Pete opens the door.

"First Mate Magtok! Your'e wanted at the door!"

[Lord Magtok]

Oh fudge, that goon mentioned him by name. Well, I guess disguise is out of the question, then. Maggy worriedly slithers out towards the front door, sticking out his left side as he takes a second look at those potentially hazardous businessmen.

Yes?

the young man strieghtens his tie "ah! mister magtok. we would very much like to make an offer to your organisation here"

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok studies the two cautiously, as if expecting a gun to get pulled out at any moment.

Yes, I can see that. Would you care to elaborate on the nature of this offer?

[iElf]

"an almost unlimited supply of henchmen, and our unwavering support in taking over the nexus?"

[Lord Magtok]

What's the catch?

The cyborg's definitely seems to be one to bear a grudge, as he immediately asked that right after the businessman finished talking. Jeez, it's not like you were involved in the murder of his girlfriend in Trog's or anything right?

...Oh. Oh wait, yeah. Oh dear, I guess this might be kinda awkward, then.

"none at all. apart for complete control over a third of the population after the take over"

he hands him a contract. "and of course you will receive the services of the head of our development team. you are familiar with Margaret?"

[Lord Magtok]

Mag immediately snatches the paper, staring at it dutifully, using to hide any possible look of shock that might cross his face.

Sounds entirely fine. And I believe so.

Assuming there's no dastardly tricks in the papers that he might've found, Magtok signs the papers and thrusts them back at the businessman.

the men nod "we will supply you with all the drones and technology you need"

they hand over a catalogue "we look forward to working with you mister magtok"

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok takes the catalogue, steps back slightly, and shuts the door without a word.

they leave quietly

Jack leaves to merge with his plot-clone and tell everyone it's safe to come back.

[Murkus]

And then his player realizes that KR has business here, so another plot-clone teleports back down. And proceeds to steal the couch while Maggie's not looking.

Jack starts to doze off a bit, growing drowsy.

Before Jack becomes too befuddled by sleep, he might hear an *Ominous Hummmmmmm* and feel a strange pressure on the back of his head.
"Hello. What you're feeling right about now is the impending threat of enough disintegrative power to vaporize a bull elephant. I suggest you don't move."

In the words of the original Holders folk tale:

Jack felt the gun against his head. Jack was calm.

He doesn't move, eyes staring straight ahead, voice unwavering. Grin wide as ever. Voice as cool and chilling as an autumn breeze. "Would you mind kindly explaining why you've interrupted my nap?"

"The knife you got from GLoG. The black one. I'd like it back, please."

[Murkus]

Jack folds his arms, staring at his lap. "That thing? Why would you want such a tainted little weapon?"

"And if you don't mind me asking, might I know who you are? That shorter girl from GLoG, I take it?"

[Ashen Lilies]

"It doesn't matter who I am or what I want with it. What matters that it's important enough to me that I'm willing to atomize you bit by bit until you hand it over, but not important enough that I'd be willing to entertain any half-assed lopsided deals you may be tempted to put forth." Says KR.
...
That's a... rather specific level of importance.

[Murkus]

"I like your style, lady." Jack flicks his eyes to the corners, straining to look at KR, finding nothing. "I think, however, you'd find my deals a lot less half-assed than you think."

"Of course, if you're not willing to negotiate, it doesn't matter." Jack says simply. "Torture me? Been done. Kill me? Please. It would be a waste of your ammunition. You have no power over me. None. And you never will."

[Lord Magtok]

I think she's WATCHTOWER, actually.

Uh oh, looks like Mag's just walked in on the scene. This definitely won't bode well for KR. I mean, a gun that destructive probably requires both hands, and he's somewhere behind both of them. There's no way he could possibly screw this up and-

...Did he just walk by, grab a Coke from the fridge, try to kiss that catgirl on the cheek, and then wave the duo goodbye? Mag, don't you think this little scene is a little more important than whatever else you might feel like doing elsewhere?

[Ashen Lilies]

"Oh really? Indulge me."
KR remains right behind him, out of his field of vision. She waves at Magtok. Silly Mags, energy weapons have no recoil! Besides, even two-handed as it is, the back of Jack's head proves an awfully nice surface to brace it against.

[EleventhHour]

Elle looks a tad quizzically at them, but it's not like she knows what's going on around here, anyway. "You kids have fun." She shrugs, and follows after Magtok cheerfully enough, and waves her tail along with her hand. "Where are we off too?"

[Murkus]

Jack's grin grows a bit, the sheer size perhaps noticeable even from KR's angle. "Honestly, I can't come up with a lot. I mean, what could I want that you could give? Bah."

"Oh, thanks Mag." He calls to the cyborg, apparently not wanting help at the moment.

"How about this. Tell me your name, your reason for wanting the dagger, and your goal in life."

[Ashen Lilies]

"In that order? KR, to stab a monster with it, and I'm really more of a short term thinker." All true!

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok smiles as he takes a big step right out the door, and into the promised land of ot-being-deadtimed-on-some-island-in-the-sky-all-day-with-only-smelly-dragons-for-company.

Well, while there was all that stuff in Lethargia and here just now, other Magtoks were fighting off an evil virusy psion in the main MagCave, being struck with horrific betrayal in the remains of an old theme park, and meeting up with some guy I thought was dead now. They were also busy reading a bedtime story to a potentially apocalyptic cat-baby-thing, negotiating with a giant freakish ant lady, trying to talk an old adversary into putting past grudges aside to combat a greater threat, followed by planning for that adversary's eventual attack on the main MagCave.

While they were doing that, I was leading Anshu and friends to the lava room and listening to their filthy monkey mouths blabber, welcoming new recruits, talking to those silly businessmen, having the thoughts of those other Mags pop up in my head, and telling you all of this stuff that's happened thus far.

Mag takes out that silly umbrella again, opens up a portal with it, and then wastefully tosses it over his shoulder, when anyone might run up and steal the thing.

To make a long story short, one of me needs a vacation, and fast. I selflessly volunteer this particular me for the job.

He gestures towards the opening, and does a silly, flourishy bow.

After you? It'll be a risky mission, all sorts of not-enemies out to not-get me and not-monsters on the not-prowl, so I'll probably want to bring a trusty bodyguard assassin girlfriend along, just in case.

And outside, Gordon and the henchmen are heading for the entrance to AMEN.

Go for it, Magtok, before Gordon gets here and you get in trouble.

Ebon Mirror happens along to overhear the last two parts of Magtok's speech, and says, "Before you go, Magtok, stop by my cemetery. I have the items you wanted all ready."

[Moff Chumley]

The Moff follows Gordon into the base. He'll attempt to put a hand on Gordon's shoulder. Bossman, we need to talk. Me an' Jack an', well, everyone else have been bouncing around an idea.Not necessarily true, but close enough. You've been a great service to AMEN, and we appreciate it. Quite a bit. AMEN wouldn't exist right now if it weren't for you. However, as we've been discussing, recent events have concerned us a bit. I'm sure you know which ones I'm reffereing to. Anyhow, we're gonna have to politely ask you to step down as leader of AMEN and allow Magtok to take the reins. The Moff says this all with the manner of someone chatting about the weather.

Dude, The Moff is dead meat.

Gordon's eyes and teeth go from human to dragon.

WHAT!

And the henchmen point their guns at Moff, others drawing swords and other weapons.

"You think you can make me step down, to a spineless cyborg, who had his chance to raise AMEN and blew it! You are a fool!"
