Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
Well I just finished reading the storm of souls and getting into the Szark story and I have to ask are the next five years any good?

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
I sort of remember this comic. I think someone made a thread for it a few years ago but I don't think it caught on.

Oh my god, have you seen the Dominic+Luna tributes on Youtube? They're sooooooo pretty. I cried.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
Well I only started reading it a few days ago. I need to find some sort of fans. People who aren't madly in love with it but don't hate it either.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
I wouldn't say us GiTP readers hate the comic. It's more a kind of mad love.
The LiveJournal community is probably your best bet for what you are looking for, although it's pretty quiet over there these days. Next best bet would have been the DomiNATION fan forum, but it also turned snarky a while ago and is now totally disqualified on account of being dead.
There aren't that many active fan forums of DD these days. That might have something to do with the next five years of comics.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
There's nothing stopping you from discussing it in the main thread. A lot of snarkers were once fans and consider the comic at that point good if a little flawed.
We can also console you when your brain starts to melt.

Yeah the story seems to have kind of ended after the storm of souls.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
Huh, guess I've got to update my bookmarks . Is that the old forum, or a new one? DomiNATION keeps changing its address. The old links I have for the Dreamhosters site and the DDFanForum.net site are empty.
@Doomboy: You're welcome to come discuss the comic over on the mega-thread. Most of the discussion in the last month that hasn't been Phoenix Wright related (don't ask) has been retro-discussion of past strips anyway. The comic discussion needs some fresh eyes and voices.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
Alright well I put a forum on that site hoping to get some more responses if the story does continue after Storm of Souls than I may hang out there more often.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
DomiNATION is . . . Special.
Lately it seems that their catch all solution to problems is relocation.
"Internet drama? Oh no! Let's make a new DomiNATION! Surely that will solve our problem!"
Though that's probably a gross oversimplification. I tend to ignore the sections of the forum not related to snarking so I never really know what the latests drama topic is.
But the moves are starting to piss me off.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
It "continues" in some ways. I rather wish it hadn't -- that final page was a very nice endnote, thematically and emotionally.
Stil, I guess it depends on what you mean by "continues." The myth-arc we have building now, it seems, doesn't care that Storm of Souls existed at all... So that story doesn't continue, but Dominic still has adventures and more characters are introduced and you still see most of the old crew from time to time, and that sort of thing...
If you get to the current point and still like it, good for you, man. I'd love to hear your opinions on that, actually -- we get so few fans here... For almost any other state of emotion, come back here and you'll find people to wash your wounds and largely agree with you, and share their opinions on things. We actually end up generating some good writing tips and creative story ideas by discussing the comic. You could also post your running feelings as you go through the archives -- it reminds us of simpler, happier times.Last edited by Deme; 2010-11-07 at 08:35 AM.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
Yeah that kind of bugs me I may stop once Dominic is gone it would be like reading a leasticoulddo without Rayne or GWS without Haley and Jamie. Maybe if it was "General Fantasy World That Focus's on this One Seer Guy" than it would be okay. I'm losing interest in GFWTFOSG.

Actually the "Girlfriend" song that popped into my head when he said that was this Brutal Legend spoof.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
I long have abandoned The Threads of Snark, but it just hit me: is this perhaps a proper kismesitude? After all, you have to really get to know the comics to find out, how much there is to hate and then you kind of can't just stop. You are appaled and attracted at the same time. It keeps happening...
In a war it doesn't matter who's right, only who's left.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.
Oh god! Not the quadrants again. Though I think you meant to link this one to avoid us drowning in text. Though, DD certainly qualifies for an overdramatic bluh. Though do we really get to claim that title? Surely there are plenty of other forums in the running.
