[Nexus] AMEN 32: Srs Bzns

[VampireRot]

"Yeah, but... Well... You see..."

Rot pauses in the fight for a moment, trying to come up with more witty banter. The vampire reminds himself to think of more material before fights.

"Sh-shut up! And die too! Yeah."

Rot tries to push Penitent Wind Bearing Ash Like Snow's sword back with his own sword. Then he unfurls his wings, which don't go out all the way in the cramped tunnel, but give him what he hopes is a distraction. He slides a metal-booted foot forward and tries to trip his adversary by smashing his knee-caps.

@V There are mechs! and giant airships! and fighting! Which includes me! Bill! Murk! Halp!

Office

Jack narrows his eyes right back as Dr. Rein irritably sets a couple bottles of pills on Gordon's desk.

"You know, Gordon, I'm--" He trails off, glancing towards one of the viewscreens. I assume there's one for the front of the base? Where someone is knocking?

If so, Jack will say, "Never mind. It seems we have another new guest. I shall go meet them."

And then Jack teleports over thataway.

In front of the force-field

Jack teleports beside the knocker, looking them over. "Well, hello! Here to join, or should we just start fighting?"

"Yeah, but... Well... You see..."

Ash grins as Rot becomes flustered. Their blades lock, and the Abyssal dances around Rot's kick - but then their legs become tangled, and Ash trips.

[VampireRot]

Rot crows in triumph as his wings, extended to lean on the sides of the small tunnel, hold him up. He tries to hack at Ash's sword hand and arm, to get the nasty holy weapon away from him. And he kicks viciously with both feet.

Alas, Ash dissipates into a puff of dust as Rot's attacks come down, and now there is a tiger-man with razor-sharp silver claws tearing down the tunnel at Rot.

((If Rot wants to escape, he can do so via the warstrider end of the tunnel, which is not quite airtight.))

[VampireRot]

"That's cheating!"

Rot looks down at the empty space below him then at the charging tiger-man. His surprised and outraged face changes quickly into a wicked grin.

"Oh wait."

Rot also poofs into a cloud of smoke. The gas cloud streams around the tiger-man, and then quickly forms into Rot again, behind the tiger. The vampire swipes his scimitar at his latest adversary's back.

((Rot usually doesn't run from battles until both his arms and half a leg are chopped off ))

The scimitar simply passes through the tiger-man as his flesh shapeshifts around the blade. Ash reappears on the other side of the tiger-man from Rot.

"You can't win this fight," Leaping Tiger growls. "You're outnumbered, and now we have you surrounded."

[VampireRot]

"Yes indeed. But you see... I have more tricks up my sleeve."

Rot points down. He wiggles his fingers and cries,

"I summon thee, erm... ERA-KRA-DON-I...TO! MIGHTY DEMON! EAT THEM!"

A cloud of smoke erupts at the vampires feet, obscuring all vision. The smoke cloud dives down the tunnel toward the warstrider while a non-existent demon fails to appear and devour everyone. Rawr! Rot makes his escape, congratulating himself on a "job well done". Suuuure Rot. The vampire reforms to shoot one last jab over his shoulder.

"Hah! I win! Cause, um... HAH!"

And with that, the vampire poofs back into smoke and drifts through holes on the mech side of the tunnel.

[Inside]

The base, unable to attack the exalted directly, silently sets up its last trick. All the hallways leading from where the exalted are now, lead to a room deep within the base, with a certain mirror waiting for them.

((It was a note for the benefit of you the player, to aid in adjudicating its effects. Also, the purpose of Anshu's curse was to make it unholy, at least for the purposes of his powers while this encounter lasts))

With the hands gone, Anshu allows himself to fall silent. With Anshu supporting her, Cerise begins shaping another spell as the lava tentacles finally slump back into the ground.

Cerise completes her spell, and a jet of disintegrating blue-white flame shoots from her fingertips at the lava cannon, meant to utterly consume and destroy it.

(It looks like I wasn't clear. The cannon and the lever are apart from each other. The lever is inside the building, while the cannon is in the couldren, you would have to blast through a lot of rock and metal to hit it.)

