Camelot WW 2 - The Queen of Air and Darkness
Camelot Werewolf 2:
The Queen of Air and Darkness
Presented By: Lostlittlebear
Dear Lords and Ladies,
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the wedding of our beloved King Arthur Pendragon and his beautiful betrothed, Princess Guinevere, daughter of King Leodegrance. In honor of this great day, the King and Queen-in-waiting are hosting a month-long tourney that will allow all brave knights to show off their skills with sword, bow and lance. The winner of the tourney will be granted a grand prize of a thousand ducats, not to mention guaranteed entry into Arthur’s court and a seat on the right of the King himself on the day of the wedding feast.
So why should YOU come this tourney? Well, firstly, we all love Arthur, don’t we? At least, I hope you do or this letter will be returning to me marked “Sender Deceased” very shortly, as those who supported the previous realm’s Chamberlain soon discovered. But just in case this isn’t enough to persuade you to come, let me just run through a short list of the notables who will be attending.
King Pellinore, fabled pursuant of the Questing Beast and Keeper of the Holy Grail, is expected to make his appearance, and there has been word that Arthur’s half-sister, Morgan Le Fay and her third husband, Sir Accolon, will turn up for the event as well! If this celebrity couple (recently voted Couple Most likely to End in Tears by readers of Knights! Magazine) isn’t enough to get your social antenna a-buzzing, there have been rumors that Merlin, magician extraordinaire, will choose this occasion to make his return to the court after his travels in the East.
But wait, there’s more! King Arthur has given me his express word that this tourney will be a fair one. Now, I know good manners dictates that one should give way to one’s social betters on the tourney ground, (which has led to strange events like the 5-month old Duke of Brittany being crowned Champion of Western France) but Arthur appears to want to turn all this on its head! He has given an express decree that all knights shall fight without their devices, and he and his royal entourage will follow suit! And without their devices, it’s not like we’ll know who anyone is in the mess that is sure to follow. (After all, faces are for peasants, aren’t they?) This means that even the lowliest hedge knight has a chance to claim the grand prize, provided, of course, his skills are up to par.
So what are you waiting for? Join Arthur’s tourney today!
Yours Truly,
Sir Tolero, Chief Publicist
(P.S. Camelot is not responsible for any injuries, death, maiming or public embarrassment that happens as a result of the tourney held on our ground.)
(P.P.S. Camelot officially denies all rumors of a rift between Arthur and his sister.)
(P.P.P.S. Bringing a gift is advised.)
Wolf Rules:Spoiler
Group Kill and Suppression Points
SpoilerEach night, every Wolf sends a PM to the narrators with a vote for the person they would like to kill that night. The person with the highest number of votes is killed. In case of a tie, the narrators will roll a die to decide who dies. If the wolves target one of their own, or the target is baned, the kill fails. They are not told why the kill fails.
If they so wish, wolves may instead choose to suppress their vote. This gains them one Suppression Point, which they may use to activate special powers. Wolves who do not send in their PM by the end of the night are assumed to be suppressing their vote. Unless stated, all suppression powers may be used multiple times a night.
If more than 50% of wolves suppress their vote, no kill takes place that night.
Morgan Le Fay (Disguiser)
SpoilerOnce per night, Morgan Le Fay may use her sorceries to change the appearance of an individual. For the rest of the night, anyone scrying the individual will see a role of her choice. Starts off knowing Sir Accolon.
Suppression Power (Devil):
For 3 points, Morgan may employ her knowledge of magic to determine an individual’s role.
Sir Accolon (Beast)
SpoilerIf Accolon is lynched, a random person from the lynch mob is killed. He can be night-killed normally. Starts off knowing Morgan.
Suppression Power (Assassin):
For 3 points, Accolon may use an extra unblockable night-kill.
Morgan’s Sympathizers(Wolves)(2-4, depending on game size)Spoiler
They have no special powers, and start off knowing each other.
Suppression Power (Extra Vote):
For 3 points, Morgan’s sympathizers may call in their political favors, making their points count twice in the next day’s lynch. This power can only be used once per night.
Nimue (Devil)
SpoilerEach night, Nimue can use her arcane powers to discern the role of an individual. Starts off blind.
Suppression Power (Voider):
For 3 points, Nimue may choose to befuddle a player with her powers. The player loses any night actions they might have had. If the player Nimue targets has no night actions, the power and points are wasted.
Good Guy Rules:Spoiler
Arthur (Day-Baner/Alpha Mason):
SpoilerArthur may use his royal decree to protect a person from being lynched. During the night phase, Arthur may PM the narrator with the name of a person he wishes to protect from lynching. If the player who Arthur protects would have been lynched, no lynch will take place. Starts off knowing his Knights.
Arthur’s Knights/Queen Guinevere (Masons)
Spoiler2-4, depending on game size. Starts off knowing Arthur and each other. One Mason will be designated as Queen Guinevere for roleplaying purposes. Functionally, there will be no difference as to the player’s role in the game.
Merlin (Seer)SpoilerEvery night phase, he may choose someone to scry. Starts off blind.
Senile Old Man (Fool)SpoilerEvery night phase, he may choose someone to scry, but is given a random response. Thinks he is Merlin. Starts off blind.
King Pellinore (Baner)SpoilerEach night, he may choose someone to protect from night kills. Accolon’s extra night kill can bypass his protection. Starts off blind.
Tor (Sniper)SpoilerDuring the night phase, he may choose someone to kill. Has a three night cooldown
Nobles (Villager)SpoilerThey have no special powers.
The Tourney (mini-games):Spoiler
Despite the intrigue and backstabbing going on in Arthur’s court, the tourney still plays an important part in the lives of the glory-mad nobles. The tourney is divided into three main parts – the Melee, the Jousts, and Archery. Dead players may still participate in the melee, if they wish, which will lead to some interesting narrations. :D
(Narrator’s Comment: This is basically just a fun aside that will hopefully provide an incentive for those without powerroles to remain interested in the game. Idea borrowed shamelessly from Pirates and LLD.)
The Melee:Spoiler
1. Each player starts off with 30 HP.
2. Every phase, players may decide one person to SMITE and one person to DEFEND.
3. Attacks and defences may either be honorable or dishonourable. Honorable attacks must be posted in-thread in BLUE, and will do 1d20 damage. Honorable defences must be posted in-thread in GREEN, and will absorb 1d20 damage dealt to the target (you may not defend yourself). Dishonourable attacks and defences can be PMed to the narrator in the appropriate colors and will do/absorb 1d10 damage.
4. Players who do not SMITE another player each day will be SMITTEN by the narrator himself for 1d20 damage.
5. Players will not be told who attacked them and defended them, merely the change in their HP totals, which will be posted in-thread at the start of each Phase.
6. As an incentive to RP, players who do any roleplaying at all in the Day will be given +2 to all rolls.
7. Players who drop to 0 HP and below are removed from the melee, and must spend the next Day Phase and Night Phase recovering. After this period, they may rejoin the melee with their full HP.
8. Each Day Phase, one player will be given the Honors of the Day. The Honors are given to the player with the most HP at the end of the Day Phase. If there is a tie, the player who dealt the most damage (after absorption) in total the previous Day (the Day Phase itself+the previous night Phase) will be given the Honors. If there is a further tie no Honor is awarded.
9. The player with the Honors of the Day is baned for the night.
10. First player to win three Honors wins the melee.
Jousts and Archery:SpoilerRules to be revealed once the Melee ends.
General Rules:SpoilerAuto-lynches happen on the THIRD DAY without a point.
Helgraf’s Scry Inteference is in effect.
Roleplaying is encouraged – as an added bonus, when you sign up you may tell me how you would like your death scene to be written (either funny or serious, as well as any strange conditions you would like to incorporate). I shall try my best to oblige!
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

