    Default X-Com mafia

    Right.

    We all recall the events of the year nineteen hundred and ninety nine. Invaders from the stars, armed with weapons unknown, nearly destroyed human civilization. One organization fought back, mankind saved, yay.

    Thing is, in the first desperate days of the X-Com organization, recruiting procedures... were a bit looser than they should have been. Maniacs, criminals, that kind of thing.

    And, unfortunately, alien sympathizers. Who sometimes went uncaught until the worst possible moment, IE, retrieval missions.



    Which is where you all come in. Most of you will be upright (for a certain value of the word) X-Com members. You will attempt to kill aliens, steal tech, and get out alive.

    One or more of you are dirty xeno sympathizers. The goal is to kill all X-Com agents. Survival is considered a massive plus, however.



    Here's how it'll go.

    Ten of you give a name and a preferred equipment loadout. (Beginning game era sruff)

    I generate a squad, pass along the stats, and send them to a crashed UFO somewhere in the midwest. I let the traitors know the score.

    Then? The fun begins.

    Discuss plans here, then PM me your individual movements, including conditional statements

    (IE: If the guy in front of me goes in the barn like he said he wouldn't, I waste him. Otherwise, I head for the UFO, crouching and saving enough time units to shoot.)

    The moves play out, I show the new map positions, everyone makes new plans, the cycle repeats.

    A HWP will be provided. Unlike your fellow soldiers, it is completely trustworthy and will spend every turn finding and exterminating the enemy. However, a majority vote will allow it to be used as an impromptu firing squad against a suspected traitor.

    If people volunteer, I'll get this going by Monday. If I was unclear on any details, ask.

    Awesome! What kind of tech do we have?

    I want to have a Blaster Launcher eventually, or a Psi Amp, since those are so much fun, but if we're starting from the middle, I'll join with the highest Reactions guy in the team with a rifle(laser, as soon as possible, to be turned into a Heavy Plasma as soon as possible), a (prefarably alien) grenade, (a medkit as soon as possible) and as good armour as we can get. The basics, that is.

    Map is a 4x4 grid. The skyranger is slightly northeast of the center.

    East, there's a two floor farmhouse. Prime hiding spot. UFO is either to the west or the south. Other than the farmhouse, there's no good cover in sight.

    Halgraf and XP are in front, then Murska and Eldan, then Thanatos and Istari, and finally Little Lost Bear.

    (As for loadout, everyone who requested gear has it. Anyone who didn't ask for anything has a rifle, a grenade, and one spare clip. And XP has a spare pistol. Anyone needs more gear, there's some spare stuff in a mound at the front of the skyranger)

    So, PM any commands to me. The HWP will move out to allow movement. Any further HWP actions require at least 5/7 majority vote before being undertaken. Any questions, ask.

    So, plan would roughly be that Helgraf and XP step off opposite sides of the ramp, look around for any aliens and if there are none, secure the immediate surroundings of the Skyranger. I'll be coming out next with Eldan and take cover behind the wheels of the ship. HWP does the scouting and the rest of us stay inside as a reserve.

    I'd prefer to send the HWP out first to check there aren't any aliens waiting to peg us with reaction fire. I'd rather the heavily armoured automated tank be hit by plasma than our unarmoured, squishy selves.