A gasous Rot drifts outside, where it is dark. ((What's that? Of course its dark! I claim the time for myself since it wasn't mentioned before. No nasty sun here.)) The vampire is already bored, and doesn't want to bother with the mechs again. So he drifts over to the base door, where a person and Jack (who Rot doesn't know) are conversing. The vampire poofs into existence behind the person outside (Billtodamax's character i suppose) and grabs him by the shoulder.

"Boo! Bwahaha. Now... This is the AMEN facility now isn't it? I'd hate to think I fought some other organization's battle. Lemme in before those giant machine things poke me full of more holes."

Rot seems awfully rude. But this is AMEN, and he is a member.

With the hands gone, Anshu and Cerise descend back to the ground near the control keyboard, testing their footing gingerly before setting their full weight down.

(Oops, the keyboard is on the cannon itself. Sorry, but as every time I have fired I said the controls are on the cannon. Look, its late, go to bed and come back fresh tomorrow when people can remember things.)

Gah! shouts the man, while being suddenly wreathed in smoke.

Rot will feel the man stop existing under his hand, and as the smoke clears, a dwarf is left standing where the man was.

Don't do that! The dwarf yells. It's practically coated in steel and hair, now. Seriously! You really freaked me out there!

[VampireRot]

Vampire Rot jumps a bit as the man he surprised turns into a dwarf. The expression on his face is a rather priceless combination of astonishment and confusion. He opens his mouth a couple of times, obviously trying to say something, but can't think of what. The vampire finally settles on,

"Why would that even happen?! Whats the point?! How is that a defense mechanism!?"

[Murkus]

The hollow man is currently wearing naught but a few tears of what looks to once have been a grey suit, the trousers thankfully intact (for the most part). He has grey hair, grey eyes, and looks like a relatively young man.

Jack matches the man's grin, perhaps surpasses it, but not in a good way. His horrid, plastic smile has a vague air of menace about it, perhaps letting the man know something is wrong. Just wide enough to be... off. "Heh, well, we..."

And then Rot appears. And magic happens, or something. "Oh well, that's... not strange or anything. But yes, we should get inside if these fellows are still attacking. If you'll allow me..."

And then Jack tries to grab hold of both their shoulders and drag them through a yellow portal.

This will result in the lot of them appearing inside AMEN.

[VampireRot]

Rot glances around the room they are in. He doesn't recognize it. But that's no surprise. The base was destroyed a lot.

"Good to be back. Now... Who are you two, and who's in charge here?"

The vampire eyes the dwarf for a seconds and wrinkles his nose. He then turns his red eyes toward Jack. The vampire sniffs, and then sniffs again. Huh. Non-edible.

[Murkus]

AMEN Interior

Yeah, if Rot has some sort of heartbeat sensor, or really any sort of blood detection, he won't find any from Jack. He's completely hollow.

"You're an old member, then, vampire? Well, I like to call myself Jack Empty. So you may as well too, I suppose." The freakish fellow gives a quick bow.

[VampireRot]

"Hm. Jack... Empty. Quite accurate. I am Vampire Rot."

Rot does indeed have blood detection. He can smell it. Like a shark. From miles away. Inside bodies.

[Murkus]

I wonder how blood tastes to vampires?

"Welcome back, then, Rot. We haven't had an undead in a while, I don't think..." Pardon me if I'm forgetting someone. "Gordon is currently in charge. He's a dragon now, apparently. Magtok, I believe, has been nominated his second-in-command."

Jack produces some papers from a small portal. "Now, Rot, I realize you must have already signed these some time ago. So I'll just hand them to our friend here..." He shoves them onto billtodamax's character. "And that's that."

Seeing how the other fellow is deadtimed, Jack turns back to Rot. "Hm. I think I might go and slaughter a few of the Exalted, now that I'm not busy. Though I think you and I should go consult the leader, first."

[VampireRot]

Tasty? Like blood would taste to us, except that vampires like it.

"A dragon. I don't think I've ever met a dragon. I wonder how they taste..."

Rot stares into nothing, deep in though. He blinks then shakes his head.

"Lets go talk to him then. I'll help you with the slaughtering afterwards."

I'm not going to tell you, am I? He explains to Rot. an axe appears in his hand in a burst of smoke, and he pricks his finger with the tip, before realising that he can't find the form in the first post.
