The Lands of Un-Life: Main thread

The city-state of Ashmead has a world renowned reputation for having the most fertile lands of anywhere. For three months six powerful people have been in town doing various things. In those three months less and less food has been growing and more and more people have gone on the three day hike to the monastery of Obad-Hai to the north and none have returned. All six of you have received letters from the Monarch of Ashmead asking to meet with him at high noon in his palace

Marco sets the letter down on the writing desk in the small but well-appointed room he rents. I really must learn to keep a lower profile he sighs. It must have been that little scuffle with that half-orc in the tavern. Well at least he'll think twice about calling people scrawny. Or he will when the healers are done with him.

A mischevious gleam comes to Marco's eye. I suppose there's no reason I can't have a little fun with the palace guards.

He tucks the letter in his belt pouch and heads towards the palace.

The goblin Lubbi, who was having a very busy day lazing about in his hammock, reads the letter, and eats it afterward.

"Well, about time someone invited me. I wonder what they have to eat in there?", he thinks to himself, gathers his gear, and sets off towards the palace.

When arrive you see a man in front and the 2 guards.

Palace gate on a hill in the center of town. the 2 guards are in front of the large golden gate.

Marco winks at the two men in front of the gate, then shadow jaunts to the top of the wall, switching to dance of the spider stance.

He then takes stock of the layout:

If the main palace is about 30 feet or so from the wall he jumps to the wall. (Taking 10 he can cover 35 feet)

As you bound on to the palace the elf sighs and an alarm blares.

Without taking an apple core from his mouth, he starts speaking to the guards. "Name's Lubbi. I have an appointment with himtherewatsisface. Can I come in?"

The elf sighs again and the human says go ahead as he makes a signal and the doors swing open

Rynab rides his horse up to the gates, looking at the human guard without blinking or saying anything as he hands him the summons letter. Hopefully the ape can actually read the letter..

Fiore whistles cheerfully as she approaches the gates, giving a quick, snappy wave to the guards. She dismisses her calming aura before getting too close, not wanting to discomfit them with the sudden wash of emotion.
"Good morning," she says, peering up from under the hood of her cloak, "I was instructed to come to the palace today. I was sent this letter?"
She presents her letter, cocking her head to one side.

Marco initiates cloak of deception and slips inside the window, moving silently to a hiding place where he meditates for a moment to regain his manuevers.

I assume a stableboy etc. took my horse for me, cuz otherwise Rynab is riding his horse into the monarch's house. Which he would do if need be, but it wouldn't be his preference...

Rynab strides purposefully to the 3rd door on the left. Gods, I hope this is something fun. Otherwise it's back to target practice on sparrows, and I'm beginning to hate the smell of barbecued sparrow. And the stray dogs in town are starting to follow me around...
