Your assumption there then is that the same mutation that has significantly altered the shape and aesthetic of his foot and lower leg has then only modified his hand.

That seems a tad unlikely to me.

Well the idea behind it was that the mutated demonic arm and leg are a different size as well as width then his normal ones.
So he would appear to walk with a hobble or a limp when in actual fact its just that the demonic leg is slightly shorter/longer. Hence the mix matched boots.
As for the arm... it's red and has claws... >.>
plus I just liked the idea that he looked like a amputee and does everything with one arm.
Similar to will smiths character in I-Robot except Ikaeru hide's his arm.

And before anyone complains that his whole design means he can't be flipped... I drew him thinking "That looks cool" before realizing "Aww crud... now i gotta draw him going the other way"
But yeah the part under his coat is ment to be like a sorta amputee shoulder holder thing.

On his chest bandoleer belt thing are 2 pouches with bullets for his... well... hand cannon... >.>

And his demonic leg has bandages going from the boot to around his navel to hide the mutation.

Well most of my characters tend to be hard to draw...
But Rook doesn't look any different... and that level of technology isn't available to the UNA... Especially not the peacekeepers...

But Rook doesn't look any different... and that level of technology isn't available to the UNA... Especially not the peacekeepers...

you mean the rifle? frack, I overestimated it didn't I? I should've known you'd spot that it was an M-16 Assault Rifle. got any pic of a the standard shotgun/ musket rifle/ whatever in there somewhere?

but I saw someone draw a couple UNA soldiers with an outfit like that, aside from the shoulder pads in a comic and shoulder pads methinks is a suitable reasonable modification, so the outfits canon.

I thought both answers were correct

I have no problem with drawing them, if I can get this tablet thing to work I'll have to redraw everything several times anyway.

Nah, it was because I already had the uniform done, so all I had to do was draw his face. A pair of glasses and a scarf aren't exactly the hardest things to draw.

Indeed, I have lied to you. It took me approximately 1 minute, 17 seconds and 738 miliseconds to draw the Rook.

Standard-issue UNA rifles look like Ferguson rifles. They're breech-loading guns.

Mhmmm Probably, It requires at least two templates as he's nearly completely asymmetrical.
