if an earthquake were tearing the city apart. The sky lights up from a blast many times the brightness of the sun, and you are certain that certain death has at last come to claim you. As the brightness fades, you look toward the Mages' Quarter and see the last remnants of the horror burning directly towards the sky in a seemingly endless stream of raw, burning mana which threatens to tear reality asunder. What seems like an eternity passes as you stare, though it is likely only a few seconds, and at last the blast fades away. In the distance, you hear a building collapse, and you are certain that something horrible has been unleashed upon the city.

Marqhu rushes back to his love to see if she is ok.

[Rizban]

The door to the extradimensional library tower seals shut as the explosion begins, sealing and protecting the rare books in Tameral's tower... and in this one instance, protecting her enemy from her.

The building is heavily damaged, being directly next to the blast, though the walls still stand... mostly. The City Guard initially refuses to let you near, but eventually does. Two guards accompany you into the building, unless you attack them to prevent them from doing so.

i rush into the house and search for my love, oblivious of the guards following me.

[Rizban]

You find her in her usual room, pinned beneath a fallen portion of the ceiling and unconscious.

i try to remove it from off of her. "Help me!" he screams at the guards. he manifests animal affinity to strength and expansion to gain a +7 total str mod. does being large give me a special bonus to trying to lift the debris off?

With your sudden expansion, the guards falter, but they quickly run to your aid anyway. Pulling the debris away, you manage to free your mistress. They suggest you carry her to the temple of Amalthea as quickly as possible.

I do so, at breakneck speeds (for heavy armor)

[Rizban]

She is quickly admitted with a number of other patients. The priestesses of Amalthea rush around to tend to their patients as quickly and efficiently as possible. You are ushered out with comforting words assuring you she will be fine, but only if you get out of the way and let them tend to her uninterrupted.

as long as no one insists that I fill out paperwork, I will wait tirelessly for her to recover.

[Rizban]

Marqhu is not permitted to wait on temple grounds, as every available space is needed to tend to the injured. The ask for his address and promise to send a messenger to him as soon as she wakes. They urge him to return to his home and try to start cleaning up or look for any other injured.

he tells them where to find him and goes back to see how the members of his shelter fared in the blast.

[Rizban]

The stairwell leading down into the basement has completely caved in. There is no way down short of digging or magic.

Marqhu uses all four tentacles plus his hands to dig out.

[Rizban]

Instead of digging near the stairs, he pulls the floorboards aside and digs straight through the middle of the floor. He subconsciously realizes that digging out the collapsed area would likely cause further collapse, potentially even of the walls and roof above him.

After a bit of effort, he breaks a small hole through which light floods into the cellar. The cultists rejoice in his appearance.

I say, "I have come to free you and to declare a new era that is approaching. I have plans that will lead us to wealth and power unknown. Stick with me, and
you'll never go hungry again!"

I lift each of them out with a tentacle if they respond well to this message.

[Rizban]

They are willing to accept anything, happy to be freed from what they though would be their tomb.

[planswalker]

After having secured his cultists, Marqhu will then tirelessly wait for word from the temple people about his beloved.

[Rizban]

The following morning, you receive word from the City Guard that the building is to be condemned. You are given two days to clear out before it is to be leveled entirely.

Shortly after that, you receive word that Mistress Meister has been fully healed of all ails.

I set my cultists about transferring everything of value to the central room. I will worry about what to do after that once I have seen to the mistress.

I take on my cult leader disguise and go to visit my beloved. If she is awake, I greet her with, "How are you feeling today, my love?"

[Rizban]

She sees you and begins to panic. It seems that her madness has also been cured, and the bits of memory she still has about you scares her.

As she tries to pull away from you without upsetting you, "N... not bad..."

[planswalker]

"Is something wrong? I heard that the healers cured you. I have waited all night at your manor to make sure your things were safe. I have my followers guarding your possessions to make sure they are not looted in the blast. The city, i'm afraid, has condemned your house and we will have to leave tomorrow or be evicted as they level the place. Do you have somewhere else to go?"

[Rizban]

"No, I don't... Why don't you go look for something? I'll just wait here..."

[planswalker]

"As you wish, my lady."

Marqhu leaves at once and sets about looking for a decently-sized clean house for rent.

[Rizban]

In the aftermath of the blast and the settling of the explosion's dust cloud, there are not likely any truly clean houses for rent. However, there are several places suddenly available in Old Town as a number of people pack up and move out of the city to 'safer' locations.

Marqhu makes an inquiry into one of the nicer houses in Old Town available.

[Rizban]

It's 300gp/month. Non-negotiable. Two bedrooms, a common room, kitchen, and a large storage basement. Quite a deal, really.