Re: Camelot WW 2 - The Queen of Air and Darkness
In. My first preference for RPing would have to be the Ghost of Christmas Past (Disney Version). Unfortunately, I don't see that exactly fitting in with the style of the game...
The king of Atlantis, come up from the depths to honour Arthur and his daughter!
...Or possibly I'll think of something more serious later.
Can my death scene involve a Rube Goldberg?Avatar by Me!

Re: Camelot WW 2 - The Queen of Air and Darkness
Yep, you're right! Mistyped it and have changed the relevant post.
Also, upon some consideration I think the good guys may be a bit underpowered. Thus, I'm making two slight changes:
1. Adding a Sniper character to the ruleset.
2. The winner of each Day's honors gets a free night bane. The recipient of the bane will be made known to everyone.

Re: Camelot WW 2 - The Queen of Air and Darkness
*Sir Tsofu enters the city*
Ah, how nice to be back in the game again - now where was that little picturesque wine-cellar I found last time...
An attendant in the royal colours rush towards Sir Tsofus bellowing:
Hey you can't attend, you were killed during the coronation war!
While "fighting" against the king as a matter of fact...
Slightly annoyed at this interruption Sir Tsofu drew his blade while saying:
Dear attendant, people die when they are killed.
*schwoop*
*thud*
...
Inspecting his now bloody blade Sir Tsofu calmly mused over some people's terminal lack of attention to details.

I'm going to New Zealand for... an amount of time. Skiing and such. It's gonna be fun.
However, it means I'm unlikely to have much internet past lunchtime tomorrow until Sunday after the close one (I think it's the 18th).
Please don't auto-lynch me, and if you could refrain from night-killing/lynching too, that'd be great.Avatar by Me!

Sir Lachen Mensch took a look around the town. A troll, a fox, a llama, a ghost, and a cat. "Well, my week has certainly taken a turn for the... bizarre." he said, having hidden away his time machine and matching jumpsuit.
